Hey guys, in this video we will show you how to remove or replace the Front Door Speakers on Vw JETTA MK6 or VW GOLF MK6. We demonstrated on the front left door speaker / driver side; however the front right door speaker will be almost the same procedure. We will recommend using rivet gun for installing the new speakers. We showed you that you can use a little bit bigger screws and it will work as well. Make sure it does not vibrate and rattle.

Mk6 Golf and GTI owners, do not take off the door as described here. There is a panel that goes from the door handle all the way back to the rear of the door. Start from the front of the handle with a tool like he is using to pop the panel off then you'll see two T30 bits in holes behind where the panel was (three for Euro model I think) and the one at the bottom of the door. Then continue his process at 3:10. The door in the video was already taken off before if the clips came out that easy, becareful getting the clips out. It's a good idea to perhaps hit the dealer and grab a couple extra just in case you break any during removal. You'll absolutely want to make sure the clips in the corners are good to prevent rattling

How do you guys run what appears to be an auto repair shop, yet you use a screwdriver to remove plastic body panel clips? a clip removal tool is like ten bucks. And, you should not be using a metal screwdriver to seperate the speaker from the door panel, scratches the hell out of everything. Other than that, decent video

Justin .Maxwell not only that, they didn't disco the negative cable from the battery to prevent a short after disconnecting connections in the door or attaching the new speaker(s). Hackers and bangers.

Vaughan doing so would cause the radio to ask for a code in such a case you can get way with out doing that. But this is sorta a home made guide I hope hahaha. Better be.

Is there an "easy" way to access the area between the door? I want to install sound dampening and want to put it between the door metal.

If you're replacing with aftermarket, get Metra 1" spacers and year a drill to mount to the door then the speaker to the spacer. You don't need rivets (who the hell rivets speakers?!)

Excellent question - I had my fader all the way to the front before i noticed my front left speaker stopped working. Might just replace it with that rear one.
