VW Golf 7 clock spring replacement

biggest mistake you made was taking the clip off the new clockspring, the clip holds it in place and the wheels have to be straight, b4 you fitted it back, due to the clip being removed that's why you had to recenter it, you only take clip off when you put it back on and then center the steering wheel with the marks.

Is there anything I need to consider before putting a used clock spring in? How do I know if the wound position is correct?

Does anyone knows if this also fit to a GTI 2015. Piece number match with it, but the sterring wheel is diferent. It happens to me before, that I order an Injector based on piece number an it was diferent when I was instaling it.

This looks easy to remove air bag but don't do this way. remove the covers and do from underneath. You will be there all day try this method.
