I was working in a hamburger shop bar and grill at the time this movie came out and it was basically how we lived our lives, minus the messing with people food. 10 years in food service and I never saw anything like this scene happening.
@@sgtjohnson its so simple isnt it? treat others how you would like to be treated. yet we see tons of people act like entitled assholes just because their parents didnt spank them enough.
I am NEVER rude nor would I even think of disrespecting anyone who is preparing my beverage or food. I understand that sometimes people can make mistakes. No one is perfect. Sometimes they are SUPER busy and things can get hectic. Sometimes the employee is kind of new and is still learning. You just never know. One as a customer must learn to understand and sometimes place themselves in the server's shoes. No need to be rude. The mistake has already occurred. Being rude does not improve anything. In fact, it just makes things worse. You end up stressing out the employee even more, which in terms, too many of those rude encounters causes him or her to quit the job, then the company needs to hire someone new again, thus resulting to make mistakes due to being new and the whole issue repeats itself and so forth. Maybe I'm just an easy customer to deal with or maybe I'm just an understanding person when it comes the comprhension that we are ALL imperfect humans and we live in an imperfect world. If your order came out wrong, please don't be rude. There's no need. Simply let them know that (ie. you didn't want whip cream on your frapp) and this issue will be corrected. You never know if the person you were rude to could one day be the same person who will help you out of a situation. Sometimes, the world is smaller than you think.
I work in 2 restaurants and the amount of times that I’ve had people degrade me for making a slight error in their order is absolutely ridiculous. This lady takes it to a whole new level
where i reside, our town has a private school for rich folks kids.....called P S......everytime I watch this vid, I always can imagine that beeyotch as a teacher or employee of that school being so damn particular with a job order...thank goodness I dont have to deal with that BS no more!!!
Fuck yea she is serious! Taco Bell when I was 16 before the Army, even there being as open as it was, we used to casually walk to the back (where they wash dishes,) and try to get a bugger out our nose really fast mix it into the bean sauce or taco very casual like...And you don't even want to know what Bob the Urinator did to rude customers food! Hint: He had a very small concealable vial and would take constant trips to the restroom! So If you are rude to employees, you prob ate bugers, urine, or very tiny pieces of shit nuggets at some point ...!
Dan And Mel Because people like her enjoy being assholes to staff because they know they can’t fight back. It’s their pathetic way to have control in their lives.
@@kimsy520 theres nothing worse than a control freak. especially one that wont reason or listen to anyone and likes being a miserable cunt. i know some will think its mean for me to say but those kinds of people deserve the worst that will eventually happen to them in life. i know people can change but there are those who think they can stay that way without consequences.
To get the meal for free or get a discount. People try it and it not gonna work. People like to put people down because the wait or they think they can fire you with a complaint
Sometimes people give places a retry. If a place I go to has bad service. I'll give them an honest but very disgusting review and in 6 months I'll come back to see if they can redeem themselves. Hopefully by then one of three things has happened; management has changed, whoever cooked the food is gone, or if the server that was a complete bastard/bitch is gone. If they can redeem themselves, I take back my review and give a better one. If not. We'll add on more insult to injury onto the review then try again a year later. If not then they struck out 3 times and I'll forever stay away from a place and persuade people to do the same.
I call this a Tonya. My sister is a total biotch!! I've tipped servers right after she orders. I excuse myself to the bathroom explain that I'm a server and I loathe going out with her and PLEASE do whatever to her food but not mine. We went to Gordon Ramsey hamburger place. It was epic hearing him from the kitchen call her names.
I work in the service industry and if you ask for things politely, this won’t happen to you. It’s not that she sent her food back, it’s that she was a total cunt about it. If you’re polite, you can ask us for almost anything. And if you’re polite and tip well, you can literally ask us for anything.
