PNG have definitely moved past Wales in league, but largely thanks to top line NRL players like Taumalolo, Fifita, Hopoate and Tupou deciding to play for them rather than NZ or Australia, PNG have been passed by Tonga as the 4th ranked side behind Australia, England and NZ.
@@Holden308 true champ but way i see it oz has an arched enemy if nrl wants to expand our game just like union they are a internations comp with the likes of wallabies all blacks ect so why not compete with union and afl bring a perth side in also a 2nd nz side along with png team nrl has not really grown as a sport for a while now so
I went to this game, which was my first ever rugby league match. I was absolutely stunned by the enormous gulf in skill, speed, power and fitness between the Welsh league team and their union equivalents. A couple of weeks after this, Wales played England (Offiah, Edwards, Hanley et al) in Swansea and got absolutely smashed, and that was a different level again. Offiah was the fastest human being I’d ever seen at that point in my life. It was ridiculous. Goodness only knows how good Australia must have been back in those days to be consistently beating GB teams with these levels of talent...
exposure to playing international png coach said that they only entered world comp recently inthat match u cant expect a newly formed team to win big games jus yet png hasnt fully developed back then with big dollars thrown in big differnce then & now init lol
I feel sad for the Kumuls during those days where training and other necessities were not available, but today you try the Kumuls they hammered the Wales 56 and almost nil 2017 RLWC. That was a massive improvement. England also got the same pince of it followed by Fiji in the recent Pacific Cup Test. Go Kumuls...........!

@@user-hk8lo8wr6j matey kumuls was ranked 3/4th back inthem days png always played above their weight they always manage to stay close to the britts wales got beated badly thats the old team full of amateurs who dont play league like fijians and tongans ect becauseof our own gov corruptions i dont really worry about what u say or think u can laugh png will stick to the game plan and thats to play inthe nrl unlike fijians all home grown inthe nrl getting world class trainning and coaching png is just a amateur team still why u all hyped up cobber we all islander here why u picking on png u must be hater 🙄🤦♂

Wales still holds the record of thrashing us by a bigger margin......but wow...I am so happy with the Kumuls win. Bad luck Dragons. @@clonecommanderbly7408 agreed... Need to be digging into Union players who don't make the grade. Regan Grace wasn't wanted by the Ospreys, look at him in League. The problem is the salary cap and less money but if the Sky deal in 2022 is much improved, there may be an incentive again to go north... Could really do with a club in Super League as well, base it in Cardiff, not a small town like Bridgend or Wrexham... Rent the arms park, plastic pitch won't get ruined, you'll get 5/6k in there for the big games....

That's because the Aussies know the fact that other Pacific Islanders will never beat them that is why they have them in NRL. For PNG there is hidden restrictions knowing that if PNGs have alot players in the NRL, oh! we all know that PNG will be hard and tough to beat. Kumuls will one day beat Kangeroos.
