@@SailorMoonFan92 So? That's like saying "Hunter x Hunter is just a DB clone". And? Are you seriously just now discovering the idea that artists and storytellers are inspired by previous works? Is this supposed to be some shocking revelation that makes me hate W.I.T.C.H. all of a sudden? This isn't a pissing contest; just because you're a fan of Sailor Moon doesn't mean you have to crap on every other magical girl series out there.
@@spheremode3271 I have W.i.t.c.h videos uploaded on here lol I was once a fan but I'm answering your question. The show doesn't get much attention because it's an unoriginal inferior knock off. When people realise that they go and watch Sailor Moon instead lol which is the superior show. It is what it is. It's like drinking cheap generic off brand cola when you can get much better tasting, and original, Coca Cola.
@@SailorMoonFan92 That is such a stupid explanation. You know Sailor Moon isn't the first magical girl series, right? There have been many series like it before it came out. That doesn't invalidate the quality and influence of Sailor Moon, does it? By your logic SM is also a cheap off brand version of Sally the Witch. Stop being a mindless fanboy for one second and take a look at the implications of your own argument. What you're saying makes 0 sense. You're just looking for an argument and unnecessary antagonism. Why? You just could have said "witch is a terrible show and I hate it", and that would have been a less egregious comment.
It's a crime this show didn't get more seasons. Especially since the last episode ends with a tease for the story arc that I grew up reading in the comics.
Wyatt Peterson lol no way. I absolutely love Totally Spies but their crossover with W. I. T. C. H. would be awful. I mean the plots are so different that the crossover won't be good at all.
Hermione Jean Burton over the years I've just kept coming back to this show and watching a few episodes all nostalgic like. I really wanted them to do another series. It was too good! Btw I love your name^^
Thanks. it's a pseudonym based on my surname and my fave witch, it's also my fanfiction pen-name. I know right. I keep coming back to my fave shows from childhood, like Atomic Betty and Danny Phantom.
Hermione Jean Granger oh yeah, HP fan forever baby! Haha. Omg Danny Phantom how could I have forgotten that show?! The new shows they have now on like Nickelodeon and Disney are crap. Just so poor. Lucky RU-vid is on hand to have the great oldies like these to watch!
Tell me about it. My stories are mostly Danny Phantom crossovers with Harry Potter. But I have other stories on it. Here's the link to profile if you want to read any. I have a Kim Possible crossover on there as well. www.fanfiction.net/u/6171555/Hermione-Jean-Burton
MaskedMan66 I started watching the series last Saturday and finished it yesterday, just before i wrote that comment. The show is 52 22-minute episodes, and the only days I didn't watch the show were Saturday and Monday, meaning for 7 days, I watched an average of 163 minutes per day. This was one of the best weeks I've had this year.
I totally agree with the people saying this should continue I remember my older sister was collecting the magazines and used to read me few before I go to sleep and I remember her favorite was tarane and mine Irma and I remember when the commercial came out about having a series we got so excited then season 2 op. was just awesome and the anime god it was amazing I really woshed it had like 4-5 seasons :)
+Apostolos Apostolides The thing is that the show was cancelled because it received too much criticism. I remember when the show was supposed to come out I got really excited because I also loved the magazines. I think they were also trying to keep up with the overseas releases, so those that licensed the magazines in my country began selling the issues twice a month rather than once, so it was hard to keep up with them, thus having a TV show, I thought it'd make it easier, in my mind I thought that they would follow the comic book stories. But they didn't, and I think that's what angered a lot of devoted fans, I myself was disappointed. The animation of the first season was not that great, the characters didn't look that much like the ones from the comics (definitely the ones that looked the most different were Irma, Cornelia, and Will's human form looked too much like her more mature, Guardian self), they messed up their Guardian costumes more or less (Hay Lin had knee-length socks in the comics instead, Cornelia's top was off-shoulder, their boots were different, and when transformed, except for the lipstick, they still looked like their human form mostly, whereas in the comics, they certainly looked more mature), and the stories were completely changed, not just some minor details. The first season followed the first arc more or less, although it had some differences. The way the girls