This movie makes me terrified to send stuff back Like I don't care what ppl say about regulations and crap someone somewhere is gonna be having a bad day and me wanting a Mt. Dew instead of a Mr. Pibb is gonna be the straw that breaks the camel's back and he spits in my drink
THANK YOU!!! I can’t stand how this movie is creating irrational fears in simple minded idiots. How so many people are scared to send the food back. Like geez did they even watch the movie? Just don’t be a cunt like that woman was lol. It’s a simple novel concept but clearly some of these people are too slow to understand that 😂
Five years in food service and I’ve never messed with anyone’s food no matter how awful they are and I never will. That being said, I don’t let people talk to me that way. I’ll walk away from a table and never come back.
I work in customer service and I watched this movie for the first time yesterday and I thought it was a great representation of what many employees deal with daily.
Hutch214 ... Years ago, I had a liquor store boss that said staff never had to accept abuse from a customer. Not many weeks afterward, a customer refused my request to put out a cigarette in the store, and his response was, “I’ll put it out when I’m finished.” I responded with, “I can sell you the liquor after you’ve finished.” He was disappointed, and loudly grumbled about how much money he spent each week in our establishment. Soon I received a warning that “without customers, we don’t have money for paychecks.” That was a management motto: Give the staff responsibility, but... Don’t give them authority.
That's awesome! At one restaurant I worked at, I was lucky enough to have a manager who did that. He would encourage us to stand our ground if customers pulled any crap like that on us and he'd gladly show them the door if they tried to make us look like we're in the wrong. He'd say "This is your house, not theirs."
Be nice to the restaurant staff. They are just trying to survive like the rest of us. They are also under a great deal of stress from entitled Karens and Bobs, and have a great deal of time to think about vindictive revenge.
Amen. Whenever I see a waiter or waitress or grocery store employee dealing with a toxic person, I always try to catch their eye and say "Im so sorry, They're crazy!" Many times, they smile at me and know exactly what I'm saying. I also love speaking up for cashiers and servers who are getting harassed. Bitch, you're in a $5 restaurant, not a castle. Settle down.
Leaving restaurant work was one of the best moves I made to save my sanity, the stress levels are unmatched in any of the other jobs that I've had since.
Or just be chill about it. "hey man, I'm sorry to do this, but this steak's a little overcooked, do you think I could get a new one? Also maybe a little more gravy for my mashed potatoes?" Totally reasonable. But there's just no reason to act like that in this situation
@@Dreadlock1227 but thats assuming that the servers arent assholes themselves. I used to be a cook at dennys and when they would send something back they would always tell me that the person was being a dickhead and complaining but i always wondered how much of that was true. I've seen plenty of polite people at diners so for every dish to come back from some asshole seemed like a bit of a stretch to me. Doesnt mean i had to sabotage it though. If we were rushed it just meat they'd have to wait a little longer.
I think the point is she keeps being mean to the waitress, if she can talk to her gently, I don't think they will do those things to her food, even if she sends food back.
Bullshit! If the order isnt right then its the cook/servers job to fix it. I shouldnt have to fear people being cunts with my food just because I asked them to correct what shouldve been right in the first place. "You'll eat it the way we just so happened to make it for you or else!" and pay top dollar for it? What kind of warped ass logic is that?
As a long time waitress at a local restaurant, I can say with confidence that this happens more often than you think with the rude customers. And I honestly wish I could explain why people act this entitled to the people that handle your food, but I can’t and it’s easier to just tell them to screw off by having the chefs make a little rude gesture with the food. ie make the fries look like a middle finger or a dick
@@quarterpenny2921 It happens less than you think. 10 years working in food service and I never saw or heard of anything like this happening. Also, Funeral is right, just be kind to people and they wont mess with you.
@Steve Kovaleski I hear you SK....but to be equal....it happens in many ethnic groups as well......I hear complaints from teens to middle aged women and guys, older men and women, seniors (some who demand a seniors discount!!), as for groups, whites/caucasian (american or canadian), blacks, and asians as well (asians as they grow older, seem to become more CRABBY.....especially the men).
