Man this is very reminiscent of some of the rock I’ve gathered in Utah and been trying to work. It’s so beautiful I’m determined to make some worthy points with it but as a novice knapper it has been a huge hassle. Glad to see you working large blades with the stuff. Excellent craftsmanship as always
I'm good at large Clovis, and I'm in awe of your work. WOW. That is the finest modern point I have ever seen! Is it heat treated? and where can I get 3 pieces of that red agate? I'm in Utah can I drive there? I was crushed when the fragment came off the side up near the tip, but you thinned and brought the piece back to symmetry and it is even nicer as a narrower form. WOW!
Thanks! This rock is from secret spot I can’t share unfortunately. and I only got one large chunk that was pretty tough. Lots of small spalls though. I’m sure if you show your holder lots of folks would like a simple set up to support the larger clovis for direct percussion. If you do it let me know and I’ll make a mention it drop a link in one of my fluting videos.
