That can't be the reason, the Al Shabaab and other warloads have killed more than 300,000 people in Somalia so they can't claim the 5000 people unalived in Kenya especially considering military action was needed to quell insecurity in NFD same way military action was needed in Mt. Elgon during Matakwei's violence.

not downplaying their plight but this commemoration is all about political mileage, somali leaders hype the waggalla tragedy to alienate the somali people in kenya and make them want to join NFD to Somalia. Why cry about the 5000 people unalived which in Kenya's defence was needed to quell the insecurity in the NFD region yet none of the somali leaders talk about the massacres in Somalia, Siad Barre's followers are said to have unalived more than 200,000 people, do you hear any somali mention the mass*cres commited by their own leaders against their own people
