Just saved me hundreds of dollars. These motors go for $500+. Went out and tapped the motor with a hammer until it started working again! Thanks for the video.
I found these directions very helpful, and I ran into a hiccup. The window rolled down about halfway and then stopped. I found another thread that described pushing down on the glass as I rolled the window back up, and that this could get the window to move farther down. It did help some, but didn’t get it all the way to the bottom. Then I thought about resetting the motor - unplug the window motor for about 30 seconds and then replug it. It works properly now.!
Very nice video. Thank you. I had the same problem. Was able to fix my issue. Tapping on the motor/transmission however did NOT work for me. Also, no bolts loose. For me to fix the issue without taking everything apart, I had to loosen the three bolts around the motor/transmission 1:57 . This gave the cable a bit of play and then I was able to get the window down.
This will hopefully help me 1000%!!! I literally have the exact problem. The window "motor" clicks, but nothing happens. And I even missed the middle bolt. Plus, I can see now that some parts have come off mine, like the plastic part on the top there was lying at the bottom of the door. Thank you so much!
my window was not working but it was clicking just like on this video so I went out and took my door card off and tapping on the motor and Loosen'd the bolts 🔩 on the window motor and tightened them back up and hey its working again thank you 👍
Update.. I did manage up fix the window by removing the panel and gently tapping the motor while operating the switch. Then lubricating the moving parts. Quite simple. Thanks for the help.
Great resource. Motor clicks, Channels lubed. Window still stuck in down position. When I hit the switch I get one click from the motor and then a second click (safety?). will try massaging cables and loosening the motor/transmission bolts. (99 Eurovan GLS)
For driver side door window is stuck in up position and at first there was clicking in the glove box area but now there is no clicking even with car running. I'm looking for the replacement pieces.. 1993 eurvovan mv 5 speed manual
So, nothing was wrong with the motor or transmission? It was just stuck and needed lubrication? I hear a click inside the door, but no movement. Thanks for the help.
Very informative and good directions. I followed and removed panel to get to the inside but the window on my 2003 eurovan is still stuck in the up position. any suggestions...thx
@@michaelr540 I had the same problem. I "massaged the cable" and loosened the three bolts holding in the motor/"transmission". It worked for me! Seems like this is a significant issue with these vans. I have had the issue before and with a some time it loosened itself.
