W3LPL First Flyby

On June 2, 2016, I had the good fortune, along with Tim, K3LR, to visit W3LPL. Frank gave us a guided tour of his station and antenna farm. I had my DJI Phantom 3 quadcopter with me and was able to capture some video of the extensive antenna and tower installation.
Missing from this video are the many receiving antenna arrays available during the contest season.
Remember, you can never have too many antennas!

Immense! How does it fair up to bad weather? i heard someone say it was damaged in a storm. How much survived and is it all back together now?

I would love to know how much it cost and the annual operating cost. Of course I couldn't afford the coax for one of those antennas.

Hard to comprehend... If a storm is forecasted... how do you sleep? But the signals... The DX... did I say the signals? So Kewl... So Kewl... W1SWL. It appears some of these are fixed and not rotateable... Am I wrong??

That's the same day we got our 130 year flood just a few miles away from me. Record flood levels in the Kanawha and Elk River back to 1888. 8 dead, 3 in my county. $2500 of chimney flashing damage to my house, but that's nothing compared to what others endured. I feel for them, Frank included.

For most all of my videos I use a package called "Sonic Fire Pro". This is an audio editor of sorts with a large library of "royalty free" music in a number of collections. You pay a one time fee to license a collection of songs, and then you can use them as you see fit. The program lets you edit the songs including fixing the duration and changing the instrument mix. For amateur video background work I've found this to be very powerful. Greg