I bet those other 3 ladies secretly despise her. You know... They're nice to her when she's around & then they call her out on being a bitch behind her back.
@@Nicksolo85 and yet they continue to hang out with her because either A) shes their boss or supervisor, perhaps work friend, so they stay on her good side to avoid drama or B) shes rich and they're no better than your average golddigger that puts up with abuse in order to get that dollar.
@@zacharytomes5202 maybe I'm a rare example of wait staff that doesnt deal with this kind of shit, but I'll leave a table sitting until they leave if theyre rude to me like this. We have the right to not serve, and I practice that
It's totally fine to say the food isn't correct! As long as you're polite and let the server know in a reasonable way. Another tip: if the wrong order comes out but it looks delicious, (like getting a chicken sandwich instead of a burger), I'll first ask the server to double check that it's not another table's food, and if it's not, meaning the server accidentally rang in my wrong order, I'll say I'll eat it and be happy and it should be comped. This is a win win because I get to eat right away with my party, and the restaurant doesn't throw away an entree just to make another, which is less profitable for then even if they charge me.
I don't think you should get it for free. If you haven't toucheed it yet, better that it go to the correct table. Yes, unfortunately, you'll have to wait for your order but then you adjust your tip. That would be more profitable than your alternative where the restaurant has to lose money on your order AND make up for the other table's order.
@@aman888they literally said if it’s not another tables order. Meaning they got the order wrong, and it’s not going to anyone else. That means that it’s money down the drain either way. It makes just as much sense to comp the meal as it does to redo the correct order and throw away the wrong order
I never worked in food service, but I can relate to the waiters and waitresses. It is very frustrating when you are good at serving the job you love only to be disrespected by rude and entitled customers. Salute to my fellow frontline brothers and sisters.
I’ve worked in food service for years. I’ve had plenty of bitches like this woman. Never have we done that to their food. (Even if we were tempted to.)
@@MartyMcFly88depends on the type of restaurant you work at…if it’s super corporate yeah unlikely this would happen because everyone would lose their jobs but if it’s locally owned it’s way more likely
Sgt York ... I used to take a female friend out for dinner at least once each week. She was demanding with staff, and I felt embarrassed each time. On one occasion I actually told her so - after she”d complained about her steak being undercooked. She did so after finishing the meal, when I was paying the tab. She often treated me shabbily as well. Happily, I had an epiphany about her narcissistic ways, and we share time together no more.

I have to disagree with you on that one to a very limited extent. If, for example, a customer's steak is a little rarer that they prefer, as long as they were reasonably polite about it, I was happy to give it an extra minute or so. There are some things about a meal that can be fixed, and as long as you're polite, a chef will accommodate.
I've had people that are use to McDonald's. They come to a fine dining place to be treat themselves and throw tantrums when they dont have a buffet on the plate for what they paid
That last line is so fucking true You give up so much power to the person making your food. The customer is king, unless they're not I always make sure to be nice to my servers, and even if things are a little off I give them the benefit of the doubt because I understand that sometimes days are hard or things just happen, because it does just sorta happen
@@yomamaso100 what a bunch of hapless losers. If someone messed with my food I would literally kill them. Be more like that and maybe you wouldn't be so spineless to be afraid, as they wouldn't mess with food. It's illegal, and should be punished.
Just don't carry an attitude. Even if she were a major bitch, and, they carried such a desire to fuck with her, what they did to that plate is absolutely vile
Even when my order is messed up I never even bother to call someone over and send it back. I just take the L and eat my messed up order. This movie made me super paranoid because you just never know if someone in the back will get in trouble for messing up the order, then take it out on you. No matter how nice you are about it 😂
Listen, we know we mess up a lot. Having your food taken back is not a issue. Being a cunt rag, is the issue. As Ryan says at the end, "Do not fuck with people handling your food." That doesn't include politely asking for it to be sent back.