came together and first became aware of their powers was much more different, first of all. I think what made fans angry about the first season was that Caleb's relationship with Cornelia was completely changed. You see, Caleb and Cornelia, from what I know, had a big fanbase shipping them, and there was a lot of tension in their relationship in the comics, and a lot of drama that followed. In the comics, Caleb had only met Cornelia in her Guardian form, and only saw her in her human form much later in the series, which also somehow triggered their break-up. Also, the comic book Caleb never was on Earth, and was kind of afraid of going there, thinking he wouldn't fit in (there was a whole issue dedicated to how Caleb and Cornelia's relationship would have been, had he gone to Earth). Having him know both Cornelias in the TV show, and also travel to Earth and become accustomed to Earth rules was a mistake on the writers' part. The second season was the most inaccurate, in my opinion, full of changes and mistakes. The W.i.t.c.h. girls knew of the Oracle in the comics from the very beginning when they were still battling for Elyon and Meridian (aka Metamoor). There were no other "hearts" in the Universe. Lilian was never "the heart of Earth". Elyon was never the "heart of Meridian", rather only "the light of Meridian" aka the person who was supposed to bring Meridian to its peak of wealth and beauty. Zamballa never existed. Nerissa killed Cassidy on the spot, in front of the whole Kandrakar congress when the Heart was given to her. Halinor was NEVER a part of the Kandrakar council, because Halinor and Kadma accussed the Oracle of knowing what would happen to Cassidy, but still went along with it. Halinor passed away in the series BEFORE the Guardians could even meet her. Kadma lived on Earth was the founder of a charity foundation that she formed with Halinor in Cassidy's memory. Cedric and Phobos were NOT imprisoned on Meridian, instead Cedric was imprisoned in Kandrakar. *SPOILER* eventually Cedric was let back on Earth and managed to redeem himself by sacrificing his life for a new girl that joined the Guardians, while Phobos came back, tried to take over Kandrakar, but when he was almost defeated, comitted suicide. TL;DR - The TV show had too many changes, and I can understand that devoted fans of the comics were angered by them. They were supposed to make a third season featuring Raphael Sylla. In the comics he was a secret agent, collegue with Maria Medina and Joel McTiennan who was trying to find out what was up with the W.i.t.c.h. girls, but didn't know they were Guardians. In the planned third season, he was supposed to be a hired mercenary to keep tabs on the girls, he knew they were Guardians, and he was supposed to steal the heart of Kandrakar. Too big of a change, really. Although I would have loved to see a new season, I would rather it was one that followed the comics.
Panda Kim Thank you soooo much for writing all that! Seriously you opened my eyes and i like how committed you must have been during those days when you found out they were doing a tv show out of it! O_O Really thank you for the info... I was too young to read the comic books back when they had it in stores i remember seeing my sister reading them and drawing them and she had a habit that she would take characters and design her own dresses on them and when she did Taranee she looked soo good!! omg (i apologize if i wrote her name wrong) I see it now from your perspective and i believe you are right! as a fan of the comic book series they should have followed the story line instead of messing it up! It's like a movie based on a book that has nothing to do with the book Basically what they did with Immortal Instruments of City of Bones :P Anyway thanks for your amazing answer once again!! :)
If you make one I will sign it I want this show up and running I remember watching this is my childhood and when McDonald's toy was an action figures of witch I miss this show 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I agree with you!! I want it so much! I'm 18 rightnow but i'm still with this show! And i think animated version better then comic version, we must make something! If we show our wishes and what necessery for that, maybe they make something again! I know they stopt cause of there were not so much people who watching/reading it... I'm missing it too much! It's so different i can't tell, i really don't know how can i tell! Yeah Winx Club is kind of nice too, but W.I.T.C.H. so much better! So how Winx still continue? We should make something, well, we must!!
This show was nostalgic for me I used to watch those shows in Jetix when I was in 2006. sad to see Jetix got defuncted in 2009. also missed the Toon Disney as well.
I've always loved this opening. This is one of the shows that is most memorable to me. 1990's and early 2000's had the best cartoon/anime shows ever!!!
