@@EddieMachetti some people wouldn't get that, even if their life would depend on it. I'm never sure if they really don't understand the joke, or if they just want to find it shitty because it's Jack Black.
@@nochannelmusician769 Really? You don't say? John Lennon wrote Imagine? And that's....that's why Paul Rudd looks into the camera and says that? Wow! So insightful! Where would our world be without insightful people such as yourself? Oh, and in case you think I'm freely handing you sincere compliments, IT'S CALLED SARCASM!!!
Everyone raves about Jack Black and Paul Rudd but what about Justin Long he actually does the accent seriously but hes the most hilarious, hes not speaking like a scott like Jack, and he's not just being absurdly silly like Paul Rudd, but is still the funniest imo. "I just sit here while my guitar quietly whimpersss"
"I'm addicted to coke, weed, booze, 'ludes and speed, not LSD! ... It was invented by scientists, Ringo Starr just told me!" "Okay, let's go drop acid with The Beatles. "LOLOL
The look of HORROR on John and Paul's face when THAT was said is classic! That's why this movie is way better than "Spinal Tap" even...ONLY to lead to 4:08 (DISASTER!)
Best one of the bunch is Justin Long. LOVE how Paul Rudd breaks the fourth wall when he says 'Imagine'. He knows this whole scene is a parody with bad impressions. That's the funniest part about it.
The cartoon version of Paul doesn't even look like Paul! His fake accent is terrible too but he at least got a bunch of Paul's flamboyant little mannerisms down. It really is funny when you compare it to Justin Long's spot-on George impersonation.
"Well, you are the "quiet one" so why don't you shut the f**k up?" I laugh so hard whenever I watch this scene, especially the little Ringo bits and the constant bickering between Paul and John.
digital _id4 When I'm Sixty-Four is a song by Paul about if the girl that he's with will still love him up until that age. It's on the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album if you wanna hear it. I really enjoy it.
I think that joke is more of a foreshadowing of the future coz John Lennon never got to live to be 64 since he died at 40 John Lennon’s and Paul McCartney’s strained friendship was heavily parodied in a comedic way in this movie.
@@joannadiaz6540 I don't think the joke was about Lennon not being alive at 64. It's just a joke that Paul's songs will still suck when he gets old. lol
I loved the monologue he presented, to me he acts as a soulful wanderer who has no place on earth to rest, but decides to live and walk to expressed his feelings upon the world he's not comfortable with.
FACT: When compiling their list of the "Most Accurate Liverpudlian Accents of All Time", it was Jack Black's reading of "We're big fans of your records, too" at 1:26 that came in straight at number one. there are some dedicated linguists out there who are still to this day convinced that Jack Black actually _was_ from the grey streets of Liverpool. but no. Black was actually born right here in the United States. he was, in fact, simply putting on an accent. an incredible impersonation of Paul. simply incredible.
JB as Paul is hilarious not only in that he is so unlike the cutesy, boyish persona, but also because he DOES mimic certain little mannerisms that Paul does (the over exaggerated little hand movements kill me)
@@gofhton did he really? I thought the joke was that Dewey Cox is this over the top bossy insufferable prick with a huge ego that refuse to give credit to anyone he perceives to be under him
George: “We used to play those dark clubs in Hamburg - remember that, Paul?” Paul: “Of course I do - I booked ‘em. I’m the leader of The Beatles!” 😂🤣😂🤣😂
0:28 George: Well, you know, when you're speaking of transcendentalism, it's like, you know, is it enlightenment? Where do you go? What sort of path do you take? And I just think we're all just sort of drifting about and when you begin to wonder about it, it's as if it doesn't exist in the first place, but then of course, it does. So there to say, I think it's not really more of answer. It's more of a question.
I missed this movie when it first came out and by chance caught it on cable earlier this year and was blown away. My wife and I were is stiches and have watched it with our kids several times since; it's a hoot! What makes the movie even better is that the original music is actually great; the songs are catchy, well written and funny! Watch this with a few beers and a few puffs and you won't be disappointed.
This is a lot more accurate than it seems. I love George and Ringo, and they were perfect, and Paul and John were hilarious. The rift in the band is so greatly exaggerated. This is freakin' hilarious.
“Oh look at me, I’m Roger Waters and I’m a complete narcissistic dickhead who can’t even play his own instrument.” - David “Oh help me Roger, I don’t know how to write a good song.” - Roger
"I got dibs on sexy.." etc. John C Reily is a riot. And I like how the Marrashi has to literally tell the Beatles to stop fighting in India. The scene is that bad where he has to remind the audience that this was supposed to take place in India.
