W40k - Inquisitor Martyr - Crusader Melee Build 

It took me a while to figure out a build for Crusader. I finally ended up giving up on a tank and going for a 2 handed speed demon who survives on the single target skill that gives 10% health for one hit kill. So like wheelin and dealin, it's healing an killin an fast living. Using the assault armor for the jump to increase mobility and the body perk for no suppression loss 20+ speed perk and the perk that does 20+ damage above 50hp and -40 below 50 so I have time to use a heal if I get caught on a boss with no fodder to kill n heal. I got the crit tree up to the skill that add 5 crit an take 5 damage reduction the skill that gets you crit chances for hits until you crit and the melee crit bonus. Got most of the melee "astartes" tree because who don't want to say their character is a fully trained hand to hand he a master of Astarte melee training. I got most of defense but I'm going to reset and lose the deflect skills since I don't use deflect any more. Unfortunately this build probably isn't viable for the hardest difficulties because I don't play on the hardest difficulties but it's a lot of fun on the normal and hard difficulties Ok I ran it in impossible and if I can do it you can. So if you want 2 hand go for the health on kill stuff

Thx for the build. It was hard going upto lvl 30 to unlock faint, but now I'm cutting a bloody path to the end of each mission. Nice one.

Nice build! I personally go Sword and Board (1HSword, Storm Shield) with crits for bosses and nadespam for the trash groups. But I really like that you can theorycraft this game in so many ways.

I love running my movement speed/ cooldown reduction crusader. I find the movement speed tree highly underrated, very fun build

Hello. I am in love with the assassin and this game. Saturday i broke my hand. Sorry this is off topic, so i was upset i couldnt play. Thought maybe it would be easier to play yhe crusader til i found out that my razor mouse had to extra programmable button and I can play again with one hand. Thank you for all the videos. Just got excited and needed to tell someone cause my wife didn't care when, a 47yr old, came running down the stairs to tell her.... Thank you again.😄

Nice! I like the idea of providing a template to modify rather than 'here is how the build is'. I've been experimenting with a deflect crusader and I think the +crit chance is a bit superfluous. Crit chance imo is best when you go deep into it and not nearly as good in small amounts, tho I have no numbers on this so I could well be shown to be wrong when the mathhammer is done. I would redirect the perk/points further into HP/resistances to be tougher, or just more melee dmg if you want to hit harder rather than never ever die.

Lotsa people think range crusader is useless and heat weapons more so so here is my build. My build currently at level 35 is a heavy MULTI MELTA build with supplementary lasgun. The Melta I found has 30% less cd on the 1 skill and 30% plus damage on it so I built around that. Perks - Grinder (no crits +30% dam) Attack Anchor(great survivíaability just stand in place and shoot with shift) Close Quarters Gunnery (Whatever gets close gets 25% + damage) Skills - Ranged: up to Hit n Run. Heat: up to Coolant Fluids without the two crit skills, Single DPS the whole tree, Debuff: all armor breaking stuff, Def: +20% armor. Rest is optional (any plus damage or movement or cd reduction from movement tree) If you are somehow able to unlock the Supression tree there are some seriously good things there. Gear- modify off any crit from gear, change to + damage single target or Heat or ranged or aoe or armor piercing breaking you get the jist of it. What you get is consistent damage and no spikes in output. Pretty tanky with good inoculator noo need for cover. If you dont want attack anchor get some deflect on gear and use the +damage on deflect for the third slot. Use: two skills are chargeble 3 is worth it to charge if you want to dump heat (heat dont build while charging), two is not (without aoe tree). For hordes use 4 on one and watch them burn. On 35 I have 992 dps on my MM single shot. That doesn't count a lot of buffs like Neuro stimulant thats almost always up. survival - get a good inoculator and build it well. getting field surgery for four points is god tier. Tho usually you kill stuff faster. On melee: I was thinking about execution tree when I found me a relic weapon with +100% damage while execution buff is up. Yea I know executions are boring but I like that damage buff and some stuff on that tree. Also the longer execution buff perk is nice. Hmm... gonna go build that now :D

Do haemophilic shock actually work? I tried it loads on enemies with suppression in red and yellow and there was no obvious visual feedback it was applied

i just got into this game. I want to build a bloodangel(red thirst, crit melee, maybe deflect also), is this video still accurate in 2023?

I am currently level 29, done something similar and was able to play 900+ level missions as 650ish. I have a slower but "safer" build, because I try not to die as much as possible pretending I am playing hardcore. Instead of Close combat I have put alot into Debuffs and run hammers to CC to death the enemies: Disorient, Domination, Crippling Blows, Strikedown, Mock attack and demoralize. I grabbed Shield mastery in defence tree, middle horizontal branch to hasten for close combat, shock stimulus in hit point tree (and planning to invest much more here on regen and hp). In the support tree I am currently testing the idea of spending focus to gain HP back, with CD reduction on focus skills. Lastly I have chosen the puritan path and will probably max that tree if I have enough points. All in all I deal a good amount of damage and monsters are easily stunned.

Here’s a noob question! What’s the best build to perform regular executions?

This is a really cool looking build! I have a question though in terms of skills - how easy is it to switch them around? I'm currently making a ranged build, so SP would make sense speccing those trees, but are they easy to change later if I want to change my character around? Or only with consumables I've seen. I guess - do I have to pick a path and stick with it?

Hello there - it's my first time with W40K what suspension and focus in that game is - I mean how it's works ? Edit I rlly try to unlock "Burnished Weapons" but it's take forever or it's a bug because I can't get that perk...I''m 11 lvl and still nothing - any tips ?

