Vortex Razor HD Gen II E 1-6x24 VMR-2 - First Person Review 

Id much rather watch a guy walk around saying “pew pew” than a guy sitting there talking with the scope on a table in front of them. Great stuff per usual.

I know this comment is way late, but I just have to say I received more information about this scope in the first five minutes than I did watching multiple "guntuber" videos. Well done man. This is the gold standard of optics reviews.

I love garand thumb and mrgunsngear’s videos in general. But I never understood what they meant by not true 1x, daylight illumination, eyebox and etc. until I watched this video and it basically covered all situations and scenarios I could think about. Great work! Thank you! Btw, subscribed!

Great video, thanks! I wanted the Steiner but want more magnification....this is a big step up in price but appears to be worth it. The older/heavier version can now be had for $899, sold. That edge to edge clarity, that huge FOV (scope body largely disappears), daylight bright reticle, etc. Really appreciate the effort to show the optic in all those various lighting conditions. Thanks again. ETA, hilarious dark garage scene. :)

This review pushed me over the edge for the razor over PST and i couldn't be happier. Its incredible how the scope body melts away, worth every penny

Thanks for the awesome reviews. I watched many of your videos and they helped me decide on this exact optic. I found one with the VMR-2 MOA reticle in new/ unmounted condition for $1000. Putting it in an AD Recon QD mount, going on my BCM 14.5". Thanks again!

This is probably the best review of this optic I’ve ever seen, and trust me when I say I see them all, or to put it in better words before someone says REALLY? You see them all?. I’m not going to argue, so I watched most of them. Dude great job on this video, if I have any hesitation in pull the trigger on getting this scope, you kill it for sure. CDoes is a great reviewer of optics. He isnt a shill for the optic companies. How many YT optic reviewers just absolutely love every optic they ever review?? Answer -- Too many. Here we are getting his honest opinion, and I look forward to his reviews and opinions. This video was one of the reviews that I watched that helped me purchase it. I also have a PST II. All I can do is echo what everyone else says. Its just a great optic nearly flawless. Also Vortex is pretty crappy for not including a throw lever with an optic on this level - Especially when the optic needs one as much as this one does. Since the making of this video there have been comments about the PST II being 90% of this for 1/2 the cost. Nope - This optic is superior in any and every way. To throw a % on it is a marketing tool. The PST II is a very good optic and I like shooting with it, but I love shooting with this one.

Best eye box of any lpvo I’ve seen so far, curious to see if you or anyone else in the comments has any better recommendations?

this 1x magnification is the best thing ever

I wish the viper pst gen II dot got as bright or almost bright as this during daylight but its hard to justify 1400 vs 600 price difference. Ugh. Been trying to decide between the two. This and your pst gen II 1X6 has been helpfu though. I subscribed.

That fov is nutty. Cant justify buying it over my 1-6 pst ii but if used ones come down in price more with the gen iii release I may have to jump on it.

Still always find myself drawn to the II-E. Likely the best bang for buck LPVO in the market too. Wonder how it'd stack up against an ATACR or even the Kahles and Swarovski's which are considerably more expensive. 6T tried to match up to it but it seems the II-E is still king at that "high, but not ultra high end" range. If they could make something that beats this and is lighter, that'd be amazing for us consumers to see how Vortex would try to one-up sig.

Great review amazing optic. For 90% of us, it's all you would ever need. For duty life or death situations? Can it stand the torture and abuse. Doubt it. Good optic

Hey, would you take a razor 1-6 or a trijicon credo 1-8?

I need your opinion in a bad way! I’m conflicted between getting my first by once, cry once optic? I’m trying to decide between the Razor 1-6 Gen II E or the Delta Stryker? I can get the Stryker for $800 out the door, or the Razor with JM reticle for $1200 out the door. In terms of glass quality and overall value, is the Razor worth the $400 difference? I really appreciate any advice or input you could provide! This is a huge purchase for me.

would you still recommend this scope in the $1250 price range or has another optic beat it out in that same range?

Does the dot look brighter in person? It looks good in low light but doesn’t look as daylight bright when you were walking in the woods

Just bought mine (over Gen3, because i think anything above 6x is a bit of a waste due to small eye-box). Optics are second to none, clarity- and sharpness-wise. Build quality is excellent, not sure how durable the coating will prove to be, since it doesn’t look like Type-III HA. Disregarding the coating, feels like a tank. My biggest disappointments are the eye-box (it seems tighter at 1x than some base 4x or 6x scopes i’ve tried/used, maybe it’s psychological due to huge FOV) and the janky thick reticle whose top half gets illuminated by the dot even in dusky light. I’d expect a nice, sharp etched reticle with no illumination spillage for that money... But man, that clarity...

Love your first person view test! Would love to see the Razor Gen III review in the future. By the way, have you ever used any optic from Bushnell? Would love to see more brands from your channel.

This is still the KING of SFP LPVO glass. It just disappears. It can only be improved by losing weight.
