My experience, ANT+ hit and miss, random drops. No such issues with BLE, and since I started using ATV, everything just works. Trainer companies are going to find it difficult to compete with Zwift's hub. My next trainer. Thanks Tariq

Faster connections with WiFi you say. Will this have any latency impact for wattage input, like faster wattage change. Will it might be better for racing 😱. Any tests on that vs Bluetooth option? / Thanx for great reviews 👍
Going to be hard to test latency there since different devices uses different protocols. Overall, I had a very good experience with WiFi and no issues with latency that I noticed or caused any frustration.
Glad I got a 5 a month ago for $1k, $1300 I would have gone elsewhere as I didn’t really want to spend $1k either… it’s a good trainer though so no regrets.

Now I wish I would have waited to buy my Kickr, which is just 2 months old. I do have some bluetooth issues with the Kickr - the Cadence gets confused especially at low power or high intensity sprints in ERG mode.
So after testing and riding multiple smart bikes and trainers what is your go to device? Is it the Kickr Bike or Kickr trainer? Just curious what is your favorite device to ride indoors
Personally, I use my own bike and the kickr direct drive trainer. But if I only rode road bikes and not switch between TT and road bikes, I would probably use a kickr bike. So it all depends on your situation.
@@SmartBikeTrainers Thank you for your reply. I only ride a road bike. $4,000 is a hefty price increase! I have used a few Kickr direct drive trainers over the past 5 years on Zwift buy have always been interested in the bike
The NEO is a solid trainer but the lack of multiple BLE connections is what took it out of my top list. You have plenty of connection options with the kickr now particularly if you use Apple TV for your cycling app. The kickr flywheel gives you better pedaling experience than the NEO IMO.
I can get a new Wahoo Kickr V5 at my local bike shop (had some stock left) for 700 euro (= 786 dollar). Would i chose the V5 or do you say go for the V6 (1300 euro almost the double in price)?

I just went for the V5. 600 euros more isn’t worth the small additions that V6 have. 1) Biggest addition is, like you said, Wifi but I never had any problems with bluetooth in combination with my ipad. So in my opinion that’s not a game changer for me. I also don’t race on Zwift. It’s pure Robo racers and ERG 2) the odometer is a gimmick for me 3) ERG easy ramp is a nice addition but you can pause your workout in Zwift if it’s necessary so when you start again you also can start easy and build the power up and unpause the workout.
@@SmartBikeTrainers Thank God I understand your irony :-) Seriously, these are price premiums that are not justifiable in my eyes. I still don't understand the strategy either. Zwift brings out its own smarttrainer that doesn't even cost half and Wahoo raises the price for a nice to have? The customer decides...hopefully he turns on the brain before.
Great overview! 👏👏👏 Forgive me for hijacking this Convo for a few seconds. But because the new Apple Watch Ultra is more focused on endurance athletes, I was hopeful that Apple may have updated the Watch's Bluetooth protocol so that it can communicate heart rate data with bicycle head units and programs such as Zwift without the need for an intermediary device such as the Companion app for Zwift or a WatchLink device for cycle computers. Have you heard anything in this regard as that would be a game changer for me. Keep up the great content!!!!
