@@EXOVCDS this is exactly the same as the mk6 Jetta sportwagen S, if you want to add that somewhere it may help someone else that doesn’t realize the 5 and 6 are the same

No matter the generation or model... brake cables seem to always hang up. Maybe that's why they went with electric parking brake! =)

I'm going to be changing brake pads, rotors, calipers and both emergency brake cables on saturday. I'm hoping with everything brand new I can pass inspection because right now both old cables are expanded and I tried to readjust them but they were seized. Same thing with caliper they keep locking and won't push back when you release the emergency brake. We'll see how everything goes on Saturday. Thanks for the quick tips!

Great video...it's the inside consul I'm dreading. Do you know if this is similar to Touran 1T 2003?

The Touran was never available in the North American Market... if you need Service Manual information, I can probably find some for you, but at best, it will only show an "exploded view" of the center console. Service Info rarely shows / lists "step by step" removal of items.

Hey i know this is kind of irrelevant but my mk4 jetta 1.8t shut off on me while driving the other day and now it wont start back up I get no check engine light so i cant scan. I check the fuses which are all good. The relays are just as fine. And im stuck its my daily driver so i need the car. There’s also no o2 sensor wires hanging or anything. If you could help me out some id appreciate it. I am stuck.

If the check engine light is not ON when the key is on... the ECM is not getting power. Fuse or relay. I'm at work so I can't go into detail. Can write more once I'm at home later tonight / after work.

Which relay would it be? Sorry for late response just got off of work. I’ve checked fuses and all looked good even replaced them just in case.

@@cannedsedan Next to the brake fluid reservoir in the engine bay... there's a relay box to the right of the reservoir. Under the cover is the ECM power supply relay (usually has the number 428 on it). Could be that... might be something else.

Any and all input is welcome from fellow Techs! I have lots to learn (I'm the first to admit that). Although I'm on the clock... I'm not on the clock. The only time I break a sweat... is when it's hot in the summer. That's why I still look like I'm in my 20's! LOL
