You and a few others on RU-vid are the reason I got it. It’s a powerhouse without the weight. My only dislikes are the solution pressure knob is vulnerable hitting door jams. The knob takes for ever to go from low to max PSI. still can’t decide on a good heater option for me as I need it for condo buildings. Vacuum is amazing for a porty! I’m going to do a follow up review soon

Ive seen not update and you need a lift gauge to measure the power. My LX motors at 200 ft still have 160" of lift. Enough power to clean. It's about as strong as a small (14 to 18 hp) TM. Add a booster then it's like a mid (18 to 25hp) TM.

Do you think it could handle 150 feet of vacuum hose??
@hotlapkyle
@hotlapkyle 2 года назад
I definitely could. You’re just leaving water behind or going a lot slower. The way I describe it is: the Vortex lite does 75% of the lift my truck does. 150ft the vortex will perform like a “standard” portable. You need to also be careful getting the water out of your hoses when you’re done when you use over 50ft
@ReinSman100

I have used mine at 175 feet both vacuums going without an issue. I use the 1.5 end on my 2 inch hose and the suction screams. I've done over 200 homes no problems with drying. I always do extra dry passes with this or the truckmount.

I used vacuum technology back in the mid 90's (actually most likely as far back as the 80s) that was EASILY capable of going 150 ft. and still getting good recovery even with about the crappiest wand ever made by Castex. Believe it or not, they still make that same wand to this day. I was barely capable of going 200 ft. out with that machine, but I only needed to do that maybe once or twice in the several years I was using it. If that machine cannot go out EFFECTIVELY at 200 ft. they are lying about any improvements to performance. It just isn't there, period. My old machine used two 7.2 inch 3-stage vacuums and with all motors turned on drew about 28 amps on 2 cords. It was about the best you could get in an electric truck mount back then and that machine was called the Castex DVA (Dual Vac Automatic). You literally could turn it on and work all day without dumping water and it also had chemical injection just like a truck mount. I used LP heaters to heat the water. If I had known back then more about using a generator to power it I might have stuck with it longer. It did have enough vacuum and water psi to do decent carpet and upholstery work up to 150 ft which is what the manufacturer correctly rated it to do. Going out 200 ft. definitely pushed it passed its limits. The motors in the breeze are supposed to perform better than those that I used almost 30 years ago. Only some gauges will tell the tale and I'm sure the portable machine gurus have tested them for sure. Btw, my average hose runs back then was about 100 ft. up to 125 ft. with a rare need for 150 ft. I can only remember doing 200 ft. once or twice. To this day those hose run numbers have not really changed at all. I've done some of the largest homes and businesses in my area at under 150 ft. I do have a portable, but very rarely use it. It definitely is a good idea to have a good one for backup!!!

@hotlapkyle

Good question. I think I’m going to stick with the cold water unless I can fill it inside a condo or apartment with hot tap water. If my truckmount goes down for an extended time I’ll pick up a mytee in line electric.

I 100% believe the cost of a truckmount, van, etc..isn't worth what the yearly salary is for your cleaning business. I think a good portable is the way to go. Repair is much easier and you aren't out of work until it's fixed.

How is the suction at a distance?
@hotlapkyle
@hotlapkyle 2 года назад
It’s better than a standard portable but not quite a truckmount. I could run 300ft from my truck and have very good suction. I typically run 50ft off the Vortex and will run 100ft when leaving it in the van. Don’t think I would do 150. Spec sheets don’t translate to real world results. The displacement of my trucks blower will create more suction and lift. I need to figure out how to measure it

so what do you think so far
@hotlapkyle
@hotlapkyle 2 года назад
So far the only two benefits are that the carpets dry faster and you can kinda do title and grout. Even the “800psi on the vortex isn’t quite the same 800 as the truck for some reason. It’s heavier than my other portable and I have to lug 50ft of vac and pressure hose from my truck. Not having heat is a pain

@@inGodtrust5hmkj4 totally agree, I saw the one they sell at magic wand. It’s huge so I won’t fit in my TM van. I could throw one in my extra van if needed down the road.
