Today we're reviewing the Vortex Optics Strikefire II. With its 30mm tube and larger objective, it provides a larger field of view compared to many other red dots. It comes in red only or red/green (user selected) and its 4 MOA dot is easily acquired. Great for an AR-15, shotgun, or rifle.

The is one of the only optics outside of a prism optic that I've used that looks perfectly clear even with my severe astigmatism. I was completely shocked when I used it hog hunting with my friend.

Came here after ordering one from the PSA Memorial day sale. $100 right now. Thanks for the review. Ordered first and researched later at that price :) Oh yeah, got this to mount on my Arsenal SGL 21-61. Now i have to copy your mounting config

Great review I’m surprised it only has 7.2k views You have a great calm way of explaining things with good video editing and sound quality I think if you keep producing content you will get a lot more followers and viewers. Keep up the good work man.

Thank you for this video. I’ve been contemplating removing my lpvo off of the ak in favor of this optic.

Get a second side rail if that is what you are running. It's actually why I vastly prefer side rails to railed dust covers. I have a few different side rails RS regulate, a AK mastermount, integrated mount on a PK-01VS Then you can just switch between dot, magnified scope etc in seconds and they retain zero. Then you also get to tease AR guys that can't hotswap optics like you can.

What height of ring did you use to mount?

You flipped the astigmatism deal. Holographic sights are worse for people with that compared to red dot.

1\327- 1/506 11B 90-94 .. Thinking about putting one of these on a 1990s Dissapator clone carry handle rig for a late 90s type rig. You think it can take a a reasonable amount of beating?

Do you think the Strikefire 2 would be suitable for a Shotgun?
@johnch1p
@johnch1p 2 месяца назад
Sure can - out of morbid curiosity I mounted mine on to my 590 and it worked great. I swapped back to my 507C after testing just because I thought it was a little to big for my liking but you can certainly mount it to a shotgun assuming it has a 1913 picatinny rail on it.

RS regulate side mount, “has a bar” assuming it’s a standard 45 degree 1” bar. And a 30mm ring. That is how he was able to get the cowitness

I have been running an sig sauer Romeo with the riser it came with and a standard ak side mount. It was hell to zero and position want an lpvo but there to expensive so I ordered the strike 2 was sad that I would be loosing my cowitness until I found this video.

@@ghostofkyiv3422 at the end of the day it all comes down to personal preference
@-Zevin-
@-Zevin- 7 дней назад
@@johnathanpessetti295 I mean sure personal preference but for the record red is the least obtrusive to night vision, it's why submarines are illuminated red at night, and why the cockpits of fighter jets often use red lighting. On the flip side green is far more visible the wave length of light being a much shorter wave so it can constrict the eye more but is also very bright, so sometimes important lights will be illuminated green because they attract the eye much better than red. It's also worth considering the time of year and background in the summer and spring in the lush green forests where I live green doesn't always contrast well, but likewise in the fall green can stand out better against the autumn leaves. Green should also be more visible in bright lighting conditions.
