Great video and very informative!! I'm building a 1904 with a scat C35 cam (like a 110) & duel IDFs that I'm actually getting ready to do some home port work to....and it seems like there are two views on heads for that motor - #1.) go 40x35 or #2.) go with 040 stock 35.5x32 ported heads. As an experienced VW porter, I'd be curious what your thoughts are on that? I already have some 040 Autolinea heads that I cc'd at 51cc and would hate to discard them if they'd be a great match for the motor. Thank you for such a great Video!
@@culturedredneckgarage3784 nice motor! C35 is indeed nice (close to engle110 yeah) what size IDF do u have? But either way a good ported 35.5x32 should push to about 120hp with good exhaust and tune so I feel I’d lean towards that… the airspeed u got there is “nice” for efficiency (not a lazy motor) A bit more top end could very well be provided by a slight vent size jump depending on ur carb size But yeah I’d use what you have , the 040 do some good clean up like on this vid Send it out for a good valvejob and you’d be all good
@@SRDmotorsports Thanks for the reply! That's kinda what I was thinking and hoping to hear. Who knows, I may up going larger valves down the road, but it at least seamed to me that the most could be gotten out of the stock valved heads with this combo if ported correctly. Whether right or wrong, my carbs are dual Italian 44 IDFs that I've jetted and vented down to 32mm to hopefully compliment the 35.5 valve size as best I could. I know 40 idfs would be more ideal, but these were given to me for FREE many years ago...just needed a thorough rebuild. after figuring my deck height, the compression came out to 9.2:1. The exhaust is a merged tuned exhaust as well, so it seems like we might have a good recipe for a spicy little engine - no road rocket, but a fun and durable motor for my rail. Thank you again!
@@culturedredneckgarage3784 nah man I would run the 44idf even on a 1776 so IMO it’s perfect on your 1904 and yeah good call on the 32 vents I’m no carb tuning expert but that’s good to reference the valve size…I think this set up of yours would be gold!
