I love the way he was presented to us at the beginning of the episode as a powerful overlord but began to quickly show his weaknesses when he heard about Alastor’s return
I agree with Vox. The fact that Alastor came back and is with Lucifer’s daughter is a MUCH bigger deal than Angel Dust living somewhere other than Val’s studio.
I mean considering Alastor is one of the most powerful and feared overlords, and Charlie is the daughter of Hell’s ruler, yeah. Pretty important information to know.
Well in episode 6 we find out that Angel’s contract stipulates that Val only has complete control over Angel when he’s in the studio. So to Val, Angel leaving is basically taking away Val’s power over him.
I like how Vox presents himself as the most calm and level headed of the Vees. He's not an off the rails psychopath prone to violence at the slightest hint of provocation like Valentino, and isn't childish and shortsighted like Velvette. But the second Alastor comes up, all that shit gets thrown out the window.
Everyone's got to have a trigger. I find it more fun that he is so used to his opponents being visual that he tries to BLOCK the radios view on the screen 😂 I would love to know the full story behind their rift and possible connections. Seems like a deep betrayal
Christian Borle voicing Vox made everything about Vox 10000% better. His delivery with every line and the way he sings were so magnetic, the same way the characters in the show find Vox hypnotizing. They picked a good VA for him!
Doesn't even really sound angry as much as he's raising his voice to get him to focus, the visual detail of him getting brighter and Val being a moth really sells that idea visually too.
It’s the electronic sound that gets me. Just like Alastor, his voice goes in and out of being I guess modified. It only comes out when they’re emotional

Fun Fact: Voxs' official wiki states that he knows how dangerous Alastor can be. When "Stayed Gone" ended, Vox didn't say "Fuck!" out of fear or disappointment, he said it out of facing the the reality he's in now: that the rival he had 7 years ago is now officially back and is most likely going to he the downfall for all he worked hard for. Also the V's are strongly dependent on each other. Without any media, devices, technology, electricity (one of his powers is literally electrokinesis) or internet that Vox provides, Vel can't post anything for her social media and fashion business, and Val can't make money with porn if there's nothing to distribute it with. Without the money gained from Val's pornography business, Vox can't afford to pay his bills to Lucifer (who is the one that manages and rules Pride, which just so happens to be where Pentagram City is), and Vel can't keep her social media network big without paying for the goods and clothes she needs for her models. Without the social tech and genius of Vel, Val can't advertise his films and Vox can't get any more viewers for his various TV shows and channels.
@Discodian If that's the case, then there's no reason for him to be one of the main villains in the series. Keep in mind that we don't know what either of them are FULLY capable of, the only thing we know about both is that one has electro-kinesis and the other can summon dark powerful tentacles.
@Douchey_Elkmen alastor is weak, tho? His a sinner. In the hells, Hierarchy, he is one level below fodder compared to character In helllvu boss who do exist in the same universe all the seven deadly sins we've seen would wipe alastor with one attack.
Nahhh Velvette’s the impulse control lbr - Vox calmed down Valentino’s tantrum and then immediately threw his own and had a minor meltdown on live tv 💀
@@starscreamapologist3003Alastor seems to be his mental sweet spot tbf, he’s much better at containing himself in a general sense than the other 2, who seem to get super pissed and not hide it at minor things
I genuinely didn’t notice that Vox was on his phone while Val was ranting. That is hilarious beyond words. Is Vox so used to dealing with his boyfriend’s tantrums that he gets bored during them now?! 😂
@@pS0y You can see Angeldust advertised in the background as the famous star that he is. In episode 4 Vox is in Val's Studio too, probably congratulating Val for his good work that day. He makes money from this too after all! He also reminded Val that he still has Angeldust under contract. Though I do wonder why Vox sounded so happy to assume Angeldust quit. I'm assuming he ignored Valentino, because Valentino is annoying. As showcased by these two scenes: 1. "Hey hey hey, here I go, just another fucking day with Val, hahaha fuck my life." 2. "Uhm... which whore are we talking about again? 😑" Val: "Fucking Angeldust, who else would I be talking about?!" Vox: "☝️😑 I can think about 78 other demons you could be complaining about." (At least I assume that is what he meant with that point)
Ah Yes, that would be the ever fantastic Christian Borhl (apologies if I spelled his last name wrong) he's a Broadway actor who's been in both Legally Blonde the Musical and Willy Wonka and Chocolate factory the Musical. He is fantastic in both and I squealed when I heard his voice!
