Hasbro clearly has the ability to make really good figures. It's like every once in a while they'll go all out with a unique sculpt, tons of accessories, etc. And then every other time they aggressively cut every corner possible.
I am a scientist and those are both flasks. One is a round flask and the other is a conical/Erlenmeyer flask. Also, great review as always and he looks like an awesome (but small) release. Also, I'm not a scientist.
“If you’re not a scientist then I don’t want to hear it.” “And if you’re insane and for some reason you don’t like this classic head sculpt-“ 😭 you had me dead but great review, Unparalleled Universe. Figure looks awesome.
This really feels like an exclusive figure! Congrats on the review, amazing job. I love you showed him next to the BAF! Can you consider using the red pointing finger as you used to do? I loved when you used it, it was funny, original a very precise! Like when you were showing the pattern in his neck, it would work then!
This was an automatic pick up for me either way, but now I'm REALLY excited. Thanks man! Awesome review. Is the jaw on the alt head articulated? Looks like it is.
Lizard is one of my top 5 Spidey villains and when they announced this figure I was so excited. However I thought it would be lacking in articulation, knowing Hasbro. This review just made me so happy, he has some of the best articulation in a Legends I've seen in a while.
Florence Flask would be the “scientific” name for that Beaker. I feel it’s still part of the Beaker family so you should be good 😅… Dope review as always!
Excellent review! You are very articulate, and I really agree with everything you say about this figure. Your review is just terrific! As for this figure: It looks so dang GOOD! I can't wait to pre-order this thing! I've been reading comics for 48 years now so let me just say this about the Lizard's classic look -- I LOVE the old school head sculpt! The details are amazing! Yeah, the original Ditko design for the lizard was toothless. It looked more lizard-like, and less velociraptor/dinosaur. That dino-look thing was a '90s comic book thing. He had this original look for three decades, so I'm good with it. It's also great that they gave him a bit more modern fans for the younger comics fans too. Not everyone jumped into comics in the '90s, and though that seems to be the largest group of Marvel Legends collectors, there are older fans collecting figures as well, so I love it when we get a true classic look. It doesn't happen so often with Hasbro. They usually only give us a halfway "classic" version, like with Havok (who didn't get the silver collar on his neck) or with that "retro" Falcon that looks like no version of the Falcon from the comic books that I'm aware of. Not sure what was up with that one. heh. I think all of the SPIDER-MAN RETRO figures have been pretty killer. Hasbro's best line of Marvel Legends for sure! Thanks so much for the great video! By the way, I'm now a subscriber!
You young whipper snappers saying you remember reading these comics in the 90s. I'm an old fart because I started back in the early 70s. I was excited about this figure when they announced it, now it's a must buy! Great review Wade!
Sooooo jealous!! First Cap, now Lizard, you keep getting to review my top favorite Marvel characters! Btw, I have the same first name and essentially the same job as the Lizard, I definitely think that's part of the reason why I love the character so much. But I do have both of my arms though, thankful for that, lol
Wade, yeah the retro re-releases are killing it. Bafs with better paint apps and often better head sculpts. The obvious joy of not having to buy figure(s) you may not care about to complete the One you really wanted. Improved packaging with retro art. Breaking bad and Labs in school helped with your accessories question. Congratulations on being the person to show Lizard off. I enjoyed the review ✌️
I have this one pre-ordered, and it does look pretty awesome. That classic Ditko head sculpt really sells it for me. However, I'm still not sure if I'll like it better than the old ToyBiz Fearsome Foes Lizard. The sculpting, details, paint apps and articulation on that old FF figure still hold up beautifully to this day. The only thing I really like better about the new Retro figure is the tail. That Fearsome Foes box-set just can't be beat IMO. I still have Vulture, Lizard, and Rhino from that set as my defaults for those characters. I'll have to see how I feel once I have the new one in hand.
