That very car in white was my first new car. I bought it in 1980 and had it for seven years. You have covered every detail perfectly. I know because I cleaned, maintained and enjoyed every centimeter of the GTI.
Greetings from Canada. This build brought back memories of a friend I had in high school. His mom bought him a brand new, black GTI with grey cloth interior, and 5 spd manual, in 1983. I still remember the smell of that new car and how I thought it was the coolest car to have. My friend died many years ago but the memories are still present.
Revell is always so hit or miss. They always have great detail but the fitment is usually extremely subpar. Credit to Revell though, they got me into Tamiya, Aoshima, Hasegawa and others.
Early 2000's when Revell use Korean molds and plastic their models were fantastic. In 1/48 F-15E, F-86D, Rafale M In 1/72 Tornado, F-4 Phantoms and F-16C series still their one of bests
you should try to build the AMT 78 ford truck its a nightmare for fitment, the inaccuracies abound, everything under the hood is wrong, id give a list of problems but i will let it go as it is for now the only 73-79 f series truck kit around
... and in basically every video with Tamiya model I read comments complaining that Tamiya's are to easy, to perfect, that you can not call it modeling if you are not forced to cover half of the model in putty and the sand it off. It seems like it is impossible to make modellers happy :)
@@randomnickify depends on what folks are looking for, try building an ACCURATE model of the TITANIC there are soo damn many critics and rivet counters, model building is what you make it, build it your way

Nice to watch a video i no nothing about. That was modelling on another level. Did a few models as a kid 45 years ago. But I didn't have any of the tools.
Der Golf sieht ja wirklich originalgetreu aus. Deine Details dazu runden das Bild wunderbar ab! Habe als Kind auch gerne Modelle von Revell zusammengebaut. Die Modellbausätze von dieser Firma waren immer vollständig und passend. Als ich einmal ein dreier-Modellbauset von Star Trek Raumschiffen einer amerikanischen Firma geschenkt bekommen hatte musste ich leider feststellen, dass die mitgelieferten Displays nicht passend zu den Modellen waren.

Thats the thing with Revell: You either get a modern, well-made kit that is either a Revell Original or a rebox of a good modern kit by another manufacturer. Or you get ESCII garbage from the 60s/70s reboxed. And both come in the same boxes with similar pricetags, so its hard to tell. You really need to check up every Revell release on scalemates to see if it is worth buying.

I just finished the revell 1/72 bf 109 f2. Its a tiny little thing. But it had a surprisingly bit of detail. I ordered the ju88 from them. Im a bit intimidated by it though.

Its a great kit! I have one I want to build as a rabbit 🐇 much older release though. I had two real rabbits one a gas car and the other a diesel... You did a wonderful job on yours Very realistic!
