Hey thanks for the sentiment.. Unfortunately one will always have dislikes on a video.. Not all see things the same way.. Even the best, or top channels have their share of dislikes.. I do appreciate your support
Thank you for the video, the is actually another option available. Purchase the newer Citi Golf 2007 and upwards 90 degree bracket with swivel point which mounts on the fire wall. Fit the shorter clutch cable and you would have one of the softest Citi Golf clutches. I have done repairs on Citi Golf's for more than 30 years and every rebuild we do gets fitted with the modern clutch assembly.
Thanks for your comment and input. It is appreciated. I am aware of upgrading to the newer clutch mechanism at firewall, but I have also found that There are many Mk1 owners who actually still prefers the older set up. If cable is routed properly, and firewall is solid you can still have a relatively soft clutch. The problem is that Mk1 owners neglect and don't check on these things,so they will end up having a very hard Clutch, thats assuming clutch and pressure plate is not the problem .
I have a 2005 Caddy with new cable bracket setup. But in my case the clutch pedal swivel part attached to the steering rack is tearing loose. I tack welded it before but now seems like it is giving again. Very frustrating need to strip the whole dash almost and steering rack to get to this problem area. Is there after market pedal setup we dan buy to just install without all this hastle. Remove the old pedal setup and install a proper steel setup? Thanks for all your videos (just solved the fuel pump issue) Best Regards Phillip
Firstly thank you for a very informative channel. Learning a lot. My mechanic put q20 down the clutch cable, made a huge difference, I have it done about every 6months.
Hi Grant. Thanks for this tip. Yes a little bit of lubrication also does make a difference... Just not too much... I've seen some people over lubricate and it causes a mess. Thanks for watching. Pls subscribe and share.., . Cheers!
Hey thanks Princie. I appreciate the compliment.. Yes, the hard mk1 clutch is a popular topic., but as I pointed out there are ways to make it softer. Thanks for viewing and visiting my channel.. Stay tuned. More topics coming
It depends if you have the older mk1.., Or the newer generation mk1, ...the older generation takes the long cable and newer generation takes the short cable..
Hi my mk1 is jacking after I changed the fuel pump 4x and is still jacking and changed all filters and the carberraiter is ok and still jacking we else can I check kindly assist
Hi, my pedal comes not to the top completely and sometimes it stays on the floor. I have already changed the clutch cable but there is no difference. Greetings from Germany. 😀
Hi I have a problem, my jetta 2 1992 model started to make noise when I press the clutch. What can be the problem and what can I do to solve the problem?
@@pjs-golfmk1-diy I have never seen a single MK1 golf or Citi golf that has rusted in that area. The poor design and thickness of the steel used is THE single reason the clutch cable develops issues.
On the later velocity models your clutch runs through a box that is bolted to the firewall. They almost always wear out and break like the f@ckin door handles!!!
I have a 2004 citi 1.4i my clutch is low and shifting really bad I did adjust the cable changed the oil seems to have the same problem can you advise me on this problem please....its the new setup/short cable
How's the pedal and firewall.. Could be that it's having a weak spot somewhere... And sometimes need welding... Have u done a thorough check on this yet