NIce Vid, glad u didnt slam the Sader too hard . This build really shines at 70% deflect, and there is a relic perk that cause single target dmg to splash over onto nearby mobs, making this even better. It wont win the dps race, but u'll live longer than most ( Unholy Cathedral anyone? )

@airsickhydra You mentioned power sword, axe, and hammer. What are your thoughts on a chainsword? Seems to be great for taking down their suppression quickly, but I'm not sure how it affects the "on every hit" type skills since it's more like a channeled sort of thing?

Im doing the 2h sword crusader WW build (get evritinh from the aoe tree, the crit tree get to the last buff from midle from the movment tree get all the cooldown points not the movment speed bufs the rest in defence tree )on the weapon get the life on kill perk ,cest get the imuniti 20% proc chanse and on the buton 3 get the shield (4k) dono the name .As for perks get the 41 lvl perk that make u allways green on supresion 20% movment speed and the 5% dmg on kils that staks have fun doing 1700+ in under 3 min

I have a question, is the feint mastery equal to the enchantment of the ax turn your deflect value into an equal percent of damage bonus ? if so, i could use a different perk and get the same effect ? thx

Hey Airsick. May I ask; is the crusader competitive at very high levels? I ask as the pervading view in discord is they can't do the top end content, at all (or if they can, it's painfully slow compared to the other 2 classes).

Hey, big thanks for the build, was looking for one. I have some questions that you might be able to answer: Do you know if Impact Necrosis (Physical tree) and Expose Weakness (close combat) do stack? They both apply vulnerability. Also, the Defense Tree has a skill called Defense Stance...which lets you convert 25% of the damage dealt to you to your supression instead...if i use augmented Body 2, which sayss that supression never gets decrease, do i get 25% more damage resistance that way?

I really love your content buddy, really helped me out your old melee tank build as a foundation and core to my build. that said with all the nuances and viable of most imaginable builds, i myself am rocking a melee tank two handed battle axe which IMHO is by far the best melee weapon, it does everything, armor breaking, bleeding mobility skill crowd control and what not... also focused alot on heavy dmg and i menaged to respec my relic axe to a unique status that allows me to heal the entire damage dmg from my killing blow also using aumente body 2 never makes me lose suppression so for the most part i cannot be stunned, slowed as often and being a DMG powerhouse i rarely and down of my max HP as im constantly healing HUGE chunks of HP. I dunno know when war zone arrive if i'll be as effective as the difficult grows as i relly alot on last hit dmg. this build is so good that at the cathedral challenge i cannot go past 20 minutes simply because the game crash as i imagine because i run out of space for loot.

This little fellow while cannot compete with the other two classes in clear time, does impossible purges within 5 minutes, 4 if I have Initial D soundtrack playing in the background. Note that the stats doesn't reflect dream gear stats as my funds are now redirected to my heavy bolter crusader.

Is this still viable in 2.0?

Wouldn’t a deflect field work better since it can regen? So it would soak up much more damage.

i noticed something. i think dot effects from melee weapons are not properly aplied. you never see the dmg ticks as long as you keep hitting the same mob. they start ticking once you dont hit them anmyore tho. could you doulbe check that for me to see if the cc effects that come with your build are applied proper to the mobs? otherwise we would lose out on a lot of dmg and dmg boosts that we should get.

You mentioned you found deflect to be pretty powerful. Have you experimented with 2 hander at all? Im only level 13 at the moment, but quite enjoy my great axe.

Am planing to modify this build for shotguns, since it also benefits from short range combat

im still currently rather low lvl dont always have a lot of time to play but im running with a 2handed axe and i have to say im loving it. was tempted to see if you can run with 2 one handed axes instead of sword & board/axe & board (doesnt quiet have the same ring) :D

Perhaps you could do a video guide based on Attributes on specific weapon types. Seems to be the distinguishing factor for builds.

I've been hearing that grav-gun crusaders are pretty bonkers right now. I haven't started a crusader yet to find out.

The perk that gives your deflect to bonus damage doesn't work. So many broken things in this game it's a real pisser. I was doing a similar build and even found a power sword that did the same thing as the perk. It doesn't work either. =/ I submitted a bug report hopefully they get it cleared up.

Are there any viable builds with crusader or assassin that utilize a melee weapon in one set and a ranged weapon in the other set?

@AirsickHydra Wouldn't Feint Mastery be a shoe in for this kind of build? I would think that +70% damage bonus (due to deflect %) would be more impactful than say Frenzon Dispenser. I like the build, just seems like maybe an overlooked mastery for this build.

Can you do any of this or even play the game offline ? Or do you need to be online for all the content?

is this game worth picking up on sale or something? I have thought about getting it, but all the bad ratings put me off tbh.

How does Deflect interact with melee attacks? Would it be worth having a two-handed weapon for those situations?

Heavy bolter is trash as hell . Lol. Been trying to use heavy sword with physical damage tree maxed and execution maxed . With crit tree maxed.

I appreciate the guide man, but telling us that we can also put points in this this and this, or go this route and do this this and this, and swap this with this and take these points right over here, it's not a very viable guide. I got left with nothing. Just do one build. If you have other options, do another video. And then do another video. More views for you, and more builds for us. I want to be a Sader tank, yet this video only confused me more. And why didn't you talk about the Puritan/Radical path? There are some VERY good perks in Puritan three.

are you sure the "physical tree" works on conventional weapons like bolter?
