PA stands för region Passau, theese two letters you can not choose yourself, you always have to have the letters where you live, the rest you can choose yourself as far as the combination is free, you can choose maximum 2 letters and 4 numbers. The last letter, the E is only avalible for Electric cars and Plug-in Hybrids, it is free to choose if you want the E on your E-car or not.

@@TriviaChallenge I can't comment as yet, but my Golf Mk 7 certainly made my previous Focus feel like ancient technology. MUCH better build quality, plus a nicer all round feel.....Quieter and better on fuel too. 55 to 60mpg is do-able on a steady run. The DSG box doesn't seem to use any more fuel.

It doesn’t compete with the Model 3 because it’s in a lower market segment. It’s strongest competitor at the moment is the Nissan Leaf although it has far inferior technology to this brand new VW.

@TJ Murphy Thanks but no thanks. I test drove the Model S before purchasing an Audi. If I'm going to spend Tesla kind of hard earned cash on a car it has to be a well engineered and built car first, and technology platform second. I'll probably consider Tesla again when they figure out their manufacturing issues. It's also ridiculously expensive to insure a Tesla. My insurance premium would double if I purchased the Model 3 to the point any savings in gas or maintenance would disappear. Agreed Tesla has a superior charging network but we will need more independent charging options before electrification of the auto really takes off. At this point it's a chicken and egg issue. VW will figure out their software eventually. Maybe that's what Diess and Musk were really talking about for two hours... :)

If you want it in the US, then keep asking your VW dealer! If enough people ask, then they'll see the demand is there......you will be getting the I.D. 4 though, along with the I.D. Buzz Microbus, which in my opinion looks great!

@@BlueSpruce2 Tesla quality has generally always been something of an issue. Looking at it logically, Tesla had no car manufacturing experience, but knew how to do electric drive-trains. VW are pretty much the opposite, in that they have car production off to a fine art, but lack much experience of electric vehicles. Knowing VW, they'll crack it no problem. I did see something on here some time ago, with some organisation dismantling a Tesla Model 3 to specifically look at the manufacturing techniques. On one wheel arch alone they discovered the component count was 9 separate pieces, whereas in many other brands it would have been two or three components. Tesla and VW could obviously learn much from each other, which may be why Elon Musk was recently seen at VW's HQ, testing the I.D.3 - at the invitation of VW's CEO........

@@M20B25-User It is better when you can't deal with a 4,75m long car, or need a proper hatchback and can't afford to fight with an OEM over defects on delivery. But for long road trips it is not. Depends on the user.

I was a pre booker of the ID3 but got fed up with the non communication from vw UK so I bought a Tesla. Most faulty car I've ever had and had taken 6 months to fix. Seeing your car Chris convinces me I made the wrong choice. Looking forward to seeing more videos.

domhnall dods - given how many Tesla’s have been sold I suspect your experience isn’t the norm. I know mine has been enjoyable and without issue

@@DrunkenAfro possibly I know 4 others with model 3, 2 have had no issues, 3 of us have had problems. I've resorted to mounting my phone in a holder to use waze because the nav system has misdirected me too many times. Bizarrely only one of my two phones can connect to Bluetooth so I've had to buy a Bluetooth headset. These are features rather than defects.
