@Trantor The Troll Actually my current Huion is good. Just as he say at the video, Huion improved fast, so it means that their past products are crappy but able to improve to be close to wacom. Wacom monopolized the drawing tablet industry for a long time, Huion is just starting so lets give it time to catch up.

Glad to see, after so many years, since alternatives starting popping up. They have now finally reached at a point, where you can actually argue picking up these alternatives, without too much worry. And compared to a few years ago, these are far far better now. On the other hand, we also have Apple's Ipad line with Apple pencil, which at times can give you the whole package for not a too bad price. Along with Wacom, finally making better options themselves, although still pricey AF in the top tier line. Other than that, great times really, no longer are we stuck on only one company for good drawing experience. Especially with cheaper laminated screens starting to pop out, we can finally get those too! Low parallax and more precision. Nice!

Khalid Sharaf El-din businesses everywhere will buy Wacom. It was only a few years ago they had 80% of the global market. Even if it’s not that high anymore, they are still by far the biggest player in the game and STILL every drawing pen display gets compared to wacom. When companies start buying Huion then Wacom will be worried but that seems a long way off still.

fuckyoumorgy hands down I would pay the extra for the Wacom tech. A lot of the issues that arise happen a few years down the road. When your computer gets updates etc. The Wacom offers better stability down the line. Not just with software either, the hardware tends to be better quality and lasts a long time too.

As someone who had only been using wacom for over five years, the price point is way out of line. They're losing features, the specs are comparable to way less expensive alternatives, and the drivers have always been notoriously bad. Only thing that can make a case for wacom is the build quality.

to anyone who wants to know, huion actually does sell a "USB-C to USB-C" cable made specifically for the Kamvas 13! its one of the optional accessories you can add to your order when u buy from their store, right next to the optional stand! its like ten bucks, i think, so no more sanding required lol. uh, downside to buying all the accessories tho is that whatever section is in charge of packaging has decided to include a free drawing glove with every accessory? i ended up with three gloves that just kind of. exist, now. in a drawer.

i have to share this as i had a bad experience with huion. first ever display tablet i ever bought. i got 5 days ago. honestly out of the box and using it, it was really nice and its a pretty nice tablet. i do love the feel of it and i was really upset to find that the kamvas 2020 for me had a constant disconnecting and reconnecting issue. tried on different computers and still had the same issue repeat. literally tried everything. after running out of ways i could try and fix it. i gave up and am now returning it. This disconnection problem with the 13 inch kamvas seems to be a big issue. you can find a lot of people on the reddit talking about having problems with it. i was probably one of the few unlucky ones who got a faulty one. but i do warn potential customers that this could happen to yours, it also might not but, the fact my partner, and one of my friends who owned a huion had issues with it. huion doesn't seem all that reliable. for the record i don't think wacom is that great either. but you might want to do some research into all the main issues the tablet brands seem to suffer from before purchasing.

I will never buy another Huion again. Little story, I brought my first Display tablet which was a Huion and it was pretty decent as seen in videos until, after 3 days of having it and only using it once, the pen started hovering over the tablet. So before the pen even touched the tablet it was drawing. I looked up videos and people said they fixed that by contacting Huion, So I decided to contact Huion. They wanted me to BUY another pen even though the pen i brought with the tablet only worked once. It didn't even last a week. It was my very first pen screen display tablet so you could imagine I had no idea what I was really doing in the first place. Huion didn't seem to explain well enough. When I got Wacom one it provided more clearer instructions for me even provided a video. Overall, nothing will probably change my mind from a Wacom. It will always be the one I end up with. My former tablet was a Wacom Bamboo tablet and it lasted for a long time, still working. Brad, just ran into another video about the Kamvas 13 (and 12) being able to run as a pen tablet! Just curious about wether you knew or didn't think it was worth touching on. Jjust thought that was an amazing feature since the Intuos Pro Small is the same price as the Kamvas 13 and doesn't have a screen to draw on.

Wacom have always priced their stuff like Apple. Fortunately the old tablets at least, were bulletproof. I'm still using an old Intuos 2, previously an old pre-USB Wacom ArtPad II lol . Thinking it's time for an upgrade, which is why I ended up here :) Thanks for the info. I think I will be getting a Huion since I still mostly do traditional art as much as I can, but feel a modern tablet might make digital art a little more fun.

