The fact that Simone and Seojeong moved to the chair for second and third place respectively to let Rebeca sit in the first place seat even before her scoring came in is the best example for true sportsmanship and very wholesome!
It was just in the last couple of days that I was wondering whether she would go to the first place podium out of pure habit if she got silver or bronze. That would be the ultimate embarrassment. I could totally see myself doing that if I were in her place, and I would be mortified and never live it down.
I would love to see her and Simone competing the Amanar + Cheng combo in the next year. It would be amazing to see the best 2 vaulters ever doing the same combo.
@@macdealer7936 I don't think so. Maroney had a better Amanar than Rebeca but she could never perform a Cheng close to what Rebeca does. While Blles, even her Amanar is better than Maroney's
@@gymnasticfan9148 Produnova is the only one that actually landed Produnova skill on an era the apparatus were smaller, the springs too, and it was overall harder to perform skills. Do your research, the springs became larger and bouncier each era and apparatus bigger and safer and with inclinations to make it easier for the hands to fit and not miss and push higher. So we can't actually compare gymnasts for different eras, so doing the Produnova on that era is legendary. Mackayla has the top 1 vault of all time on London 2012, that's enough to place both at the top.
Sorry, I don't understand your comment. Do I sound surprised? On the contrary...I love latin gymnasts doing their way to be with the best of the best !!! .@@kedsonsouza6255
What an amazing vault final, everyone performed well. Simone left an opening that only Rebecca could overtake, and she did so beautifully. 2 top athletes pushing each other to their very best! Also so fascinating to see Simone rely on distance to land her Cheng, and Rebecca using more height.
Lmao Laurent"s facial expression...he already knew when Simone hit the board that she had way too much power. Love Simone's attitude after the fall. She is truly extraordinary.
@@catinabox3048 I think that he is so used to Simone recovering from over rotation that he didn't think he needed to do anything lol. Just my theory anyway.
So glad Yeo finally got her world medal, hopefully she medals again in Paris. If she hits her own vault and upgrades to an Amanar, I think she can be a huge threat for the silver
Yeah I agree with the commentator that you get even more respect for Simone’s abilities when you see a mistake like this because you can really appreciate how truly hard these skills are. To land that double pile well at all, like she has been doing the whole competition, is really insane.
As soon as Simone fell on her first vault, I had a feeling Rebecca would repeat. Well done, bravo!! It seemed almost bizarre not to have Oksana in a world vault final… or is that just me? It’s simply wonderful too to see the camaraderie between the athletes these days. In previous eras the athletes acted almost aloof from one another, but today they are nearly all friends with each other.
That was a great final! Awesome attitude from Simone after the fall. Kinda reminded me of Maroney falling in London 2012, but with a much different facial expression 😂. Congrats to Rebeca for another well deserved gold as well!
@@tugasaku2643true, she has so many medals. Maroney must have been devastated in that moment, so I don't really hold her face against her. Simone seems genuinely happy for her competitors though, so I respect that a lot
Simone falling doesn't surprise me. When you're doing the hardest vault in the world, you're gonna fall sometimes. She pushes the limit more than any gymnast in all of existence. And that in itself is the impressive thing.
@@Thealvitarebeca had 3 acl surgeries Before all these injuries rebeca was training tty and other harder FX and BB routines. But we will never know how far she could go injury free
huge first vault from simone and second vault, too much adrenalion on 1st. both are beautiful and impressive, great job rebecca and simone... i hope u both enjoy the process and other gymnasts
FELICIDADES A ALEXA ❤❤❤🎉🎉😊😊😊🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽❤❤❤
Yeo won't be able to afford to water her vaults down at the Olympics. If she does so, then she won't medal. The vault field will become much, much deeper at the 2024 Olympic games. Yeo will need to perform her original vt if she wants to have a chance to win any medal. Simone will not be able to afford a fall. The great vaulters & all the vt specialists will be in full attendance.
SIMONE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I’VE HAD THEGREAT OPPORTUNITY TO SEE HER COMPETE (IN PERSON) THREE TMES NOW AND SHE JUST BLOWS MY MIND. The power she has is incredible. Congrats to Rebeca. Can’t wait for the vault final at the Olympics. Still got silver; kind of reminiscent of Makayla Maroney.
Agree, it was a good vault final. Now, at the next event final, I want every competitor to hit. Every gymnast performs cleanly just to make things really hard on the judges!
Rebecca Andrade is the only woman that could compete with Simone Biles in this era. I prefer Rebecca to Simone only because of her lines and musicality on floor, but Simone is still the GOAT. That is undisputed.
I mean if Simone wouldn't have gotten a deduction for her coach simply being on the Matt (without touching her) she would've won gold despite the fall - so I would still say that, usually, Simone's biggest competition is still herself But Rebecca is obviously amazing!
@@denniswarrink4761sry, but i dont agree with the difference of a 6.4 new vault.. and cheng that reducrd to 5.6 .. looks like FIG did it just to give this 0.5 discount to Biles. They destroyed amanar and cheng..
