@@lazy4369 just like the lottery, people buy lots of tickets, way more than what the car is worth. Then they give the car to a person who bought tickets. Simple.
I think for most people this car is really fun. You just drove to many extreme cars :D I usually drive a 100 Ps Caddy...when i drove the R it was unbelieveble for me
I drove the mk7 for 3 years. A genuine hootie in the city and short highway drives, but when you drive sportier cars in better roads or track, you notice the problems of driving a fast hatchback. A manual gt86 is more fun than an automatic r, if you can leave without the ferocious straight line speed, and, imho of course.
I’ve been watching your channel since January 2021 and I already think that your one of the best car channels out there. Keep up the good work guys 👍 😀
Great video! I love my mk7 Golf R. I got a kick out of you pulling u turns to demonstrate drift mode, there are literally no public roads near me where I could casually pull spirited u turns like that
@@MacJunior696 Sure, Continental is the second largest automotive supplier in the world after Bosch. Tire manufacturing is just one area. They also develop sensors, autonomous systems, complete hybrid drives for GM and Mercedes, electronics, etc.
6:55 This display panel alone would keep me from buying this car. I do not understand why car manufacturers insist on burying commands for frequently used controls deep into the menu system. Are they trying to deliberately crash me? Give me some switches please or I will not buy (and I owned a 2013 GTI).
I had a nice flip out deck for my nice sound system. This was back in like 2008 so this was a very long time ago. The ease of use was so simple and the ergonomics was prefect. It blows me away that cars for 2022 can't even have simple controls. I feel like I'm going to crash just trying to use the Bluetooth on my stock 2017 car.
Say what you want about the looks of the MK8R, but wow it is one fast car. VW have delivered with that performance, not to mention it’s now a good drivers car 🙌
the interior in the mk7.5 is old and outdated at this point, and will continue to look older as the years go by. The mk8 interior is lightyears ahead. But whatever makes you feel better I guess.
@@blam9346 Well yeah, people got different preference. Some people love old school cars while I totally hate em. But I would choose the mk 7.5 over any new gold R any day, also the old gold Rs are super trash too imo
Interface and lack of buttons breaks the deal :/ in the U.K. it’s as expensive (or possibly more) as an Audi S3 which is the same car underneath but they’ve kept buttons in the interior for better ergonomics
Absolutely not the same car underneath. You're thinking of the Golf R 7.5 and the Audi S3 comparison. Golf R 8 has torque vectoring - Totally different car to drive, totally different characteristics to new Audi S3 which is basically the same underneath as the previous model
my cousin hase one of these with the akrapovic sound sistem and i think it is built for turns and narrow roads. tried nurburgring mode on a mountain road and it's very quick and fun to drive. would definetly recommend over an rs3
Nice Golf and better in some parts than the previous one, but not from the inside / interieur - following my taste! But in a whole = still a competitor in his class and solid build thing, that realy able to let run!!👍🏁🍀☮️🏅
@@rikyoh130 Doesnt make sense because with modern tech, you can get lots of power, look at the 2.9 V6 in the RS4. So if they put a 3.2 V6 in a Golf and matched the horsepower of the 2.0, you are left with a heavier front end and worse fuel economy..
Just casualy cruisin the Autobahn at 270kmh. God i love living in Germany. Only thing missing in this video for the real Autobahn experience is the porsche in your back mirror flashing its high beams at you.
That's a primitive bonnet, even my 2002 Polo had gas struts! Golf is a nice looking car on the outside, although shame about the screen controls. Over 160mph though, insane.
Just what I need. A car that nags and tells me what to do all day long. "Buckle seat belt" "Don't rev your car" "parking brake on" "your wasting gas" Like I don't get enough of that during the day elsewhere.
golf is just perfect.. u cant possibly need more power on hatchback, doin 4.1 0-100, having fkin 2 litre motor and 320 hp. u got the fuel efficiency and the power of 500 hp car.
I have Smart 2008, it goes about 120kmh, 0-100 in 19 seconds, but it sounds inside like yours outside! So yeah, take that! Anyway, I would like to have it one day, who knows, maybe! I still haven’t decided do I really need it in my life. Not sure what one should do with so much power.
My R 2019 mk 7.5 has gas hood struts, but not the power and new improved traction control...my 2019 Golf r has been flawless and extreme FUN comfortable for long hauls 41,000 flawless miles..the 8 has better brakes and better traction and 4wd from audi now....lots of more power
the thing with this car is that it's actually about 370HP, not 320. i've seen a race video between this and a civic type R which is 300HP, and the golf beats that car like it has 500HP and accelerates super fast in all conditions. this car is equivalent to a mercedes A 45 S AMG 4MATIC+ , that one being only a fraction faster in real life conditions, a 416HP car. this golf is a beast, and not really overpriced for what it offers, as long as you don't crash it into a tree or something
