I'm interested in doing the vtt hub on my 335 too how did you figure out the orientation of the hub and timing since it can be turned one way or the other before tightening
The hub orientation has no effect, as long as it’s in the crank straight and flush with everything, the tensioner will acomadate it as long as your cams and timed correctly
I have a crankseal protection plate for my 135i which I haven't installed yet. the one that goes behind the harmonic balancer. I only run 350hp stage 1+ though. This crankhub work is extra, for very high hp cars. i think bmw should make em that way from factory. Another aftermarket fix for their weak parts.
@@BuiltInTheRain there's many 700whp-1000whp cars running different pinned hubs and its a pretty proven solution. I built a car using the spline lock and its an upgrade over oem but its extremely difficult to remove if ever need be I just don't believe is as strong of a fix as a 1 piece pinned hub. I run a pinned hub on my personal motor and haven't had any issues at pretty good boost levels.
