www.youtube.co... 3.6 fsi vr6 engine removed from a 7P VW Touareg to replace the gearbox torque converter seal. One of the subframe bolts had been previously cross threaded and snapped in the chassis.
In this case, the gearbox had been recently removed by another mechanic, and the torque converter shifted and nicked the seal on reinstalling. This issue didn't return, no. Thanks for your input though, I'm well aware of the pump bushing wearing out.
What year Touareg was this here that the job was done replacing the torque converter seal ? An what generally causes this work order , or is this from standard wear and tear of using the vehicle which over time wore out the seal requiring replacement of said seal ?
Funny how you see the k-frame drop and the car lift about an inch just as the bolt jams.. then he cranks on the bolt with breaker bar before blaming someone else for cross threading the bolt.. If he would lowered the car another inch or so, the bolt would have probably screwed out with his fingers.
Thanks for your input. The reason for lifting the car with the bolt in was because i knew the bolt was jamned and was trying to load the bolt to get it to thread out. The engine and recently been removed and reinstalled. Tha ks for looking for an issue where there isn't one. I have nothing to hide here and I'm sharing these videos for free. If i had something to hide surely i could just edit out the whole issue with the bolt? I was merely trying to show that sometimes jobs don't go to plan, and that also the human error element is always present when many hands have touched a car prior. The customer was not charged for extraction of this bolt. If you don't like the content, feel free to look elsewhere. I don't appreciate you coming here to bad mouth my workmanship and basically call me a liar. Thanks.
@@FourRingsAuto yes it is. Tourareg. VW have inspected it and said it's coming from the bell housing area and looks to be the upper sump. They did not remove the gearbox.
