Well in oregons defense I am a 70+ year old native Oregon drag racer and live less than 50 miles away from this drag strip and did not know that it was happening there was no advertising or promotion, it would have been better attended if they had announced it on local media and put up flyers at auto parts stores
This has been an annual event I've been attending for a decade... and it was packed. If you check my last video, the 'part 1', was 2 days worth of filming. This was maybe 20% of the whole show.
I get it. Unfortunately there was a whole rest of a show (plus managing my own swap meet space) going on so I got, maybe, a third of the racing and not from an angle i was happy with. My next drag race video will be better because it'll -just- be a racing event.
When was a teenager in the 70’s there was a chop top beetle called Pied Piper. 8.6 seconds 3 gears in the Air on a 4 speed. He took King of the Hill against a 1963 Split window 427 Corvette. Of course he had a couple lights ahead but he won.
