The best band ive heard in a long time. If your a Gilmour fan check out the guitar work! The drumming, the phrasing, the vocal work, its all there. Just needs more peeps to hear this!
Well, I sat down, as I usually do listening to music. I listened from the beginning until the end (even your opinion 😊). I'm very enthousiastic about this. Nowadays I listen to more progrock/metal and there's a world opening for me. There are lots of criminally underrated bands. I want to mention just one of those hidden treasures: Odd Logic with their album Last watch of the Nightingale. Cheers and have a nice listen 🍺
One of your best jokes yet 😄 Oh Yes, this is prog done right! I've long loved metal with a special liking for thrash, but my love of prog rock goes back just as far. This is right there in that pocket.
As someone who used to listen to hours Euro-avant garde, EDM, trance and 'house' back in the 80s and 90s, this was very enjoyable. I wasn't a big fan of the vocals but the sheer instrumental variety made this a winner. Nice one Hedgy !
Never heard of them but will have to give the rest of their songs a listen, for sure! I just love coming across something like this where one instantly connects with what you're hearing. As you say, there's SO much great music out there so each time something like this pops up it's just such a joy. And - prog most definitely can get away with these longs songs. You said it yourself: "It's progy, man!".
Try ‘before the storm’ on the same album. Vid is epic too. Edit. Their ‘new’ lp Red Alert in the Blue Forest is sublime. All of a Sudden You are Gone is beautiful (kleenex required) with an incredible video and Peace Patrol has a sax solo followed by a guitar solo which are mind blowing.
OK. So I tried. And there were elements I liked. The drums were particularly mesmerising, and that repeating melody was great, and the whole crescendo that song built up to was powerful as all hell. But. Still not a complete "yes" from me. I probably would have fully loved it if it was 3/5 mins shorter, and without that weird outro that feels like the sort of thing that should only happen at a gig.