Here’s the thing: I’ve worked in food service. I know this happens and I’ve worked in kitchens where it has happened. I would say if you’re polite about it and state what is wrong with the order, 999 times out of a thousand they will take care of it. When you’re an asshole is when this shit happens. Now with that being said, it doesn’t happen as much now as it did then because most restaurants have surveillance and doing that will get you fired and charged with felony food tampering charges.
@@Onecooltop75As it should be. Its unconscionable to tamper with a paying customer's food. I've worked in hospitality as a waiter and I have received abuse but this scene pisses me off.
" how intelligent do you have to be to take a food order?!" A lot of people don't realize that a good portion of people working food service are actively in college and are doing so to pay bills until they graduate. Good chance the person waiting on you is more educated than you are, and will sooner than later be making more than you.
True, but Im tired of this trope that people who didnt go to college are unintelligent. Plenty of very smart people work in food service long term, and plenty of people are unable to go to college for monetary reasons. Or they just dont want to. 🤷
As a person who works for a higher end restaurant, you will not believe how often we see entitled, racist, and just how dumb people will be. for example, oh you wanna sit outside? sorry we’re not seating this area. why? because it’s 30 degrees out and there is no server working the area. this goes on and on.
This is why I am super polite towards people who make my food. "That make take a while.." Me: "Oh take your time. Don't worry about it." And you know what? They are always on time. Being nice IS key. My brother worked at Taco Bell and I do know...He did a lot more than what he told me... If someone was rude to him he would purposely get their order wrong to piss them off. No lettuce? Guess what extra lettuce. More sour cream? Guess what fuck you no sour cream. And he would ALWAYS do it..But I have a feeling he did more than that. >.>
I love this scene for the last line said. Because the people working there are definitely underpaid and overworked. It is not their fault. They're just trying to survive. Amd it isn't just restaurant and fast food. Same goes for grocery and retail.
This is why I don't go out to eat with my biological parents and when I do if they act up I scold them in front of the waiter or waitress. At the end of the meal if it was really good I'll ask to speak to the manager just to compliment the staff. We're all humans. No one deserves that kind of treatment.
ha . . . haha . . hahahahahaha . . . there aren't very many and most are easy to get around . . . you still don't do shit like this, it just generally isn't done. . . that doesn't mean we won't let your orders be the last done, and take care of literally every customer but you for the remainder of the night . . . you're in a hurry? sry don't be so rude. . . it's one thing if the kitchen fcks something up, another entirely to be such a b*tch about it.
This movie made me so depressed when I was working in the restaurant industry lol. The feeling of being stuck in life this movie sums up it up perfectly. Almost wanted to jump off a bridge the last time I saw this movie when I was still in the industry
If ain't seen this movie, u have been living under a rock!! Everyone needs to see this movie and understand what the people in restaurants has to go through with customers!!!
I used to work in the food industry for about a year. I can honestly say that we used to do that at the place I worked at. I will never forget it, it was unbelievable. But we only did it to the people who absolutely deserved it.
Imagine having bad food somewhere and returning THREE MORE TIMES and acting like it’s their fault that you’re eating shitty food. You’re choosing to come back 😂😂
I worked at Hometown Buffet and we had a regular that came in. She would be called a Karen today but back then they havent came up with the Karen term, this was early 2000s
Im always amazed that people go out to restaurants and fast food joints and still have the balls to be rude to the staff have they not seen this movie? This absolutely happens in real life
Dane Cook was AMAZING in his role as the jaded, hateful line cook and as someone who worked in that industry for WAY too long I can say his protrayal of such a character was 100% accurate.
This is why I don't complain about my food. But I do tip, and say please and thank you and ask nicely for things, other than that if it's been bad service or at least shitty. I ain't never going back.
