Good honest review Tony, no matter what anyone says about this gun there is no way you can knock the finish it puts out as it's first class and I don't think any gun can beat it. I nearly got the walcom base and clear guns a while back, I even got my usual supplier to get prices for me but I couldn't justify spending that kind of money on a gun that to me never looks clean, I watched a lot of vids from Gabe and his walcom guns look like they are 20 years old, I know they get a lot of use but just look at the Gunmans Devilbiss guns some of his are very old and still look like new. Sorry Walcome I'm not paying that price for what is a composite clad metal body as they just look cheap 🤷♂️😁
I’ve been watching your channel for a long time now and whenever you review a good quality gun you always say you can’t knock the finish with gun .... let’s face it your just a master spray painter !!! Loved the video Tony
once more good man, love your reviews alongside all the other videos. Totally understand your points. Thank you. Like has already mentioned in the comments would be great to have a quick overview of guns from budget to high end, basic set ups to professional full blown booth. I guess it really depends that is the primary audience of your channel but if you have a mo, I'd def love that.
@Tony's Refinishing stick with the winning game - iwata lph 400 xtream orange cap for base and iwata WS400 HD for clear coat - no exception there is nothing like the real thing - walcom 360 lite hte is a want to be you can't get any tec. Support here in the USA
Pricing all depends on location I’m in New Zealand and I’ve got a base and clear carbonio 360s . Paid nzd $740 each Kombat slim1.5 $520 and an Ego190 from Oz $630 I think . W400 yeah nice gun but done that . Sagolas hard to get and expensive . Satas we use at work ,way over priced and Devilbiss are heavy and chew through the product… challenge yourself and try something new, it’s easy to stick with what you know and refuse to embrace change
I believe you gave this an honest review. If you'll remember about three months ago I questioned your math abilities when you made the statement that all of the big name spray guns were at about the same price point. I then pointed out the very significant difference in price between the Iwata Supernovas and these Walcom Carbonios. Amazingly that comment somehow disappeared. For the money the Supernovas and the Sagola 4600 Extreme are much better deals and I happen to own all three brands having the original 360 Carbonio HTE's in both base and clear. One question I have is: what is the difference between the Light HTE guns and the "old" HTE guns. Nobody seems to have an answer to that question. That these guns spray great is not arguable. That their worth more money than their major competitors now that's certainly arguable. I still maintain that a properly setup WS400 (fan 2 to 2 3/4 turns out from full in) gives the flattest finish I've ever seen with the ProLite with the T110 aircap coming in second. Do you agree with this?
ISO RU-vid’s been an arse lately mate for some reason alot of comments are disappearing it’s supposed to sensor bad words swearing ect but it’s automated systems have been removing alsorts for me unless it’s hateful , racist or anything along those lines I leave all comments on regardless mate just wanted to make sure you know that lol , honestly value for money the best gun on the market ( although it’s old now ) ws400 by far I think bang for buck you don’t get better than iwatas tbh and for me they are my favourite brand , these walcoms weren’t too bad till the price rise but now I think there way to high they were however already pushing the price limit though , the prolite with the t110 again agree lovely flat finish but even they have risen in price a lot since the rebrand but still a lot better than these , the hte old version and this new one it’s supposed to be a weight change buddy so this new one is supposed to be 360 grams although having put it on my paint scales numerous times it’s always weighed more 🤷♂️
@@TonysRefinishingTV Apparently the Italians have a different gram than the French. The original gun that I have was specifically called the 360 Carbonio and it wasn't and now the new "Lighter version" isn't either. Screw 'em we Americans still use the Imperial system as God intended it to be. Ounces and Pounds buddy. Yea, we're a little backward.
Lol see I grew up with the feet and inches and imperial measurement system working on the older vintage cars mate so I respect the old school measuring system lol
The hte light is about 40 grams lighter than the original. The air cap is aluminum and the original was stainless steel. It also does not have the needle bolt and the regulator does not swivel it just turns. That's about all the difference
Well i'm glad i stepped up early and bought my 5 gun set before Xmas , i personally would n't pay £600 for one gun. Your right they don't clean up well but still they're a great gun .
I was thinking you remember I said about health and how important to used the correct mask I thought would it bennifit doing a prog on the best and worst types of masks and whats the best ones to use just to go through the diff types and what they for and the correct way to use a mask it was just a thought mate
Not being a spray painter just an avid viewer, I still have an opinion and it would be thus; I believe that it doesn't matter how good a product is, a point is reached where consideration of price has to be taken into account. If there are other known quality products available at a lesser price, is it worth shelling out more for a product which hasn't proved its longevity?
these are what I was looking at buying unsure yet was also looking at sata soul edition right now im running the flg 5s 1.4 1.3 and 1.8 2 guns 3 tips I bugged you before I love the lg 5 s but not quite as happy as I could be with the fans Im diy guy so could easily get by with what Ive got but want to do a lot of candies and flake and pearls lol
Great insight to the prices and brands. Seems to be that Tony could reach the same finish with an airbrush. Always looking for ward to the next instalment.
