Despite we still lack the mental ability to beat SH teams. I'm still very proud of them. Not many teams can lose roughly 10 first team players and beat the host nations, qualifying from the proof of death and giving SA and AUS every run for their money. Best team in the NH!
+XxWales15xX We didn't lack to beat them, we almost beat them both by a good score, but Wales had to many errors on the pitch. e.g. (4 held up tries against Australia, And Poor defending by "Cuthbert" which lead to the South Africa try, so ye those few points there, cost Wales the Semi finals, maybe even the Finals.
adam horton Adam you are absolutely right ,if it wasn't for all there injures ,I ama SCOT BUT I LOVE WALES AS MUCH AS SCOTLAND ,WE WERE ROBBED BY THAT S.AFRIKAAN REF.
Key injuries will keep reminding them of what they could've achieved for Wales, really unfortunate. I would've said they were in with a good chance to beat a poor performing Boks had they all been healthy.
The South African try at 78 mins was scored from an illegal offside position... if our ref wasn't the worst in the world (Wayne Barnes) we would have 100% been in the Semi Final!! Just our bad luck though. :'(
Let's be honest, this was not a 'glorious' world cup for Wales by any standard. Ok we had injuries and beat the old enemy to escape "the group of death". But we were unconvincing throughout. Struggled more than we should have against the group minnows. We were second best, hanging in the game for 60 mins, against England before pulling out a wonder try. Failed to put away Fiji despite having plenty of opportunities to do so, couldn't even score a try against an aussie side even when they were down to 13 and Wales were camped on their 5m line. Furthermore the wallabies were clearly nervous of slipping up against Wales. Finally failed to beat an ageing sa team that had already lost to Japan. There really wasn't enough scrutiny over wales' campaign because it wasn't that successful and they have failed to kick on since as a result. Every other home nation has taken a good hard look at themselves and emerged the better for it.
