Norbit (2007) was Eddie Murphy's last costuming film after The Nutty Professor series. The film's main villain, Rasputia Latimore, has developed a notorious presence through some of the film's scenes including the "Don'tcha" and water slide scenes. But Norbit actually works to hammer home a message that comments on labor, capitalism and consumerism...at least that's what I was able to convince myself after watching it more times in a row than any sane person ought to. This film, Norbit, is GENIUS and you can't tell me differently. This video is just jokes, mostly.

They knew what they were doing with Rasputia, if Rasputia looked more like Kate but still acted the way she did, it probably would've been harder for people to see her as a villain

Thanks so much for this! I have always felt the exact same way about it. It's so very dumb and hilarious but it has a heart of gold. I'll never stop defending this film.

Random gripe, 2007 is the middle of the decade, not the early 2000's 😭 I've been seeing a lot of people clump the whole decade as the early 2000's when the vibes of the mid and later part of the decade was way different than the early part, same (but not as drastically) as the 90's or 60's

I was a kid during that decade and everything from then was a blur, so I call the whole thing "the early 2000s" lol. I feel like we'll transition to calling 2000-2020 the early 2000s eventually.
