Unlocking Minos Prime requires that every Act 1 level is P ranked aka beat within time limit, killing all enemies, not dying, and getting enough Style combo points. Same goes for Act 2's Sisyphus Prime, you just need to beat Minos Prime also (I never could beat Minos Prime despite finding P ranking levels rather easy)

=\ I guess, but adding length to the game by adding content that requires you to actually get good is fun. Drawing out an experience for no reason is evidently pointless, but this game's actual gameplay is amazing and having more reasons to play is therefore enjoyable for many, that and the challenge/reward you get in/after P-ranking. Gotta play perfect to get the perfect reward, and needing checkpoints is not finishing (close enough to) perfect.
