I don't know of any tank guards / shields... might be a good business to design & sell some! Someone is making & selling metal tanks supposedly (a bit expensive from what I have heard). I use weather stripping to cushion the tank... similar to this: www.amazon.com/Density-Adhesive-Weather-Stripping-Soundproofing/dp/B07L9ZDKMT/ I cut & stick three 1" x 1" pieces to the tank (top side) and a couple on both tank straps.

@@EXOVCDS thank you for the reply! Do you have any video or info on how to do a power steering fluid flush??? mine is doing the moaning noise close to the rack (no leakage found) i've read in Samba that it could need a flush... so i guess that while i replace the tank and seals i could do a power steering flush or replace the lines as well....

No video, sorry. The reservoir has 2 lines attached... a feed and a return. Disconnect the return and plug the fitting at the bottle. Have someone start the engine while you immediately get ready to add PS fluid to the reservoir as the level starts to drop. Ideally, you would drain & remove the reservoir first, so that you can clean the bottle. Then do the above... let the engine run / add fluid until clean fluid comes out. Have whoever started the engine turn the steering wheel slowly left & right. Shut the engine off once clean fluid comes out of the return hose, attach it to the bottle and fill the bottle to max. Start the engine, turn the steering wheel lock to lock and top up fluid as needed until the level stays level.

Guillaume Laplanche The syncro is much different... have not removed one of those tanks yet. Transmission removal is not that bad (if you have a hoist) and then the tank can be accessed.

I know, I might not have to take it out since it is plastic, I did drain it (5years old gas) and I will try to flush it . Thanks.

There were only specific years ('86 to '88 I think) for the Transporter Pick-up truck... cargo Transporter Vans were available to 1998 I think. No Eurovan or Transporter after 2002.
