I agree with you on that. Most top is usually 10 to 25 percent range. Most waiter don’t even do this. Even with covic pandemic. Income was difficult enough for that happened
I would give the entire restaurant a 0 star review and say on Yelp that their staff harasses and berates customers, then if they make a video about me I’ll find out whatever I can about that waiter so I can file a lawsuit against them for defamation.

This Dhar Mann bonus video needs an extended cut, showing when the rude waiter gets fired from his job after the humiliating video he posted about Paul. First, Paul and his family enter the restaurant, asking the receptionist to bring the manager over. Paul shows and sends the two videos to the manager, not only the humiliating video the waiter made of him, but also the video of Paul's son Gray telling the truth about the rude waiter and Paul. Afterwards, the manager calls the rude waiter to come to his office, after finishing taking an order from a customer. The rude waiter comes to the manager's office, only to have the manager show the rude waiter the humiliating video and Gray's truthful video. Then, the rude waiter says to the manager "I can explain, this is gotta be a big misunderstanding." Then, the manager gets mad at the waiter for his actions, finally leading to the rude waiter getting fired. The manager instructs the rude waiter to leave the restaurant, or else he would send security guards to escort him out. The rude waiter angrily walks out of the restaurant saying "This is ridiculous!", only to get a photo taken of him by Paul, for revenge for what happened to him a year ago. In our country no waiter would accept a 5 dollar tip because it's equal to 500 taka in our country. And here they are very happy to a 10 taka tip which is equal to 10 cents
You are missing the point. Employers (at least the sensible ones), are very particular about how you treat the service workers like waiters or Air hostesses. It speaks a lot about their character. When you are applying for a managerial position (as in this video) where you are sometimes representing the company in front of outsiders, this is especially relevant. If you are on your way to an interview and they happen to find out how you treat the service workers along the path, then trust me, that job offer which you had been eyeing…You can kiss it goodbye.
I agree. The worse waiter I ever experienced. I tell him that I was allergic to onions. He brings me a steak smothered in onions. He gave me an attitude about fixing my order. He wouldn’t refill my water. He spent the night hitting on a woman at the next table. The woman has a low cut sweater with big boobs. At the end of the night, asked the one and only time, do you need anything? I said, “Really, now is when you care?” He actually looked surprised. I left him a penny. The waitress from another table, actually refilled my water without asking. I had a conversation with her. I thanked her and gave her $10. I told her everything he did and how I was going to give him a penny. She was grateful that I gave her $10.

Looks like in US, waiters and bartenders consider it their birthright to expect tips. A tip should be voluntary. Instead, the service people should flight to get better wages so that they don't have to depend on tips.

This actually reminds me of a story. I was on vacation when I was 8 or 9 years old, and we were at a restaurant. I overheard a waiter complaining to one of the people who just ate that he gave him some type of small tip the waiter did not appreciate. The customer or whatever you wanna call him, actually gave him a box, left before the waiter could open it, and the waiter was mad. The reason was because he stupidly gave the tip money back and inside the box was less tip money. It was our last night on vacation, so we don't know if the guy came back, and what the aftermath was.
Personally, if I get bad service at a restaurant, the waiter or waitress gets no tip. However, if I get average service, they will get a 20% tip and I will give a 30% tip for exceptional service.
Unfortunately, this rings true in real life. I understand waiters/waitresses heavily rely on tips since they make a few dollars an hour (depending on where you are), but they also need to understand the limitations of their customers, as well. You see, I was never a waitress, but I have worked in the food industry, so I got the occasional tip. Anything I got, I was grateful for, and I never asked for a tip, because it’s supposed to be optional. Today, I noticed that some restaurants are starting to take out tips via gratuity. And they don’t add on the 5%, they add the 18-20%. I don’t have a job at the moment so I’m not going out as much, but when I do, I try to leave $5 tip, but I’ve too been called cheap, stingy, and worse. So, to me it’s a two way street: customers should be respectful and leave what they can but waiters/waitresses need to be appreciative of what they’re given. It’s not always about what you get, but it’s the fact you’re given something at all.

As my dad would always say, a tip is well earned based on a great service. People are just so entitled when it comes to getting tips. If I was harassed like that by a waiter, I’m reporting it to the manager and seeing that they get fired. Thank you Felicia.
As a waiter i Never expecting tips, its always the decision from the customer if they like the service and not make a scene if they where not give tips, its just a reason to work on myself to improve myself if they not give tips. But most of the time they a happy and give tips :). So yeah.
Tipping is not a requirement it goes according to your service. If you are rude and slow then I do not tip. Tipping has gotten out of hand and to the point that some places charge you a service charge because they might not get a tip. That means you are forced to tip regardless of service. Good service good tip poor service no tip.

I do like this videos message even if it’s not exactly the best execution. I will say suspension of disbelief is required in order to enjoy some things. You do need to keep that in mind when viewing fictional stories of any kind. However, I also understand that suspension of disbelief only goes so far.
It's not so unrealistic. Years ago, there was a news story about outsourcing. This guy lost his tech job and borrowed money from family and friends to keep his family afloat. The mother was a SAHM to teenagers. They felt like that was how they wanted to raise their family, which is fine, but not at family and friends' expense. To add insult to injury, he did finally get a job offer and had the nerve to turn it down because of commuting. He wanted the ideal job, not the make do job he should have taken to stop borrowing from family and friends. They were so entitled.
I have been a server and I never expected a tip but I still have the best service I could. There were times I got huge tips and other times on my $1. It all adds up so I accepted it. It really skeeved me out to see servers behave this way to customers. Yes, sometimes there were customers that were Karens and you couldn’t please them no matter what but in my experience it wasn’t that often.
I remember once in US I didn't tip and the waitress was so rude. As European it's not customary. To me if it's good service then you deserve it. Eventually the manager intervened as then explained she felt guilty after.
Why the hell was the waiter mad over a tip, $5 is a great tip, more than he deserved. And plus why did the people get mad at the guy for not tipping, not everyone chooses to tip.

He got fired, and was unable to find another job because of his actions. He tried to back to his parents house, but his parents were so disgusted by what he did, and told them how they didn’t raise him like this, before shutting the door in his face. His friends also cut ties with him, saying they weren’t gonna associate with someone like him. He’s now alone, and begging in the streets. All the while regretting what he did. To think, all of this happened, just because he wanted more than $5 as a tip.
