So I did go back and watch the whole video and what I said came true! I said it wouldn’t last without a complete stripdown and it didn’t….. I don’t get how it could have run OK with a cam that had no lobes and when you took the cover off, on an engine that had done 500 miles since being built,you should have put it straight back on and given it back to your customer. Now the bloke that built it in the first place will be able to weasel his way out of liability…Lubrication is the most important aspect of successful results with these engines and saying the first start would be done with cheap oil is the way to disaster, should have high zinc content running in oil for the first 3 to 500 miles(heater plugs out and crank for oil pressure then run at 2 to 2.5 thousand RPM until up to running temperature, no idling!!!!!!!) Good quality mineral oil and a new filter for another 1500 miles then drop that and replace with PD recommended oil and another filter. All filters should be inspected for debris and ideally an oil sample should be analysed…… Then, hopefully, with changes every 6,000 or so miles, using good quality VW spec oil a couple of hundred thousand miles should be possible. PS the fuel light was on because it was nearly out of fuel! I’m not having a go at you for any reason in particular but TBH I could see the disaster on its way with the “ camshaft lobe grinding paste” still present in all the corners of the oil galleries and it was just a matter of time before it all went tits up…….

I understand your message but let me explain how it was. Costumer came asking only to change turbo and do our remap. When i seen the cam wear i flushed the engine, cleaned everything snd changed the oil twice. The reason for this damaged was the guy who built the engine used the wrong rods and the valves were hitting the pistons causing the cam wear. Also when we seen the damage on the first cam we advised costumer needed strip and he said no. So we done the job with his words. It was all at his risk. He had to pay for all this anyway because he trusted his previous engine builder.

@@HelderPutoPerformance I stand by what I said pal, two important things, don’t get legged up with someone else’s screw ups is number one! Just put the cam cover back on and walk away!! if your customer doesn’t understand what you’d have to do to fix it, ie full strip and examination not changing the oil a couple of times etc etc, then he’s no good as as a customer. It’s just not possible to get rid of all the bits of steel from the valve gear without stripping it to the last nut and bolt so you were on a hiding to nowhere as soon as you started….😢😢😢😢😢😢

Hélder isto para alguns é fácil falar quando não estão na pele do mecânico! Ainda por cima por teclado é mais fácil ainda! Falam por tentativa de denegrir e como se fossem os donos e senhores! Quase de certeza que se fossem eles a situação ia ser igual, não lhes dês conversa, caga para essa gente! Ps 2060vklr tenho no meu e a fazer belos números! @@fl_interception that is just garbage, I’ve been in the Motorsport Industry all my life running my own preparation business so don’t presume to tell me how to operate. What did I say that wasn’t proved to be 100% right? Every point I made is correct and if your mate has got out of this one without losing a load of cash, because he shouldn’t have got involved in the first place, he’s very lucky. Why should any self respecting engine builder have to work under orders so restricting? “ This engines absolutely knackered and it’s full of grinding paste but you can’t even take the effing head off!! FFS, do what you like I’ve got more important shit to get on with.

Man its content for its Chanel! And no one tel you that you are rong about the engine need off almoust full rebuilt! But you dont now what he makes or not! Iff he flushed or not! Off course he Will not make a step by step only on that “dead” engine, about what he does or not in the midle! And he told to the client that its not service! The client keep its Will, so Hélder end up puting another engine and the client payed, the van gets nice power, the end! Thats the content for the vídeo, than you come teaching and arguing about what Hélder now or not about mecanic, just by gessing the parts off the vídeo that he does not show on the vídeo! Man its Hélder! More than anyone he nows all about Pd engines! Ps i dont now in your contry but in mine, the client hás always the reason on its side! And its Will! Só even iff you told him to do it in another WAY and he doesnt Wonted, the problem its not the mecanic!

I will say 200 bhp is safe if the engine was maintained properly Only need better turbo like gt1752 and clutch

I don’t know mate the customer took it back to the person who built it in the first place and I haven’t heard anything from them I have just been asked to build a engine from scratch

So, let me get this right…..the first start with new cam, bearings and lifters is going to be with shit cheap oil? FFS that’s probably what screwed everything in the first place! What’s the oil pump and all the bottom end going to be like after having a few hundred grammes of ground cam circulating round it? That motor needs a complete strip down otherwise it’ll be the same again in no time…… can’t watch more than the first five minutes and I hope you had a re-think!

I always run my race motor with "cheap" oil something like off the shelf castrol for first start up and run to get rid of all the tiny particles left in the motor from machining , doesn't matter how clean you think it is you won't get it all out with an air line. Then I drop the first oil and start using the race oil

@@blueonblueracingnova I wouldn’t have put any Castrol product in the cheap category and PD VW engines are very particular on the oil they like, the days of put anything in that’s slippy are gone!

Podes lá meter as cams todas do mundo que vão ficar iguais, claramente a altura de valvulas está errada, quem refeticou a cabeça não ajustou em condições a altura da válvula e deixou a válvulas enforcadas. Claro que depois não existe milagres come a touch e a cam. Ou então as valvulas estavam a ser forçadas pelo pistão e claro que também não existe milagres, pessoas penso que é só montar peças, 90% não sabe nem usar ferramentas de precisão, o helder fez o certo motor usado sem estar mexido e assim não existe cá problemas de tolerâncias.
