remember andrew was about 20 with his new volvo at killin,we got stuck up a hill think there was 5,6 wheelers we where in the hotel trying to get something to eat and andy would not charge it to whm dad donald turned up because of the time we where stuck there,1st thing he said to andrew,these guys been feed? no dad and he got a roasting from big donald,then tried blaming the crane ddriver for going in the ditch ,donald roasted him for that as well saying the crane driver done the right thing trying to get out the dich by continuing to try and drive out ditch, andrews face was the brightest red you could imaging,hahah
That Scalia Vabis 80E was driven I’m sure by Henry McCrystal. It sticks in my memory because I drove it one dry sunny day and the wipers were run by air and they wouldn’t switch off….
Interesting short video, and an insight of how the Company has become such a huge success in the Storage and Logistics industry. Also have the Construction side of the business with livery in Yellow and light blue..Great success story from such a humble beginning. 👌
I dont work for Malcolm’s but spoke to a few of their drivers and it’s shite , £500 a week but they get to polish their tanks on their unpaid breaks. Lovely !
I lift my hat to u sir Andrew your a top haulage company in the UK and i explain why I drive ther UK ropads dailly as a owner driver and i see ur fleet shining light a beacon of how it should be done never mind the Stobbarts and the Jenkinsons there are waste of time never equal you I dop not personlly but what i have seen you know ur inside out you right idea about job,, and nowt get by you and thats the way should be.. so upmost respect you and your sons an d your staff anf keep on waving at ur trucks till the day i pack it in,, but Malcolms will stull be going the way it was meant to be xx
I worked for Malcolm’s at their North Yorkshire depot, good bunch of lads but you are pushed to the very last minute. I didn’t like the way you told what time to start and where to park. Overall I’d score them 3 out 10 to much pressure not good 💩
As an hgv class 1 driver in paisley of many years l wouldn't touch them with a bargepole shit wages. ..Best money on lorries is agencies...l.earn £100 a week more with my agency doing the same job as their regular drivers. Malcolm pays 13quid an hour.. agencies pay 15 -to 20 quid an hour. Because of the driver shortage you are never out of work..last week for 48hrs l took home £670 .agencies work is the way forward for hgv drivers...in todays world and the demand for hgv drivers l wouldn't get out my bed for 13quid an hour
As soon as I see the RHA involved I switch off...neither have done any good or have any interest in scottish Road transport or drivers. Great media video...but far from reality for the majority of people in the scottish haulage scene.
