It's much easier to remove if you remove the left side engine mount first, both bolts are accessible from the wheel well and takes all but a couple minutes to get the slave cylinder out.
The clutch on my x reg t4 is intetermitant. There's days when it's fine then there's days when it's hard to get in gear and crunches gears. Does this sound like it needs bleeding. I've recently done work on the brakes so don't know if this has effected the clutch as it shares the same fluid reservoir 🤔
Hi. If you have gone under the level in the reservoirfor the clutch , it might be that it have sucked som air in the pipe to the slavecylinder .So maybee you schould bleed the slavecylinder .
Hello,we have a 1996 2.5 left hand drive,we broke down with low fluid,refilled and bled out,but cant see the slave/cylinder clutch isnt great, notch gear change,uses a little fluid,do you have any ideas/Advice, from S&T in Essex. Cheers
Hello. Hope i understand your question right. If it “brushes teeth” and does not disengage properly,there is not enough pressure on the liquid ,probably because the gasket is cracked . I would suggest putting af one on .
Hi ..i have a T4 1998 2.ltr petrol...the clutch starts slipping when engine gets warm....is it possible that the slipping could be just due to a leaking slave cylinder ?? Is it possible that the clutch plates could be ok? Cheers
Hello.Do you mean when you are driving it is slipping or when you are shifting gear . If it is when you are driving it is the clutch. The slavecylinder is only in use when you are using the clutch pedal
I've got a T4 2.5Tdi carravelle. After I pressed my clutch peddle, it doesn't want to go all the way back up, can it be the slave cylinder because the master cylinder was changed
Hi. Have you bleed your system for air when you changed the Master cylinder. ? Or maybee there is not enough brake fluid in the resevoiar I worst case your slave cylinder is dead BG Michael
Hi Michael, I have bleed the clutch when I have changed the master cylinder and the brake fluid reservoir is on its maximum level, so it might be like you said, it could only be the slave cylinder. Thank you. Regards Jan
