Like Holden,Pontiac,SAAB,etc.Thank God they sold Opel/Vauxhall before they trashed them too.GM doesnt have many brands left now.......need to flog itself off soon.
@@rafapenson honestly that's very right. Daewoo itself would've not survived, but why did GM had to ruin the company? They could've earned so much extra money by keeping the company.
it's also a Holden VC Commodore but they let Daewoo buy them and sell them under their own badge, as a matter of fact most Daewoo's are Holdens [EDIT] They also used other car companies cars to sell
@@atotallyrandomgamer9332 for example, polonez xD maybe in Korea or in other China they made good cars, but what was in Europe ... it's better not to ask
lots of futurist car concepts never got real, Daewoo really had stuff to grow up even more than Kia and Hyundai, but yes, the CEO and the other executives maded this brand to go fallout and everything got screw up. Rest in peace Daewoo Motors, because of you (along with GM since 2002), we got very interesting cars worldwide.
@@daewoolanos4609Well, Daewoo is pretty popular in my country considering the massive number of Matiz I have personally seen. Also, I think Chevrolet did copy Daewoo, considering that Daewoo first created Matiz in 1998, then Chevrolet copied it in 2000 or something like that. There is even a Chevrolet Lanos. And also couldn't forget about Holden and Saturn, they copied Daewoo G2X and Veritas and Statesman. I just wish all of these companies get shut down and Daewoo comes back. Daewoo rocks!
I know people didnt really rate Daewoos but in the UK they had a decent service and warranty package .I think they did push that aspect well and other makers had to adapt. For what its worth I had a soft spot for the Leganza, and you did see loads of Matiz on the roads.Shame GM thought rebadging them Chevrolets and charging more was going to work....
Leganza my first job car, fuel glutton, cover head block dirt forever, very good stand road on high speed, car, which very fast, minus, shock absorber body cup, they corrosion and absorber shot in salon, backs wings body very fast corrosion
It's really 호불호 in Korean. It's kinda hard to explain, but this is those cars where some people really like the design, while others absolutely hate it. Me as a Korean, I used to hate that design, but now I think it's a legendary one.
10:09 - Le Mans/Racer Hatchback 1986 looked like a car that we were used to have in Brazil at late 80's - early 90's. It was called Chevrolet Kadett. And at 9:47, this one was used to be sold right here too.
I had an 88 Lemans hatchback 5 speed. I loved that car. It did everything I needed to do. Got great gas mileage (even though gas was about $.89 a gallon in the early 90s) never had a problem with it except for when I Cracked the head trying to drive 5 miles back out of town due to a busted hose. I really like the 90s models hatchbacks with the GSE versions.
Sooo like 15 years ago my dad had a daewoo espero. 10 years ago he gave it away to get a VW Passat. I got my license 6 years ago drove a little with the passat of my dad and well then the neighbor thaugt its a good idea to set his Volvo in our passat... My dad sold the broken passat and bought himself a nice Audi Class C and that was the moment i realized i should get myself a car that i want. Looking online all the passats where pretty expensive so i looked for some daewoo since i thought the espero of my dad back in the days looked great and he had never a problem with his body size (my dad is a 2 meter giant just like me...). Guess what i found for 800bucks with only 47k km on it? :)) So now im driving the daewoo espero which has already more than 100k km on it and it just works like a charm. Repair is easy the most stuff im even able to do and if something big need to be done like the V-belt i just drive to a uncle to poland which will be done pretty cheap over there... Hope i will drive atleast 53k km more with that thing its a blast for real :D
I had daewoo matiz S.E 800cc. With alloys, spoiler, tail pipe ect. I loved it. It was no race car but it was so much fun to throw around corners and rally around in snow. I removed the air induction limiter and the next time i entered the highway with it i achieved 100mph. Took some going though but it also improved acceleration a little bit never knew why they put that air intake limiter on.
Hi.daewoo cars had been sold in Iran since 1990 to 2003 & they r very well known vehicles.afer 2003 they got forbidden coz of US sanctions against my country. By now i have a daewoo cielo & love it a lot!
Tuve un Daewoo Cielo.... Le saque mas de 400.mil km.....y no le hice jamás el motor... Era automático... Lo tuve 18 años... No era de correr... Era un animal de carga....
I feel like part of why they went down is because they did a lot of concepts. Spending on expensive materials. On ideas that they were not exactly known for doing
In Mexico we have Daewoo Matiz as Pontiac/Chevrolet Matiz G2/Matiz, Daewoo Nubira as Chevrolet Optra, Daewoo Cruze as Chevrolet Cruze and Daewoo Gentra sold as Pontiac G3 and Chevrolet Aveo.
Payed the big price of not being confident and sure about their great concept cars... Very superior for launching the company as a developer. The only success about being in the sure pattern is being in the sure shadow. History never forgives that.
Many infos are inaccurate or incomplete. On many cars you wrote 4 speed automatic, but 99% of these also came with 5 speed manual. You wrote Espero appeared in 1990 but you did not write that it was made until 1999. And you said it came with 2.0L engine with 99hp which is wrong. This engine has 105hp...the same car came with 1.5L and 1.8L GM engine. And many other examples.
To seryjna wersja koreańska z 1998 roku. Musso ze zdjęcia pochodzi z rocznika 2002. Evanda weszła w 2002, a nie jak wskazuje filmik w 1999. Brakuje danych prototypów, a one były znane. No i brakuje kilku prototypów: Cabriolet, DACC-1, różnych odmian DEV, Matiz Concept 97, Matiz Canvas Top, No.2, Shiraz i Tacuma Style.