Its important from one painter to another to support each other i hope more kids leaving school take it up I also think your vids will or does help kids get into the trade I think the gov should do more to support the industry by setting up spray painting schools especially kids that have drifted of the rails a bit instead of punishing them give them a choice to learn the trade instead what do you think mate
Yeah man would be great to see more younger people wanting to get into the trade unfortunately most see more of the RU-vid side as a career and computers ect than manual jobs these days
Very expensive guns. You Can get two pro lites for the price of one and there as good as any I have found. I have there slim kombat 1.9 primer gun and that is a brilliant gun yet to try the clear gun
I have been putting 5-10% thinner in with roberlo primer and seems to flow out really nice and smooth. But obviously the build isn't as good as straight 4:1. No thinner it is a little like artex lol
Hi Tony, Mark from the training day ,learn't so much in a day ,had a great time, worth every penny, looking forward to my next day training with you on bumper corner repair and blending.
G’day tony out of all the four guns walcom hte, DV1, GTIprolite, Sata 5500x which one did you find more comfortable for your style of painting as for me I haven’t tried the walcom but I found myself always going back to my prolite te10,te20 and HV30 how did you get on mate?
Awesome 😎 video Tony Walcom have it although it’s on the pricey side but it delivers good haha 🤣 factory finish and your shoulders don’t get tired 😓 with that gun spot on much love Tony I enjoyed that one enjoy your evening mate 👍👍👍👍👍👍💯💯💯💯💯💯🙏🙏👏👏👏👏😎😎😎😎
To play it safe stay with iwata lph 400 orange cap for base coat and IWATA WS400 for clear coat because there is nothing like the real thing - walcom 360 hte carboina is a want to be - they don't even come close to iwata spray guns because there is nothing like the real thing
Amazing brother thank u so much for ur helpful videos ❤️❤️, can I please ask for an advice should I get the 360HTE 1.2 or the satajet x 5500 rp 1.2 o’ digital bar. Me personally I haven’t used any of them but I prefer the Sata jet but still not sure if the right decision.❤️
Tony Excellent channel, you've been a massive help to me. thank you. I'm having a huge problem with silicone in my paintwork, can i ask for you're advice ? if so, how do i message you, it's going to be quite a long message, so I don't want to clog up this channel... Thanks Paul
Just tuned in bud I didn't realise how expensive the walcom range were I'm sticking to my gti pro and Sri pro range and FLG for primer until I can bend the bosses ear that is 😀😀😀
@@TonysRefinishingTV I'll play him this video and mention the material savings these guns provide over the devilbis see if he can crunch some numbers 👍👍
Hey Tony, been a sub for a long time and love your videos. I have a question. I do custom paint as a hobbyist for friends. Don’t have a booth. DIY garage guy. My compressor can deliver about 10.5 cfm. Biggest I could afford. Looking for a new gun at a reasonable price. Ideally for both base and clear. I’ve seen you use Sagola, Iwata, Walcom and probably some more. I can’t spend the money a Walcom or a Supernova costs. Do you have any tips on guns that won’t break the bank and don’t consume huge amounts of air? Airgunsa AZ3, Devilbiss FLG5 or anything else? Like quality guns for the home enthusiast?
@@MatteLson66 ok well id say the iwata lph 80 tbh great little mini / midi gun but with very low air consumption mate , use my code tony5 on sp supplies too for a discount
I think the digital guage is a gimmick you need to control pressure all the time you are painting taking the guage off won't allow you to keep an eye on that, they Mark very easy, very expensive because of the carbon fibre process, they suffer from ait leaks at the trigger.
Hi Tony Which Sata do you recommend, an “i” or “0”?Thinking of treating myself but not sure which to get.Usually use a 3000rp for clear which is what I would be using it for.Cheers
ok so the o pattern is like the older 5000rp mate a more conventional oval fan pattern the i is a flat pattern like the iwatas ect me personally and this is my personal preference i love there i pattern as its closer to my iwatas which i love
Agree with the poor quality/longevity of the build of these so called 'carbon' guns. Also the engraving on the end caps are on pissed (specially the ego 190 end caps).... for that kind of money, one would expect exceptional quality. There also seems to be no suppliers selling the Walcom's, in the UK unlike all the other brands out there.