They are all stunning. Rebecca's execution is amazing while Simone's first vault is the main cause why the judges giving her a 500 deductions. In addition, simone's first vault is really hard to execute however she's awesome and remarkable. My idol ever simone. Love you ❤
This was quite the competition! The display of sportsmanship and respect, among everyone, was so nice to see. It's more than understandable that Simone can't always stay on her feet after landing that vault, I was really glad when the NBC commentators didn't dwell on that fact or act like it was surprising, but focused on how good she looked in the air. It's nice that it gave Rebecca an opportunity to get the gold in this meet, because she's absolutely top notch. But I can't help but feel like the half point penalty Simone took for choosing to have her coach at the mat for safety reasons feels excessive...if it weren't for that, she would have gotten the gold. But she was aware of that ahead of time, so I suppose it's fair.
I am pretty sure Andrade originally had an Amanar planned for her 2nd vault as that is what she always does, so if Simone still falls, but doesn't have the coach penalty too and has a higher average, i am pretty sure she does that, and with the advanced difficulty would make up more than the 5 tenths Simone gains without the coach interfence, and still win. She went last and obviously did only a double yurchenko for the 2nd vault as the lead score was not that high.
@@rolandgreen7484 "I am pretty sure Andrade originally had an Amanar planned for her 2nd vault as that is what she always does." REALLY? When did she warm up that vault? I am really curious because I find it hard to believe she will attempt that vault without warming it up at all.
even though Simone only lost because she fell, I think it's cool that 10 years later she won the same medal when she lost to Maroney. biles, andrade and maroney are easily the best vaulters ever
Andrade doesn't come close to Maroney or Biles. She hit the jackpot today...good for her. But she doesn't consistently execute these as well as she did this time. She got lucky.
A fall from overrotating is actually really safe. Much much better than a fall from under rotating which will kill her ankles and knees. The fact she has the power to overrotate this vault is what the real story is. It’s insane.
Not that it would have made a difference, but the fact WONG got devalued for saying she piked it, yet somehow Ellie Black essentially does a FRONT PIKE full that never ever gets devalued is mind boggling to me.
Well done!! Congrats to Rebeca ,im so sure that Simone will win this ,but ypu never know ,things happen ,even tho with that huge chunk of deduction for fall and for coach being there ,Simone still manage to win Silver ,still congrats to simone But now Congrats and respect to Rebeca ,the competition is thereeee finally
Bravo for Brazil 🇧🇷 Rebecca Andrade, is amazing. Olympic champion and now 2 times World champion. Simone Boles should have been in 4th place . And Moreno from Mexico 3rd place. Simone had the coach there and completely fell down.
Queen Simone had a rare hiccup here with the fall on the 2 piked Yurchenko. I still believe she is the greatest vault champion in the history of women's gymnastics based upon her entire body of work. She didn't lock this medal. Simone now has a rival. Congrats to Rebecca Andrade already a history maker for Brazil! She is for real and she's one to watch for the 2024 Olympic games. 2 great vaults from Leanne Wong. Alexa Moreno is super powerful with the height she gets on her vaults! Congrats! Alexa is proving that age 29 is not too old! Who knows what happens when the Russians are factored into the mix? Paris will be a battle for the medals. It could be anyone's games.
IF Simone does go to Paris and successfully lands her Biles II, everyone will be vying for silver! Her start value on the Biles II is so high that her points will be out of reach for anyone to catch. That's if she is healthy and stays on her feet!
@@BuddyDean Don't be arrogant there exist vt specialists, who can also perform the Biles and the Produnova(which is the hardest vault in gymnastics) along with all other vaults. Lots of things can go wrong at an event final. Nothing is guaranteed in stone. There are specialists, who get distance, some, who get lots of height and those who can generate both. Execution matters too, not just difficulty. The Olympic champion will not sit down any of her vaults. Andrade is already snapping at Simone's heels. There are great aa champions, world & Olympic champions, who will all converge on Paris competing for the crowns. I do want Simone to win the vt more than any other. She is a great innovator on the apparatus. It is her signature event. It would be wonderful to see her win the Olympic gold on vt as she ends her career!
@@ctruth6185what other gymnast is performing a Biles I on vault? No one. No one has performed that vault other than the orignator herself. The Prudonova has been downgraded in this CoP so I don't see anyone attempting it in the future. So rule that out for the Olympics. And as far as execution Simone always gets high execution scores. Nothing to woriy about there. If she successfully competes her Biles II no one is getting gold. The only way she's getting silver is if she falls like she did in these event finals.
@@Hervinbalfour The Produnova was a joke. A bunch of girls who couldn't do it were trying it and falling and almost breaking their necks. Glad they devalued it to the point nobody will bother with it anymore. Andrade needs to upgrade to a harder vault to have any chance against Simone without her falling, even with landing errors. It will be interesting if she tries to learn a triple twist or something else.
I love how no matter if the gymnast fails or succeeds, they still mange to keep that sportsmen ship and be respectful and humble for the other competitors. well done to all of them they really hit and never miss
Just as I predicted Simone was gonna fall doing that vault! It’s highly dangerous but if she’s confident I’m with her. Congratulations Rebeca I knew you would go home with a gold medal 🥇
I like how both Rebeca and Simone delay twisting in the post flight phase. They're both superb vaulters. If you do a sport thats as crazy difficult as this one you're prone to error once in awhile. Personally I would rather a title be given to an athlete that didn't sit down, that's not a dis towards Simone.

4:18 any modifications on the code of points? Simone had a fall (-1.0 point) and the coach aside the vault (-0.5 points) how could she just have 1.466 of deduction when just by those 2 things is - 1.5?