Same every time I speak to a waiter I say “can I please get a coke” and say thank you so much, and I wanna leave a big tip sometimes but my dad pays and leaves a ten dollar tip but I wanna give them something bigger
i treat everyone with respect specially people who serve food for this exact reason...sometimes they give me free shit lol people make mistakes on the job so i tend not to be a dick about it
As someone who was a waiter for 9 years, and saw food tampered with on hundreds of vacations, you are absolutely allowed to send food back. We don't care. We don't care one single bit. If your food is wrong if something is wrong with it, I want you to tell me and I want to get you a new meal. Because I want your food to be right and I want you to enjoy yourself. Servers don't give a fuck about you sending food back. It's when people send food back in our fucking assholes and disrespectful pieces of shit. I had a woman send back food three different times and she to this day is one of my favorite customers I've ever had. I was heartbroken that her meal was so bad it was not her fault at all. It was our kitchen because we were on a 45 minute wait and we just weren't providing a lot of people with what they deserved and that was good food and proper service. Unfortunately it happens in the restaurant industry. But she was wonderfully polite and I not only finally got a meal to her that was acceptable and delicious, but I also have her meal comped, and I got her a $100 gift card. She Called the next time and made sure I was working and became my regular for 2 years after that. I gave her a discount every single time she came in after that and she never had a bad meal ever again. Is okay to send food back. Servers want you to enjoy yourself. We just want to be treated with respect. Now I say we but I haven't served in almost 10 years. I actually work at a strip club and make over $100,000 a year but people coming to the strip club and are disrespectful as fuck and they think that they're at a Walmart or a restaurant where we have to sit there and take it but I fucking tell them that they're fucking scumbags and I kicked them out. Because I can. But people who are respectful I will bend over backwards to help from now until the day I die
This brings back memories when I worked @the food unit of a theme park…w/out going into the gross details…just know to always treat any restaurant staff w/respect or suffer the consequences!
I worked at Wendy's and one time I was called in early cause it was a rush, but when I got there it was about over. A lady comes in and orders a chicken sandwich but with cheese (important later). She comes back to the front counter and says the chicken is past its date of 4 hours (she worked at a Wendy's apparently) and we got her a new one. I gave her the remake and I said "here you go" in a happy tone and went back to my station. I forgot to tell my manager that the remake has to have cheese on it, so when she came back she was mad lmao. She waited 15 minutes for the first time, an extra 5 for the remake without cheese 😂 She said that I shouldn't have gotten the people behind her first (they just ordered frosty's) and asked what's wrong with her sandwich. I never made the sandwiches here, so I had no clue. She said it's missing her cheese that she paid .40 cents for. She ranted how bad my customer service is because I didn't apologize for the first remake. During her rant I thought of how funny the situation is and I smiled a bit, which I instantly realized that was a mistake. She was like "DON'T YOU *DARE* SMIRK AT ME" and is yelling at this point. Everyone heard her and gave my manager a summary and got her remake.
I would've told her she should take that up with her therapist. Aint no way in fvcking hell I'm letting a bvtch talk to me like that for a job like wendys lol
Had a guy tell me to "get the fuck out of his face" when I asked him how the food was tasting. Long story short he ate everything and got some free food in the end. Victory in his eyes I guess? I don't get how people can be so cruel. I wanted to make a scene right then and there. but I just said okay and walked away.
I've worked with a lot of crazy ass people in restaurants before, but none have ever fucked with someone's food before. We've all fantasized about it though 😂
Thank you!!!! I have never understood why people can be so rude and disrespectful to the people that have complete control over their food!!! Same applies for hairdresser, doctors, dentists, etc. 😅

I used to work in food and beverage industry before. Quite a few restaurant and hotel actually. This is very true. I dont do it personally and im against it but there is nothing I can do about it. There is always someone who take it personally. Spit in your food is very common punishment. Sometimes they use dirty towel to wipe your plate. Sometimes they drop your food to the floor and then put it back to the plate. Rubbing food in private area is very rare cases but it can happen. Be careful.
