Played on Horde side Vanilla Sylvanas. Had the pleasure of running into Vurtne a couple of times and slaughter some Alliance with him (well, I watched him slaughter them mostly, I helped a little with my heals). The only time I mustered up the courage to actually send him a whisper, I said “Alliance sux”, and he responded with “They think this place is a fucking battleground” (was in Tyr’s Hand). I remember being so filled with joy that I had spoken to a legend. I really miss the legendary PvP’ers that used to be on different servers back in Vanilla/TBC. Now these days, the legendary people of WoW are the RU-vid content-creators, but back then it was just unknown people doing great deeds in-game. Since you didn’t know their real life personalities, they felt a lot more legendary and mystical.
Vurtne responded to my facebook message where I thanked him for shaping me into the person I am today, all of the music, the EPIC pvp and shit. Good old days
Michael Jordan in WoW! ;) Do you know? ru-vid.comUgkxnIOTUdk5G8-rEqbMO7AYxQTnnP1eeWrw What is Communism? ru-vid.comUgkxlWjRaU-0fvIfc76bAIPDj6_t5DL1q4hF Holy Wood ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eFljUYPeigM.html
He always has full mana when he engage ... but he end up spending all mana while fighting ... thats complete diffrent. Why he got oom is cause of the scale of Int mana pool was poor and the spellz cost a lot of mana and you dont regain mana as today. *Just* *take* *this* *fight* 14:28
***** i think what zadawn was trying to say is that vurtne is really good at using evoction during fights that should be difficult to pull off a channeled spell. especially when hes outnumbered
Vurtne! Damn this dude is such a legend. From time to time I come back and watch his vids again, just like tonight. Such nostalgia. Thanks for making those awesome movies, Vurtne!
I can give you all an update on Vurtne. After he "deleted" his char,he contuined to play in Tbc.Back in the days he had a forum, yes there was a vurtne forum.Alot of good mages were on there, many people who produced Videos for Warcraftmovies. I reached glad in S2/3/5 as a mage and was very active on Warcraftmovies/Forums and old blogs. There are several Videos of him self released in Tbc and he is featuered in other Videos. He played with Alca,German mage (Warcraftmovie creator, multi glad) I knew him because I am german and played a few times against him he reached Rank in S5. He also played with Sarotti in early TBC,another old school mage movie maker, and with Alca on the same server. They made a Video and it was avaible on warcraftmovies. Sarottis Movie(You can see Alca in there and Vurtne at 22minutes) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-J_PuCLl00xw.html He then switched the server in Tbc named warbarbie. I remember the steam tonk abuse Video and he was a featured in a movie of another mage on warcraftmovies. They all played and were active on there and in forums/warcraftmovies. Also one of the Vurtne forum admins and a movie editor for several pvp Videos, still has a lot of "underground and unseen" Videos of Vurtne. Here is his channel: ru-vid.comvideos I played many games but I will never forget all the forum talk and the community back then.People and the Time were just different,I think you will never have such an online gaming community. You always had some assholes in the forum or in the game but it is nothing in the days of modern"super fast xDDDD" internet. The Server/Realmpool/Forum were like a small hidden second World, where people knew each other and shared memories/knowledge/drame/fun. Nowadays gaming is like the McDonalds Drive In. Just my 2 cents. PS:After the forum shut down I lost his tracks but he had a MySpace Site. And seeing his profile picture(like many years ago) ,I can say you he really got into sports/lifting/fitness.He literally became a Swedish God in real life, too. Truly the greastest for his time,I will never forget him and community,he just elevated the game to another level.
Man, this is a great point. I also remember that in-game/forum (russian version - prestige gaming forum) feeling when community was main thing and all stuff with that. Now it's just gone, 10 years passed (even more), but i made there great friends there who still with me after so long time. Thank you for your comment, that was really great times.
@@Drunkledore He was surprisingly bad in arena when he first started xD but he never liked arena in the first place, i convinced him to play some 2v2 with me back in S2 on outland and i remember his disgust and surprise when we realised he couldnt use engineering trinkets in there xD i dont know if he ever got better in arena as i lost contact with him when he quit wow in s3 i think
Am I the only one to be such nostalgic of BC ? BC was realy the good time... - Nagrand Arena - Duels in front of Ogrimmar - RMP - Warlock SL - Shattrath - Halaa in Nagrand - Hellfire peninsula.. I miss that shit.
BC had decent PvP. Way better than nowadays. Back in BC you had to time your shit correctly so as not to run out of mana or rage or energy and use CDs wisely. Best example was a duel between a Frost Mage and a Warrior where the warrior had to fight with his HP versus the mage's mana. Whoever missed first, lost. It was so freaking intense! Now you simply jump down on someone, turn on your burst macro and spam skills. There's no need to time anything anymore.
I have come to the conclusion that I've seen this movie a few too many times. Whenever I listen to the Muse track Map of the problematique I can always hear the rogue go BACKSTABBACKSTABBACKSTAB whenever I get to the part lol
I hope, one day, that another game like this comes along. Even at the time I knew I was playing something special and that it wouldn't last forever - I made sure I enjoyed my time playing even more because of that realisation.
