Today we have some new information on the VW ID Buzz LWB!
We have news on the additional length that the LWB ID Buzz will have as well as how the new model will look as well as new SEATING options for the ID Buzz that people have been asking for for quite some time. Lastly, we also have an additional colour option, Cherry Red, but ONLY for the VW ID Buzz GTX, which is scheduled to launch after the LWB variation.

Thanks for the video Chris. I am not sure where you are getting your information from. The Long Wheel Base variant is 248mm longer at 4960mm. I don’t believe there is going to be a 6 seater (2 - 2 - 2) short wheel base as there would be no leg room in the 4712mm length. Can you provide any further comments on your source for these measurements and seat configurations? Thanks again for all the great videos.

I would like to see a 3-3 seating arrangement (or 3-3-2). We have four kids and this would allow us to go on holiday and retain the boot space for luggage. It must be possible as the Buzz Cargo comes with a three-up-front option, so we'd really like to see VW offer that as an option for the LWB. I'm really interested in this vehicle, but it's a no-go without a seating option that works for us.

Yep! Coming next year (reveal likely late 2024, early 2025). It's already been announced, but no firm details yet.

286 miles range really killed this for me. Was really excited to buy one but regularly travel ~250 miles in one day, and that is too close to call. I was really excited for this too .. 😢

I would say 270-290 mile range is pretty standard for electric cars. Only a few expensive ones go above 300. Frustrating!

I placed a deposit on an ID BUZZ almost five years ago. In the meantime, I purchased a ‘21 Toyota Sienna Hybrid that averages approx 600 miles per tankful of gas. Our hope was to sell the Sienna and purchase the ID BUZZ as our long hauler to complement our Tesla, but I’m worried that realistic range for this Van is simply too pathetic for the purpose most people want in a minivan, and - at a premium price. What a shame. VW absolutely nailed the look of this van, but they really missed the mark here in terms of range, which BTW, VW states is 234 miles. While I’m still contemplating buying one, it’s extremely hard to justify giving up an extremely efficient and reliable hybrid minivan for what is essentially, until they sort out their range and efficiency issue, a novelty short haul minivan. And a heat pump as an OPTION??? Wow. Imagine the overhead required to make two different versions of a heater rather than settle on the much more efficient option which is STANDARD on many other EV’s? Ridiculous. If Chinese EV manufacturers ever decide to make a retro looking “VW” van with much higher range at a reasonable price, the ID BUZZ’s time in the spotlight could be a short one.