Some people hated on him when it was revealed. I liked the classic look, and love it even more now that I got a closer look in this review. Very glad I preordered it
@@lazylefthand 🤦♂️ I don't think I did actually lol. Have not seen him available. Confused with all the preorders and did get other spidey figures. But I'll be sure to get this as soon as I can.
@@GameTime-yj6qv i get my stuff mixed up sometimes too. Right now im just waiting to preorder this one and the clone wars darth maul black series figure. He looks dope!
@@lazylefthand yeah. Sometimes I preorder the same figure from different places to see which I get first and forgot I preordered another one and then have to return them. But yeah this Lizard looks really nice. I also preorderd Rhino, that one for sure I remember I got. Loving this Spidey retro line.
Absolutely love the look of this. As a kid I read the original Secret Wars in the 1980's. This totally reminds me of that look for Lizard. Same applies to the recent Retro Symbiote Spidey. They look like they stepped off the comic book page. Only a short while ago I snagged the Retro Shocker. Another gold star for Hasbro. What lifts this new Figure the accessories. Two head sculpts and four different hand options along with the science flasks. Fantastic!
Bar for the future!!! Want this one so much asap! Might be the first time id over pay on ebay or something... its so worth the price increase imo. Great review. I was all hyped up for the artic part the whole review before it lol
I knew another reveal was coming up when I saw Wade starting to do some “clean” livestreams… trying to prove to Hasbro bigwigs that’s he’s not filthy and undeserving 😂
This is a very good looking figure. My only small gripe is it’s too clean. That lab coat needs more rips and tears and it needs to be dirtied up. Remember Lizard lives in the sewers. A black wash and repaint on the eyes would set it completely off.
Well that's kinda what they planned ya know, they make the boxes in a way so people just like you who like them both outside and also on the card then you have to get two, this does look super classic but I wish they made the bad version better sense I like that look more
I am so excited for this Lizard, but it would be nice if Walmart would put him up for preorder already. I'm tired of waiting. I hated the BAF one for many reasons. What's weird is I'm not really a big bendy wire guy due to how they tend to break in the long run, but after getting the BAF Lizard, I thought, "You know, they should have went the bendy wire route." I also am a huge fan of the older Spider-Man comics, so getting a more classic head works for me. I'm debating as to whether or not I want to ebay the BAF version or make him one of Lizard's minions.
The round one is a Florence Flasks (or a Boiling Flask) and the second is an Erlenmeyer Flasks. Don't know if it's been said in the comments or not, if so, sorry for the repeat. Y'know, I'm something of a scientist myself.
Congrats on being chosen to reveal the figure! Imo, I prefer the baf lizard, super rare, but it's nice hasbro put the time and money into sculpting new molds.
I'm so glad I waited for a Classic Lizard, this ML is great, with a couple of tweaks it could have been even better but i'm glad with what we got. Thanks for the review Unparalleled Universe.
Dope review, man. That figure looks great. I can't wait. And you're looking at a boiling flask with the round bottom and an Erlenmeyer flask with the flat. Breaking bad, yo.
Nice man! I can't wait to see how this releases here in the UK, this classic Ditko design is exactly what I was hoping for. I would've loved a McFarlane head sculpt though, the more modern head is a bit too generic to me. Honestly this and the Rhino are at the top of my collecting list currently. He does seem accurate in scale to his classic look and I love the lankiness of him, but with the alternate head option I assumed he'd be a bit bigger.
Great job reviewing this figure early from Hasbro Wade because he does look so awesome and it feels great that he has a bendy wired tail, Once this figure is on pre order, I might get him well see, Still, The best Lizard figure in my honest opinion.
Super excited for this one. Great review Wade! Hopefully, it stays up on Walmart like Ulik has when it drops. Good luck completing the old Lizard BAF. I’m still hunting Noir Spidey for the last arm.
I’m not a scientist however, the Amazing Spider-Man figure will be slightly smaller then the past Spider-Man figures, so perhaps it will be a more appropriate size compared to the retro Lizard figure.
