This is the biggest waste of over half a billion dollars I have ever seen, the place actually looks WORSE after the renovations! I don't know what MGM was thinking here. The Monte Carlo used to be one of my favorite Las Vegas hotels, it had that upscale French Riviera look and feel but was still affordable. Sure the Monte Carlo was getting a bit old, but all they had to do was replace everything they had with the same look and feel, just make it new again, NOT different.
I was staying at the Aria back in December and spent an evening here and it seemed really depressing because the place was dead and it seemed like half the casino and building in general was walled off. but on the plus side the dealers I dealt with where great.
I really hate the new look of that green and brown color theme, I really can't think of a more awful looking color theme. I can't believe they replaced that nice classy upscale French Riviera look and feel that they had before with gigantic tree roots coming out of the ceiling. I don't know what MGM was thinking here. The place just looks god-awful now.
rupert I totally agree. I miss the old Monte Carlo and it's classy upscale French Riviera theme. It looks like all the old themed hotels from the 80s and 90s are going the way of the dodo bird. What a shame. What's worse is that MGM and Caesars is wasting money on awful "renovations" like this and then charging patrons for parking and resort fees to make up for it.
Kevin Bolsajian completely agree, they took one of the best pool complexes and flushed it down the drain. The Monte Carlo was aged a bit but that wave pool and lazy river kept me coming back. Doubt I’ll ever stay here 😩
Victor S I’m so so sad to what they have done, what a waste, it was the ONLY unique style of pools on the strip, maybe if they just remodeled the inside a bit it would be great
no please don't bring your kids to Vegas. it is not a family friendly city or at least the strip isn't and they just get in the way of other people trying to enjoy their vacations. take them someplace like Disney land instead.
Well, thanks for your input. Although other perspectives are appreciated, this wasn't necessary. My 18 year old son was invited for a tournament at the Esports Arena to benefit St. Jude, and the purpose of me asking is to be a courteous person to others. With that said, I will bring my younger kids anywhere I want to because mine and my husband's money pays for our activities, not anyone else's. We've been to Vegas plenty of times, I was asking about this resort in particular. My kids get in the way of nobody, because part of good parenting is teaching respect, as well as knowing boundaries. Maybe some people you know personally have children who "get in the way." But that's a pretty crappy attitude to have toward children. Obviously, people can bring their children to a city without exposing them to things they don't need to see. Yet another aspect of good parenting, which is WHY I asked a question of someone who reviewed the resort. Taking OUR kids to Disneyland is absolutely no issue at all. We are blessed with a life where we can afford to take our kids on vacations, obviously to more child appropriate places. We are not the gambling and getting drunk or day drinking in a pool full of swamp ass type people anyhow. But, my son is a competitive gamer, and we can't choose where his sponsorship events happen. We didn't ask for anyone's approval, just a simple question about whether or not The Park MGM is more of an adult hotel. And of course, we will continue to support our son's dreams and abilities. I would much rather be at Disneyland any day of the week, trust me. That experience far exceeds anything Las Vegas has to offer.
Lauren Jones there’s tons for the family to do in Vegas especially at MGM casinos. I haven’t been there yet, but I’m quite sure there’s something for the family to do.