Him having hypnotic powers over his viewers really does lend more to the idea that he was a televangelist in life. Look at this man preaching to the choir.
Lmao you know you might be onto something. The fact that his whole thing is TVs and he apparently has the ability to hypnotize (although Sir Pentious was shown to have this ability somewhat as well, albeit a much weaker version?) so it's likely he was some kind of influential TV personality, much like how Alastor is the Radio Demon and was a radio show host while alive. Maybe he was televangelist like you suggested, or else a game show host or tv show host! Or maybe some kinda salesman? He kinda gives me shady car salesman vibes lmao. Maybe he sold TVs instead and that's why he's a TV. 😂
When I saw "is this the equivalent of a TV having a seizure" I though "Huh, well maybe Vox had epilepsy and died of Sudep.. I mean, there's no scars on him like the tiny x on Al's forehead from what's probably a gun shot"
one detail that I've spotted is that sometime, he have two red stripe on the bottom left on his mouth. that kinda make it look like blood spilling from his mouth. it seem to happen when he is distressed/angry, but not always-always.
He has a TV for a head. My theory is that he died because a TV fell onto his head, and considering he used to have a box TV head, I'd say that's the kind of TV that killed him.
The fact that I literally found a comic where Vox dies from an epileptic seizure immediately after watching the video and reading this comment 💀 Edit: MOM I'M FAMOUS!
Same, I also thought his personality would be more violent, maybe because his design on the pilot had those red lines on his mouth and the eye hypnosis thingy that now only appear when he's angry
@@s.a.msquad5864 only physically. Vox has very sharp claws. Can throw electric currents capable of burning things and can also turn into electricity and travel through wires/electronic devices. In a 1v1 vox would easily beat Valentino.
@SSBlueIsCool we barely even seen any of valentinos feats other than the fact that he can make contracts and manipulate sinners but you are probably right as vox is the leader of the threesom
Not only is he super extra for that, but I love the delivery of “Who gives a shit?” It’s like he’s trying to be joking about it and not give Alastor any credit, but of course underneath it he’s actually really insecure about how much more powerful than him Alastor is and this whole musical number just draws more attention to Al’s return than if Vox had just stayed silent. It’s a great piece of irony and I can’t help but laugh every time I hear it or it randomly pops up in my head.
@@wolftamer5463 yeah dude was PISSED and probably scared he would be the next of Alastor’s victims so he wanted to express his new power, but didn’t think it through at all lol
“What do you think chasing wh0res around town will do to our image?” “Uhh…f*ck it up?” “Correct!” Forget that boys, but what about, I don’t know charming the hotel LUCIFER’S DAUGHTER owns. That can’t be good for your image either
I absolutely love Vox so much, he's easily the best of the Vs and probably the best villain in the show as well. Also I love all the little silly text you added, especially at 2:49 😂
one of my favorite details about vox is how his voice when he yells at val (roughly 2:09) his voice sounds like he's capping out his speakers cuz he's yelling so loud ... love him so much actually
I always thought that Vox was the true glue of the Vee’s because it’s clear he’s a mediator between Velvet and Valentino, keeping them focused and there priorities straight
Hearing the fan songs of Vox and Angel made Valentino sound and feel so much more menacing, living up to the comic with Angel Dust as a cold calculative menacing threat who is always aware of everything. Then this bouncy clown comes crying over his toy ready to start a commotion and Vox has to convince him like he's a 2 brain cell lackey from a Disney movie. Love Vox and Alastor sharing background sound effects to their quips. Something they have in common.