Like this is not related to your question but i am a happy owner of an xp pen artist 12 pro. Its the best graphic tablet ive had. It even beats the wacom cintiq 16. xp pen has a lot of features that are pretty useful and the tablet also has shortcut keys, not like the wacoms. They newer wacoms which are muchbetter than the old ones are pretty pricy and do not have any shortcut buttons unless you buy the extra shortcut key remote. Instead of buying a pricy wacom with not as many features as the xp pen artist 12 pro, buy the xp pen artist 12 pro instead because its a good price ($259.99)

I’ve owned a Huion before but unfortunately I’ve had problems- from not recognizing pressure sensitivity to a lot of parallaxing. With the Wacom One the only issue I had was having to buy a separate Mini HDMI display port adapter for my Mac since it’s not included. Other than that it worked pretty much flawlessly since then. Think it all comes down to what works best for you ^^

@@inbedduringcovid3005 using the Wacom One is fairly straight forward but the only thing I recommend is (and I mentioned this in my initial comment) is to get a mini HDMI adapter if you use a Mac (as this is not included with the tablet and Mac doesn’t have a regular HDMI port). But other than that it’s fairly straightforward to set up. If you register your product through the Wacom driver you can install CSP (Clip Studio Paint) drawing software

one thing i really dislike about the huion kamvas in my experience is that even though it is a laminated screen, the pen calibration is absolutely terrible. angle your wrist differently and your cursor won't align to the pen's tip also my huion kamvas pen broke down on its own after 4 months of usage despite taking care of it like it's made out of diamond glass, while my almost 3 years old wacom intuos pen is still 100% working even though i've smacked, dropped, shook it so many times overall i'm glad wacom alternatives are doing their best to compete against wacom but for now, i'm sticking to wacom's build quality. even though it's a bit more expensive, the price is really worth paying in my opinion

Would be great comparing a non-display vs display drawing tablets. I've been using Wacom non-display drawing tablets for more than 25 years and is hard to imagine what would be the advantages of display drawing tablets. If the display tablet will be used with a laptop or a computer with a monitor I don't see any advantage of the display tablet unless its screen is larger or with higher resolution than the screen of the laptop or computer monitor.

I already have a tab s4, but wouldn't mind an affordable tablet like this to give me an extra 4.5 square inches of drawing space when I'm wanting to get more serious into creating comics. But, since mobile drawing apps are so touch focused, I'm really gonna need one that gives me touch as well as pen input before I can justify paying extra for something my tablet technically can already do without the extra purchase That is, unless, you can use your tablet off to the side for pinch zoom and gesture features like that while using the huion for the actual drawing. Anyone wanna clear that up for me?

I've been using graphics tablets since I was 12 years old. I was always an avid and loyal Wacom customer, I still have my Wacom Intuos Pro to this day. In 2016/2017 I tried investing in a Huion screen display, and like what you mentioned, I couldn't get past that parallax, no amount of adjustment made it better for me, and the screen, color and drawing quality disappointed me to the point that within weeks of purchase I sold. Wacom has honestly dipped in quality these past few years to the point that I've now decided to chance Huion again, compared to their earlier models, in both overall design and productiveness they've seriously stepped up to the plate and the quality difference is showing. Here's to the Kamvas 16 on the way hoping it'll exceed my expectations!

I'm interested in achieving either a HUION or a GAOMON graphic tablet, but I don't know much about them, are they compatible with other software, or they come preset with their own? Do they have an incorporated battery, cause I would like to use them outdoor if possible... It would be nice if I had the option for that. I thought that maybe you know better, as you are more experienced than I am, as far as I can see...

Brad. Do you test these as the only monitor or hooked up alongside a 4K? Just wondering if these newer drawing monitors work well with 4K dual setups? My monoprice MP-22 is 1080p and with my 4K monitor the driver screws up unless scaling is turned off on the 4K completely. In the driver (which is the same one used in many of the other brands) I can choose just the 1080p screen as the drawing monitor, and in Windows display settings apply scaling to only the 4k display, but the older monitors still mess up the pen (off by 3-4 inches and so is the calibration menu) with scaling on.

