Could you list the mods that you've done to it? Also, at least on the FK8 you can deactivate collision mitigation completely (which I always do on track), so it gets rid of the annoying beeping 😁
@@Wydarr eventuri intake and charge pipe, tegiwa b pipe and a map mate Made sure it was properly serviced too including valve clearances. Put the fk8 2 piece discs on and some updated brembo pads, but I’ll probably change those out soon. Used an acuity instruments kit for the shifter which put spherical bearings on the cables and hard mounted the cradle. Braided brake lines and motul rbf660 and ps4s tyres.
@@nielsdebakker3283 lol no I love the Carwow videos but the Civic Type R always loses out to the S3 or Golf R in drag races but it's not the same when they're on a track. Pretty sure Matt Watson did a GR Yaris, Civic Type R and an A45s on a track? (Although the Type R did come 3rd...). My comment was aimed at EVs too where the Tesla Model S Plaid might slaughter everything on a drag strip but it's almost exactly the same time around the Ring as an RS3 and M3 Touring and slower than the M4 CSR. In the real world roads have corners and you have to break and accelerate regularly not jut put your foot flat to the floor when traffic lights change to green ;o)
@@corleth2868 I agree but barely anyone 'in the real world' is taking corners at the limits of their car. It'd be stupid to do so because roads are not prepped, clean surfaces. There's way more risk in taking hard corners on regular roads than stepping full down on the gas in an all wheel drive, 3 motor, electric rocket just going straight. That's why muscle cars with straight line speed are so popular in America, even though I personally hate Dodge and their Chargers and Challengers. It's a lot easier/safer to just step on it going straight, hearing the engine roar, have a little thrill, than to take a hard corner and slip on cracked, oiled up tarmac and end up in a tree or a house. Track driving is something most people don't ever do with their sports car.
@@thecooljohn100 ehhh I wouldn’t say that. The Tesla accelerates so dam quickly it is very probable someone would pull out in front of you in a blink of an eye. It’s insane how fast they can go from 0-100MPH and that normal civilians who don’t know how to drive can buy one.
I have a fk2 type r too. Mine is circa 430hp and my God it's fast. It surprises a lot of people. If you haven't driven one I recommend it. They're fantastic
love the quality of the videos now! But I’ll say that I actually miss the walk around with the car owners like you did a year or so back. Doesn’t have to be 15min spec list, just a quick 1-2min talk with the owner about the most important specs. Keep up the good work Misha, nice to see your channel growing

this car is all about THE SUSPENSION ! i was so impressed how it can handle cobble stone and other terrain. the tires are great for accelleration, but too soft for the ring, since thes start smearing. i still love the michelin, since they are so responsive and give a nice feedback.
One of my favourite cars, just something about VTEC that other cars just don’t sound the same, having an EP3 Type R for a few years I would never change! Great videos as always. Top Fan!

It’s a modified JDM ‘17-19 FK8 CTR. Can tell by the interior. Have a ‘21 CTR and can notice the slight differences. As a FK8 owner yourself, would have thought you’d known that, too.

After some days from my travel to the ring and done some laps with my fk2 now i’m more impressed with this video. And every day i’m more in love with my car, best combo of technology and driving feelings.
Everyone loved to complain about how harsh the FK2 is on normal roads. It’s refreshing to see this set up being praised doing what it was intended to do.
Great to see Misha, I absolutely loved my fk2. Such a brilliant track car out of the box. The handling and top speed stability was brilliant. The only thing I thought it lacked on a little was the exhaust sound.
It's amazing the job Honda did on the Type-R to cool it down. The temp guage was below half-way the entire time. Not sure if owner had some mods which helped w/that.
it’s nothing strange there, any honda, lawnmower, gokart, car, supercar, if you change fluids and maintain it right, you can push it to the factory limit 24/7
you get kicked for the day by overtaking on the right. you might get through with a regular car but chances are pretty high they kick you for overtaking the security car, don't you think?
Nice I have one just like that. Same colour even. Except mine doesn't have a Turbo, and it's a pre-facelift, and it has no wing and it has the regular EX interior. And smaller wheels, and it's riding a bit taller, and, well, it's just a stock 1.8 ivtec XD
Recently found loads of rust under my ep3 civic. It's beyond repair. So will have to part ways after 11 years. So gutted. After seeing this video I think it's time move to a FK2 to help heal from the heartache 😁
@@fenwa592 my sills were rusty, my Mot guy flagged it up so I took it to my mechanic who started poking about and ended up making holes:-( Gonna start taking the first layer off to see the extent of the damage but if it looks like it's spread too far gonna leave it as it won't be worth it.
I have an FN2 but love the FK2 would be a dream upgrade. Just couldn't afford it but a great car I drive one, I miss the analogue fear of my FN2 when I drove it, but with some mods I suppose you can make the sounds almost as good as the old school. Great to see it on the track. Not many around but there's some really big boosted ones coming out from good factory conversions.
You'll be surprised to find out that its the Eventuri induction kit making that sound, the oem BOV on the FK2 is recirculating so it makes no souds with the OEM intake, hence why most people who own FK2 Type Rs buy the Eventuri :)h

I own the same car (but blue) with factory setup (nothing done to it) and it drives like a boss! Nice to see this on your channel, Misha. Been about to go to the ring and lap it but Covid came in between so hopefully next year.
I own an FK2 but Black/Red #SE0401 Standard with All round Drilled Discs. Rev Assistance ,Hill Stop,Parcel Shelf. Yet other Standard FK2 don't seem to show on RU-vid🤔🤔🤔
I own a civic but the idtec 1.6 2016 plate. I'm not sure if idtec uses the same vtec technology. But the acceleration from gears 1 - 3 are rapid. Such a joy to drive. I've had mine for 10 months. If I had the money would love to tune it. Or swap for the Type R model
i tested a new track yesterday.. i found a lot of sand traps in practice and qualifying.. in the race i managed to stay out of them for the moste part ;) thankfully i never stopped in one and i was not the only one lol. there where dust cloud all around the track all the time lol.
It’s sick ! I can go on long drives without taking my eye off the road. Speed, revs, eco (Gear NO on later models) all within your vision when concentrating on the road. You’ll never have a looking down to check speed etc and then lookup shit pants moment