He did listen to Vox and calm down though, even if he had to be led to the conclusion, so he isn't a complete fool. And it's quite possible he was just throwing a dramatic tantrum for the attention and purposely saved the Alistor news for after so Vox would have a farther fall after feeling like he was above Valentino.
My Dad is extremely anti-woke and old school catholic, so I wasn't surprised that he really didn't like this show. But the one thing he really got behind was this guy and I don't blame him, he's fucking fantastic.
@@whutcat682 seeing he's an old school Catholic, the idea of Lucifer being a caring dad probably rubbed him the wrong way (just his design probably rubbed him the wrong way, "Lucifer isn't pretty, he's cunning and hideous and is actively tempting you into sin 24/7" and stuff like that), probably
@@adlirez weird, Lucifer as I know was supposed to be beautiful. But, I know how old folks are😩. Still, I am not religios so I really can't imagine how they think tbh.
@@whutcat682 something something "Lucifer lost all his beauty when he fell from Heaven" something something "he's supposed to look like an effed up thang doing effed up thangs" something something "if he looks attractive it's gonna make him look good which isn't a good thing because he's evil and bad"
1:12 i find this part so hilarious, "hey tf, my goddamn phone" and Vox just silently watching as Val takes Vox's phone from his hands and throws it at the wall, shattering it, and then looking back at his hands from whence his phone was taken from, like, why's that so funny to me?
FINALLY- I don’t even watch the show and I’ve noticed this already (because of sibling that watches this show but even said sibling didn’t notice until I pointed it out) AND I HAVE NOT SEEN *ONE* SINGLE COMMENT OR VIDEO ABOUT THAT FACT! AAAAA
i love the scene where val is about to go ballistic on the hotel and vox talks him out of it and how it establishes so much about their characters/frienship/relationship dynamic . he's ranting and raving like a lunatic waving guns around and about to go on a sexually violent murderous rampage and Vox, trying to keep his cool, exasperatedly telling him "VAL. You CAN'T just rape and murder everyone at the Princess's Hotel because you're mad at an employee. It'll make me me look bad."
Vox is my spirit animal. In that he is hyper focused on his work, has zero time, no care for, and even less patience for people crap, and is constantly surrounded by idiots and constantly having to keep said idiots in line because only he takes anything seriously.
0:54 One thing I found hilarious in this scene is he ask’s his fizz robot to get another glass for him, not cause he wants to drink from it, but to throw it LMFAO
You can tell from his scene with Valentino he's clearly the manipulator of the V's. He's the one really in charge, but the other V's support him with other forms of information. Alastor was really just getting under his skin with the line "He'd be powerless without the other V's" since it's really the other way around, the other V's depend on him in order to get anything done as shown by Val's temper tantrum with Velvet unable to calm him down, needing Vox to handle the situation. It's interesting seeing Vox be so in control with the other Overlords yet having so little power against Alastor, even going completely out of character and breaking down whenever Alastor attempts (and succeeds) in getting under his skin.
vox became my fav SO FAST FROM JUST ONE EPISODE I SWEAR WE NEED MORE OF HIM ITS ALREADY BEEN 4 EPISODES WITHOUT HIM HE BETTER APPEAR IN THE FINAL 2 AAAAHH
The part where he's getting Val's attention, he actually brightens his screen! Because light attracts moths. Might not've been on purpose, but it's pretty fun
Ok there is so much in that scene that makes it one of my favourites 1) They're voices are so hot but I wouldn't date them if that makes sense 2)When Vox screamed Val's name that voice was SO HOT 3)The reactions to this had me crying
Worker on the show here! It’s because Vox and Val are dating, Angel takes the most of Val’s attention out of his workers but also is the reason Val is angry most of the time, so if Angel quits that gets rid of two problems for Vox
Its incredible how in this episode when Val mentions Alastor, vox says "ha, what did you say?" And then on ep 5 when husk mention that someone has alastor as a slave alator replies "ha, what did you just say?" In the same mood
If my theory comes to light, imma just say this, he definitely will have someone better, and will likely use them to his advantage since they live at the hotel