How come nobody talks about the drivers? Like the software is just as important as the hardware... The reason I don't like huion is I lost 100$'s with defective cabels and bad drivers that they refused to replace. And shipping is a nightmare. Edit: also why do alot of people say "not sponsored but they sent me the product". It's literally the same thing, also they might send a reviewer copy. Which most people buying won't get Lastly, if this comment doesn't get deleted. How come there isn't any battery test or like other important requirements to get started. I promise Mac users aren't getting all the details
@SnowblindOtter
@SnowblindOtter 4 года назад
1: Everyone's personal experience will differ, and from what I've seen Brad focuses on the hardware aspect because that's where everything hits the road. Drivers can be patched, a crappy piece of hardware can't.. If nobody is talking about it, it may be isolated or rare enough that the reviewers haven't experienced it. Huion drivers are well-known for having driver issues, but I've personally never heard of defective cables from Huion. From XP-Pen? Sure, but I get my feed mixed in with furry artists a lot on Twitter, and I haven't seen any significant issue with cables from Huion tablets ever. You just might be very bad at doing your homework before buying a product, you should get better at that. There's no excuse in today's world to ever make an uninformed purchase... and if you want a real issue with drivers, maybe you should turn the critical lens on Wacom drivers as well. They may be nice, but it's been discovered this year that Wacom drivers are collecting a lot of information on your computers, and in some cases without your consent. Details can be found here: robertheaton.com/2020/02/05/wacom-drawing-tablets-track-name-of-every-application-you-open/ 2: You have absolutely no understanding of the difference between a Sponsorship and a Review Item... he's being sponsored by Squarespace, they paid him for the promotion half-way through the video. While this whole video serves as a more-or-less free advertisement for both Wacom and Huion's products, they didn't pay him for either of these in any way other than shipping him some free stuff so long as he's being honest. All they want is for him to play with it and share his thoughts. Cases like this where he's able to keep the product are the exception to the rule, however, most of the time a company will want the product they send you shipped back after a certain amount of time. It's also important to remember that a lot of reviewers who claim to purchase things out of their own pocket are lying through their teeth to keep their reputation up with their large audiences, and were actually paid under the table by the company of the product they're reviewing to not only say they bought it themselves but also _not_ disclose that the company paid them to give a positive review. 3: The system requirements would be good, you have that, it would be quick to throw into his video and it wouldn't take anything away, but at the same time you'd have to be an idiot to not realize that all of these tablets will work well enough on your fairly average notebook no problem. Virtually any computer made after 2010 will happily use these devices. Hell, I used to draw with a Wacom Bamboo and Intuos Medium on an HP Mini from 2007 running Win7 Starter, and my only limitation was the 1.2gHz processor and half a Gig of RAM that couldn't run Photoshop properly, but before I wiped the damn thing for a friend it easily worked well with my 2019 XP-Pen 15.6 display. If your computer can run a USB mouse, it can run the tablet, it's your responsibility to make sure the drivers are compatible; that being said, you can go out to Walmart and get a 400 dollar laptop and start drawing right away with a plug-in tablet. Though, you can shove right off about battery mileage and specifics and your promise that "Mac users aren't getting all the details.". Any Mac user with half a brain in their skull knows that they have to check the specifications of any product they want to buy for their machine _before_ the put up for it, and anyone who doesn't do that is a moron. On a more directly inflammatory note, virtually nobody uses Mac for art anyways compared to Windows. Sure, Huion does account for Mac and Linux in their drivers, but the vast majority of art programs and drivers for hardware either aren't coded for Mac at all, or don't work on them properly(case in point: Photoshop. It's NEVER worked properly on Mac, that's been common knowledge for like 15 years.). If you're doing art on a Mac, you got short-changed by whoever gave you that computer dude. As far as battery life goes, too many variables. Battery mileage will depend on many factors; the computer brand and model, the tablet model, how many applications you have running, how heavy those applications are(some drawing programs are lighter than others.), what your power settings are, how many devices you have plugged in, what hardware is mounted to your motherboard, how bright your screen is, and even how well your battery was made before it was shipped out of the factory.
