We love this quick simple walk to the Stone Circles.
Just 20 minutes walk from Low Nest is the ancient stone circle at Castlerigg. The outbound walk takes you across pasture fields and hay meadows before heading back along an old farm Lonnin (farm lane) with 360 degree views around the Northern Lakes including Blencathra, Skiddaw, Grizedale common, and the entire Helvellyn range.
Taking 45 to 60 mins means this is a great walk for families, morning dog walk or for anybody with an hour to kill.
