Got A lot done on wago in the last 2 days, made some solid motor mounts and got everything almost back together. Should be on the road again soon enough.
These guys are on to it! Fuck those other rich youtubers like Evan shanks, smurfnwrx, tj hunt, subros, etc with their 5 to 6 figure cars. They wouldn't know how to disassemble and re-assemble an engine back together like these young dudes. Keep it up boys
Like the solid mount idea. I think I may do something like that but will buy a poly bushing for inside it then weld my plate to the outside sleeve of the bushing
Hey guys I just want to tell you as a recent owner of a beater wago this is one of my favorite channels to see updates for. Not only do you guys actually follow through quickly with your plans for new builds, but you do so in a way that I think is both informative and interesting. I hope to one day boost my wago as well!
Suzuka Blue-ish w/ White stock pinstripe, D16Z6 turbo, Real Time-4WD EE wagon ... Wago is such a sick car, best of luck with those gnarly mounts and the fresh D-series Kyle! Love the channel and the videos, you guys all have an awesome 2017! 👍
Evan Is Evan a torque dampener only works when the motor has some flex in the mounts , with solid welded mounts he will either break something when he hits the gas eventually or rip the mount right off the car either way I guarantee you he ends up regretting it
It'll vibrate the piss out of you but nothing you can't live with. Done correctly, solids are a good and cheap alternative to Poly mounts, and is how people held shit like this down to the chassis for YEARS mate.
The welded mounts could be stronger than the aluminum block just keep an eye on it they can tear themselves out of the side of the block. But... "it should be fine"
best part of these videos are the explanations of the problems you run in to when doing aftermarket installations. ive bought very few parts that fit 100% if not OEM,.. if your not willing to do some grinding some times things will never go back together.. what really counts is the understanding of how a system works.. not necessarily doing everything by the book.. i always say "never cut corners when you dont have to because at some point your going to have to.."
i think what I like about this channel is that when you guys blow your motor and say youll rebuild it, you actually do.. unlike other channels like haggard garage and tj hunt where they blow it up and sell/buy a new one.. Learn a ton from this channel
You two look like fresh out of high school, you have so much potential as true tuner mechanic way ahead of you . Keep up the Good work and best of luck
Ah yes!! I'm totally digging those mounts. Pretty curious to see how they fare as well as how that clutch holds up. Looking forward to more on the Wago!
Love this channel. Just found it the other day and I've been watching you guys non stop. Makes me really want to start playing around with my car and see what can be done to it haha.
I seen you progressing and getting better at it. looks cool how far you've come to building and assembling a engine and learning from it as you go. I like this learning process myself. if there's one thing I like is engine assembly. keep it up.
great job guys, I enjoy your guys content very much, keep up the great work.. I will love to see a track day one day to see what all this cars are running..
oh you're gonna have a ton of fun with the solid mounts. I have some in my RSX Type S and everything vibrates itself to pieces. The side mirrors and rear view mirror all vibrate so it's hard to see clearly through them, the headunit vibrates, the glovebox handle vibrated itself off of the glovebox so it can't be opened anymore, and all the interior trim makes wonderful buzzing noises because the vibration at idle is so much. but it's all good because racecar lmfao
Watching the Junkyard Loothunt, you rebuilding the engine, and now welding all those parts - I have to say I admire your skills and knowledge. - I've got no freaking idea how most parts of a car are composed. I just drive it to the shop and get it fixed. Even tho I think it's quite interesting. But I lack time, skills and tools to do this myself :/
awesome can't wait to see wago run you did a really good job man, also yea your car is going to vibrate like hell on idle lol, I have solid mounts too.
I was in harbor freight check out line today(in North Carolina) talking to the guy next to me and we are both sub'd to your channel. I thought you guys should know!
I can say this channel is way better than TJ Hunt because he just installs parts if sponsors give them :) BoostedBoiz on the other hand get shit done ! with their own money. 😈
I would weld the brackets on the chassis cuz that's where my ef1 fell apart and I had avid1 race mounts with a 6puck I could only imagine how tough it will be on it lol
Double check all your fastenings regularly with those solid mounts... I've seen engines literally shake themselves apart. I'd be far keener to fabricate a bracket to use a larger engines poly mount, it still may not have much movement, but it really takes the edge off the vibrations.
Hey I'm a subscriber from Fort Collins and your videos are killing it. You guys should make a social media account or something and set up meets. There are quite a few car pages in Colorado and I'm sure there could be some opportunity for good footage vs Evo's, Subarus, and other cars. Could even offer some extra camera help for capturing some content. Not sure if you'll see this but reply if you're interested in featuring other modified cars and organizing meets or anything. Keep it up guys!
Do you have a "Should be fine." shirt? My concern is that the throwing bearing needs that play because those fins may move inward when pressed inward since they pivot.
Please man, gotta invest in a tripod for shots of you welding up things and stuff like that while you're alone. I've seen them on amazon or monoprice for like $30. Love the videos, my friends put me on to you guys a week or two ago and i've already seen almost all your videos lolol
make sure that you break in the xtd clutch properly minimum 2000 miles normal driving mine only lasted 2500 Miles because I started dropping the clutch after 1000 and it burned up
Glad you got it all going well. Winter time is great for getting projects together. I'm finally figuring out the rest of the fuel system on my 88x99 K powered DC2 rite now. One thing though about your build, what made you go with an XTD clutch? I hope yours works better than mine, I ran one of their SOHC clutches on a basic Z6 nitrous EJ coupe and it was a terrible disc. Wouldn't hold any power when hot, started wearing immediately. I got it just because it was cheap at the time, but now I go Comp every time. There's a bunch of good companies with good products, but for me Competition is my go to. Ive got a twin disc on my K24/6Spd that's on its second season of beatings, my B20Vtec E.G. Ran a Comp stage 3 for 3 hard years and my current daily driver Integra with a B18C has been on the same Comp stage 2 for 105k of abuse still going strong.
All I can think about is how unbalanced this clutch is going to be. But, it's ok...... Solid motor mounts , aluminum block, I'm sure nothing will break off. But, it's ok....