Can't understand why people have to hate so much on shows like Winx or other stuff, Winx is a good show and W.I.T.C.H is a good show, there's no need to fight so much over it
I know that.... I just pointed out that Winx isn't as good as it used to be. But that's because Nick is now cowriting the show and they also hired Nick Jr writers to help write the show.
Interestingly it seems people bitched a lot over second season not following the comics. Actually I think it got a lot better that way. It was allowed to explore points left unexplored by the comics, while the show felt strained when it tried to imitate the comics. It simply could not live up to the comics, so rather it tried to be something different. I'm so sad Orube never got to make her entrance. And, *sigh*, they were going to expand on the Interpole plot, which I always wished had had a larger part.
You can't really see it on this shitty quality but just noticed it from the high quality episodes from youtube; At the very beggining, Will's Wallpaper for her room is a pokemon Gen III themed where there's Torchic, Mudkip and Treecko images Didn't know Will was a pokemon fan too xD
0:29 Wait a second,Greg Weisman? The same guy that was behind Gargoyles,Spectacular Spiderman and Young Justice. No wonder the show was such a hit.I kinda like how from 0:37 the opening takes an anime inspired take and showcase all the supporting characters and main bad guys.
Mostly due to criticism the TV series received from the second season of the show, that had also resulted in the cancelling of the show's planned third season. The Movie's plot was planned to take place between the Second and planned Third Season. :(
lioncircle antilope i know :( hopefully disney will do something with it, they have tried to make it a marvel comic before. I think it should be one of the next either Disney Princess movies or one of the next Marvel superhero movies
I love this anime so much watched it as I was younger but then TV stops showing it and I began reading the manga and collecting the magazine. #Childhoodmemories
Plueschhenne Kräh After the whole thing with Nerissa it became boring. I stopped at a point where the Witches were, correct me if my memory is incorrect. Its been a while, finding toddlers all over town with magical abilities and training them.
I'm starting to like this series actually. The thing is it's one of those ones that turns into a surprise fave . I just started the series 2 days ago. Too bad they didn't get a Series III.
Man, I loved this series... It's my childhood in a nutshell. And to be honest, now I've grown up to play and see the Persona games and Anime series. I'd love to see W.I.T.C.H crossover with the Persona universe.
I love this intro and I like how it isn't flat out the same as the one from the previous season. Also - 1 000 000 views - congratulation. I haven't finished yet the first season, but this may take a while, because the comic is really entertaining.
I watched this alot as a kid and i've collected LOTS of the comicbooks. Sadly i cant find any more issues of them so i dont know if it has stopped or if it's no longer available in sweden. But this was one of the shows of my childhood and i'm glad it was. Hay lin is my favorite :D
The comic ended a while ago. The quality of the comics awhile before that. In fact the last good story arc was number seven. They had one more story arc after that and the rest were just episodic stories.
Linda BenaMarie Read the comics! These two seasons cover only the first two 'sagas' of a total of like ten of the same length. The comics are so much better IMO
Yeah, that's debatable. Several of the comic chapters are just filler episodes on day to day lives. PLus several of the villains in the comics are one off villains. Phobos and Nerissa were way more interesting characters in the show than in the comic.
I was never interested in W.I.T.C.H., but the cartoon was very decent! Well, it was created by the same animators like A.T.O.M., so I knew it can be good. ;) So sad that the animation studio of these cartoons are no more. I would watch one-two cartoon from them.
I am not a Winx basher (I actually like the show) But W.I.T.C.H is my personal favorite. It's more gender sensitive, each character has a difference appearance than a recolor of the same body-type, and it doesn't shove the magical-girl stereotypes in my face like Winx Club does. If the show was written like the graphic novel, it wouldn't have been cancelled.
Pre-teen me at little sister collecting WITCH comics: "Pfft... Please. This is lame. Thank the lord I'm not some little girl like her." A month or two later I'm reading them in secret :D
Lol i see what u eman, I never noticed that before. Tis an awesome game :P The song in FFX-2 is called "Real Emotion". Kl opening tho, I'm gion to have either ffx-2's song or this one in my head now lol.
It's been bugging me for ages, and I finally figured it out - the tune of this reminds me if the opening song in Final Fantasy X-2, titled "Real Emotion."
