One other thing to check is the clove compartment under the wind shield in the car right side. If too packed (in particular with metallic parts) the receiver cannot read the car key.
So wait, you just put that thing out and back and it worked? My unlock button is not working but lock button is, and i dont know what to do, i did put the “20” fuse out and nothing happened.
Change the battery in the key fob. I had same issue. I also removed the battery and shorted the positive and negative cable to drain the system for 1hr and all good 👍
I get more confused with every video on this topic I watch. What's the point of the wires on the passenger side being exposed?? Why didn't he close his door to show that it worked to lock also? My alarm goes off every time I turn the key whether to 1st position or car started. My 1st problem was the driver door not locking or unlocking and 1 remote didn't work at all so I replaced the batteries in that one but it still didn't work. I opened the one that partially worked to see how the batteries were positioned to make sure I put them in correctly then it stopped working completely also. I checked the fuses and they look fine.
@@deanmcdonnell6381 If you still have the car i would suggest checking the wires in the rubber tube that goes from the car into the car door. I had similar problems with the central locking not working on the back door and it turned out that the wire was broken. Just fixed the wires that were broken and it workes fine now.
I got a question. On my golf 5..when i lock the car, and then i try to unlock... passenger door keeps be locked outside and inside, then i have to press unlock again so passenger door would be unlocked, i did not had that problem before.. what should i do?
This is programmed into the key fob, it's a theft deterrent so when you unlock your car, someone can't jump in the passenger side. Mine does this and must've been set by someone who owned it before me. No idea how to change it

@@wivaquif Haha, I was actually expecting him to remove it and see a blown fuse, but was truly shocked to see it wasn't? Sometimes fuses need to be taken in and out it seems!
So my central locking and windows are bust, which fuse do I change. whoever Owned my car previously has put so many in; it’s confusing! Someone help; save me from getting ripped off by the garage again. I have fuse checking machine and new fuses. Anyone? 😢🙏🙏🙏
ja mám 1.6 bse... nikto mi nevie zistiť čo môžem mať s ventilatorom na radiatore... ventilator sa mi niekedy zapne pri studenom štarte na plné pecky a hučí hlavne ked je vonku zima v lete mi to nerobí tak často... mal som auto na diagnostike ukazovalo chybu čidla no bolo to vymenené a stále mi to robieva už vôbec neviem čo s tym moze byť bol vymenený aj kábeláž. nevieš mi s tym pomôcť ? auto sa zohreje na 90 stupnou takže to čidlo musí fungovať.
skúšal som si to doma nasimulovat ale ventilátor sa my sám spustil iba ked som odopojil snímač vonkajšej teploty (to však určite nieje tvoj problém lebo to byi ti zároveň zmizlo z klastra. na miesto 8C by tam bolo ----. tak tiež sa ventilátor spustí ked odpojím modul ovládania kúrenia (to ale tiež nieje tvoj prípad lebo to byi si si hned všimol že ti nejde pustit kurenie). možno treba cez diagnostiku kontrolovať snímače teploty ako napríklad výfukových plynov atd. ci to sú realne hodnoty.
@@golfwagen4173 Toto je neskutočná záhada nikto mi to nevie zistiť čo s tym môže byť mal som to uz o 2 auto elektrikárov... raz za deň mi to robí hlavne vtedy ked je zima vonku ráno pri prvom štarte auto musím 2x startovať aby sa vypal a potom ked už startujem v ten den tak sa mi už nezapne ani raz... tak ja neviem či tam bude s nejakym snimačom problém lebo kebyže je to zo snimačom tak by mi to robievalo viac krát za deň ale robí mi to iba raz... a v lete ked bolo horko vonku mi to absolutne nerobi... nechal som aj auto stáť na jednom mieste dlho či sa mi spusti ventilator a spustil sa fungoval normálne zapol vtedy ked má a to isté aj pri klíme ked zapnem klímu tak po čase sa spusti aj ventilator.... takže nechápem. už neviem čo s tym mám robit a ešte raz sa mi stalo že ked som vypal motor tak sa ventilator potom zapol aby schladil vodu ale nevypal sa mi... kebyže si to nevsimnem tak mi vybyje akumulator... podla teba nemôže byť problem v Control module čo je zabudované vo ventilatore ?
Seems most people in the comments have the classic dirty micro switches on individual doors. The mk5 onwards central locking system is trash. I have never had an issue with the fuse though. Take the door skins off and remove each door lock assembly. Clean the microswitches or for about £25 on ebay buy new assembly's and just replace them all for peace of and to save a couple of hours. Will happen again as the doors allow all kinds of dust and crap to enter the units.
Also if you're an opportunity thief, try volkswagen doors. So many owners walk away when they blip the keyfob not realising that 1 or more doors didn't actually lock. Obviously the alarm will go off but who ever pays attention to that? Makes you think. Best dead lock and use the push in the side of the doors to be sure.
What do u mean by microswitches? My key fob stopped working, it just locks the car, for unlocking I have to phyisically use my key, button has no effect anymore. Replaced driver’s door latch mechanism but no success… replaced also batteries in the keys, worked flawless for 2-3 times and then again.. damn
Best comment here imo, all the real videos about this explain replacing those switches. I’ve taken my ps4 remotes apart so I think I’ll try blowing them out with some compressed air