For me he kinda "invented" the mage pvp gameplay (they were all playing pom pyro for big numbers), like laintime have definitly invented warrior pvp gameplay or Niar/Grim for the rogue .they were few years of gameplay ahead of their time in term of gameplay . They played in early vanilla like the best arena player mid/end TBC
Nostalgic video. The first clip in this movie is just out of this world. To be able to outplay 4 people at that time is just... Insanity. And this was done at a time, where rogues were considered absolutely OP, and Warrior + healers were broken. I've left World of Warcraft quite some time ago, but I stumbled upon Vurtne's vids and I'm still watching them in 2014. In memory of a great time in Vanilla WoW. Broken as fuck, but fun as hell, and this guy was an inspiration for the entire mage class as a whole.
Vurtne is the greatest mage in the WoW PvP community imo. He was way ahead of his time, and inspired countless engineers, undeads and mages. Like seriously...he really elevated the level playing field of mages. Then you also had mages like Gamekings and stuff ofc, but Vurtne captivated more people by his way of making videos (entertaining)
Damn I love this video. Part of what makes Vurtne so great is he always starts at a disadvantage in each clip, then has to creatively work his way out of a bad situation. He's also a really good mage, which helps. Very few players had the same kind of control with the class that he did back then.
+AboveEmAllProduction I respectufully disagree. This may be the most legendary mage video ever, but Razghul Fire mage PvP, Healingproof 2 and Rhymes 10 were definitely better to me.
This is definitely my favorite PvP video to this date as well! So entertaining, and skillful imo :p The editing does a lot, to be fair - as well as the soundtracks.
None of the videos you reffered to were vanilla? They're all wotlk, two rather different versions of the game lmao :D Vanilla had such a skillcap, and anyone who reached it are legends.
MindofWicked I answered to someone who wrote "best mage pvp video there is. ever. " --- So I can give exemples of videos from other expansions to counter this "ever" assumption. BTW Rhymes 10 is from cata, and yes, the rest is WotLK, since WotLK was the most prolific expansion in terms of PvP videos. The best expansion for PvP aswell.
Rusty Dreams Its true that he was SICK FOR HIS TIME but u gotta admit that he quickly learned all the skills in that period when WoW came out. Arena wasnt even out yet, and we all know mages got good skill after arenas came
Rusty Dreams WoW had been out a few years at the launch of TBC... geez, it wasn't anywhere a 'new' game. Although there were certainly new abilities just added in, so this video shows how quickly Vurtne adapted them to his play style... he was an epic player. If he had continued he would be godly now.
Not only was he the most technically gifted player at the time, and the best entertainer, he was a fucking escape artist with the most clutch plays ever.
yeah.. I knew I had seen this video many times because it was immediately familiar right from the beginning but I had forgotten about those silly rogues lol... cant help but grin listening to them while they try to kill him even once xD...
Vurtne inspired me to go serious on gaming, played 4 world cups on different games and got around 4.5kk views on my montages, curious thing is that after 8years i still want to be like him. Hope i could say thanks to him one day.
As a high ranked mage (at the time) playing 2v2 and 3v3 I could never comprehend how he defeated warlocks... I didnt think it was possible even though I was tin the top 5% of my server at the time. Pala/Warlock was unbeatable truly. Or warlock Priest? But Watching Vurtne about 15 (holy shit, 15???) years later, I still cannot understand how he 1v1 warlocks... no clue how he ever did it but the nostalgia is insane, good times man
I’am watching this video today, and you don’t how much I’m happy to having played at this part of the game , Wow Vanilla, BC, LK...after that just suxx !
This video never gets old man. Rewatch value is top notch and always will be. I remember when the hype for Vurtnes return in Cata was big, but it was someone posing. Vurtnes Legend will live on forever no matter what happens
Just awesome! he not just shows what pvp was like, he shows what the game was like.. you knew everyone from your server, talkt with your enemys while playing.. you just had a good time. i love it, getting the nostalgia back :)
Soilwork - Rejection Role Hoobastank - Pieces Muse - Map Of The Problematique Village People - In The Navy Celldweller - The Last Firstborn Ill Nino - What You Deserve Zebrahead - Falling Apart Here you go :)
WoW will always be the greatest game ever for me. But youre really missing out on good ones. The last one I have enjoyed so much was the Witcher 3 and Bloodborne. Those 2 are so good.
Seriously, this guy is what made me fall in love with the mage class. Where are thou Vurtne! your mages need you!! Where did he go tho in all seriousness?
KEY OF ALL MAKING/MAKING OF REALITIES docs.google.com/document/d/1ZdeARohdTPfDDPOrIgL1by_DirokUCFrX-3hfwvO4Rw/edit FOR YOU AS LIMITLESS CONSCIOUSNESSES TO REALIZE YOU AS CONSCIOUSNESS ARE PLAYING FORMS PHYSICAL AND METAPHYSICAL
At that time, he was probably one of the best mages around, looking back to it now - it doesn't seem all that special anymore. The skill level compared to those days is way way higher nowadays. Still awesome looking back at these videos that taught me so much.
Me lembro que assisti esse video quando tu largou ele aqui, e aqui ainda estamos. Prazer em velo jogar sempre, amigo. Jogo a 17 anos wow e Joguei fases na TBC de mage inspirado em vc. Obrigado!
I used to play on Sylvanas, too. I remember Vurtne being around, mostly duelling... we spent a summer together though and he told me the secrets of his magical mage brain fluid!
