Do you think that women’s chess titles might imply a mental disadvantage for females? Have you ever considered calling yourself an FM or IM rather than a WGM?

Its just a way to encourage more girls to play and stick with chess. The reason there isnt many strong girls in chess compared to guys is more due to a lack of interest in being highly competitive at a board game than anything.

It's not a mental disadvantage, it boils down to levels of testosterone in men vs women which gives people that competitive drive. Men are far more competitive than women and this is particularly true at the extreme cases. I can say with certainty that the top female players do not train as hard as the top male players because the drive to train is fueled by the obsession to win and be the best. Then there is of course cultural norms which generally discourage women from pursuing careers in sport in general.

I mean they wanted more females to get into the game, it was a marketing strat but really there aren't good female players at top level

Gabriel Flom is a fun guy. Instead of holding on to the White Bishop after a failed sacrifice he set up he counter-sacrificed his Queen to spice up the game.

In the old part of Paris you can often find waiters with a high level of education, so it is part of the charm of this ancient, beautiful city

@@Dimprecator A waiter in an exclusive restaurant in Paris has a much higher salary than the average. For example, when a customer comes he has the right to indirectly order food or drink by quoting a philosopher, painter, writer, etc. so the waiter must have a high knowledge of general culture. I am one of those customers😎 it is a European thing✌️
