WABC TV operates on Channel 7 by authority of the Federal Communications Commission. Now, speaking for the entire staff, this is Wally Parker wishing you a pleasant good night, and inviting you to join us this morning at 6:25 for more outstanding entertainment on Channel 7. And now, ladies and gentlemen, our National Anthem."
I was listening to the rabbi's comment and thinking this would make a comforting message to someone in a troubling situation. If only it were detached from the subsequent mention of the WTC...
It wasn't uplifting at all. And quite unbiblical. You indeed CAN have life without death. It's how God first created us in the garden. This garbage of only being able to appreciate the good because of the bad is just nonsense. In heaven we'll be perfectly happily with no pain and suffering and death and this is how God intended it all along.
@@esaunders07 I guess technically, you can have life without death however, the rabbi was discussing what's currently true in our fallen world and not that of when we get to Heaven.
@@esaunders07 You people still really believe all this? This is sickening to imagine. Bible was just a book, a fiction book at that written probably by some lazy delusional man or woman to promote a guy who lost his mind convincing others he was son of a God or something like this. Just look at things from logical side. We are being used and trapped in our own minds to believe this stuff. And that's exactly what religion of any sort wants to achieve, already achieved and can easily keep going. What they want us to believe is that there is no evolution and all the current knowledge of biology and chemistry that we posses to prove that evolution does exist and it does happen is not true. We may not have known all of this in the past and we may never know how everything really started for sure, but we can have bases for more or less logical theories rather than pure fictional assumptions of life after death and the one creator.
Be careful! There are subliminal messages built into the flag. If you play it at 0.25x speed, it says: "Don't watch the other stations. They stink." (just kidding)
This was a far cry from the sign-off sequence from WABC only a year before. Rabbi Potasnik's presence on the "Morning Message" was but one example (for some two decades up to 1982, WABC staff announcers rotated handling the sign-on and -off sermonettes for the station). Also note the start-up time - 25 minutes after what it was a year before, per: watch?v=p3ZLAC_dyAI It would seem by this time, the sign-off became automated, with Wally Parker heard every early morning.
Am I the only one who gets a bit of a chill seeing the soldiers appear JUST AS the announcer says "And now ladies and gentlemen, our national anthem..."? Like they were in the TV waiting for us?
Now, when some stations "sign off", instead of going off the air, they go into INFOMERCIALS. Then after the INFOMERCIALS, the station then signs on for the broadcast day.
