Tarja's voice is too beautiful to be from this world ❣She can do heavy, too, though, try Slaying the Dreamer (End of an Era) for that :) Merry Christmas!
This was in Tampere ,Finland December 2000. The 'From Wishes to Eternity' DVD That is original singer Tarja Turunen, can't be a Floorgasm.😁 This was before Marko . That is Sami Vanska (98-01) on bass. You can tell it's older, Tuomas is clean shaven here. lol. Emppu playing his white ESP. Think you've only seen the his baby, the purple ESP EV-1. A cover of a Howard Blake song from a animated film called 'The Snowman' Merry Christmas to you.
The film is animated without vocals. They used a member of a boy's choir for the film. December 29, 2000. Tampere Finland. Tarja a mere slip of a girl at 23 when they did this. When you see what 23 years of more schooling and practice does no doubt you to will count yourself amongst her fans she calls "my winter storm"! Powerful and we stick around.
Now you got introduced to the old Nightwish with Tarja. Yes, she has an amazing voice too😁 To see more from her, a good song is Slaying the Dreamer live from the End of an Era concert.
That was Nightwish's first singer Tarja. The second was Anette. And now for 10 years it has been Floor. Tuomas must have said once that if Floor goes, he goes too. Then there is no more Nightwish.
I wouldn't take anything Tuomas says too seriously. Theoretically, Nightwish could continue without Floor. Also without Emppu, Jukka and Kai, only Tuomas, Troy and... another female singer - if that's the direction he wants to take. But most people wouldn't care anymore. At this point it's Floor who makes or breaks Nightwish - regardless of Tuomas his wishes. He is REALLY lucky to have her on board.
I see that others have informed you about the singer. It's just fantastic to me that a new Nightwish fan (you), appreciate them so much that it doesn't matter which leadsinger they have. And as I have said before, when you don't focus on the lyrics....magic things happens! Immersive experiences! Much Love to you and Ukraine 💙💛💙🌻🌻🌻
Tarja is the queen. Please react more to Nightwish with Tarja, and Tarja's solo career. Some suggestions: Nightwish - Ghost Love Score (dvd End of an Era) Nightwish - The Siren (dvd End of an Era) Nightwish - Sleeping sun (dvd End of an Era) Nightwish - Wishmaster (dvd End of an Era) Nightwish - Nemo (dvd End of an Era) Nightwish - Ever Dream (dvd End of an Era) Nightwish - Dark Chest of Wonders (dvd End of an Era) Nightwish - Slaying the dreamer (dvd End of an Era) Tarja - Supremacy (woodstock 2016) Tarja - Victim of Ritual Tarja - Dark Star Tarja - Undertaker Tarja - In for a kill Tarja - Diva Tarja - Until my last breath Tarja - Shadow Play Tarja - Silent Masquerade Tarja - Eye of the storm
Another great reaction video ‼️👍 I like the way you discover the word of Nightwish. Now you have listened/watched some of the great songs of them. But the best ones are still in front of you - enough possibilities to be blown away… 🤣🏆👍 Wish you a lovely time… from warm Canary Islands 🌴🎅
You have got to watch - Ever Dream, She is my Sin ,and Nemo from Wacken 2013, and Sleeping Sun from Masters of Rock concert 2016. You'll have a Floorgasm.
I prefer Tarja on Sleeping Sun and Nemo. Everdream is my fav NW song so every version is the best one. But no matter what, I listen to and love all of it. I wish more reactors did. The same reactions over and over again can get stale. But hey, that’s just me. Exposure to the band is the main thing and whatever works for each person is the best.
Time for some more diving in the Floor rabbit hole? Floor and Simone Simons (Epica) singing Sancta Terra on Epica's 10th anniversary concert, a must see
Meet Tarja Turunen, the first singer of Nightwish... she's awesome too! And this song... beautifull. Maybe you can try Anette Olzon ( their 2nd singer) too, but NOT live... i can suggest Meadows of Heaven... song i played at mom's funeral...
Nightwish is always excellent, it doesn't matter if they play their own song or a cover song! Tuomas is an excellent composer, lyricist and arranger. Here too, he was able to make a great metal arrangement of a song from a children's movie !!! The work of a master who at this point in his life was only 24 years old!
The main difference you'll hear is that Tarja's stile is full blown operatic singing, while Floor uses more of a mix of techniques and belting. Since you already got an introduction to Tarja, please check out the Nightwish version of "Phantom of The Opera" from a special 2005 show. That song has also a bit of the spirit of these festivities. I took the link from Gabriel's list ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tL25rbnvM4o.html
Loved this, thank you! Instant Christmas mood! ⭐ Tarja's operatic vocals inspired Tuomas to combine it with metal and so Nightwish's symphonic style was created. Actually Tuomas the keyboardist, Emppu the guitarist, Jukka the drummer and Tarja the vocalist were kids from the same small village called Kitee in Eastern Finland close to the Russian border. They became really close friends and it was very painful when Tarja was kicked out of the band in 2005. Fortunately nobody committed suicide back then. Masterpieces "The Poet and the Pendulum" and "Master Passion Greed" express the turmoil of dark emotions during those times. You could explore Nightwish's catalogue a little bit more before reacting to these legendary pieces. "Song of Myself" live at Wacken 2013 is a kick ass song that will yet again blow your mind! 🚀🔥🤘🤘
And I walk alone and Anteroom of death do a good job of giving her feelings on the matter. But old wounds are healed. An understanding reached. Marko and Tarja have been together a couple times together and even Floor dueted with Tarja as her guest for Over the hills. Merry Christmas everyone.
I'm watching this at spring, but big part of Tarja's career are Christmas songs. So, also good for Christmas, would be something from her " From Spirits and Ghosts" Dark Christmas album. Maybe another Christmas. (Although don't need to be Christmas to listen that album) Cheers!
Baby Nightwish! This is year 2000 so Tarja 23, Tuomas 24, Emppu 22, Jukka 22 and Sami 24. They were young, but they put on quite a show even then. Marko replaced Sami a year later.
All hale the REAL TRUE QUEEN 👑 of NIGHTWISH and of ALL FEMALE SYMPHONIC METAL SINGERS!!!!!!, the very beautiful looking and very unique voice of the enchanting TARJA!!!!!😀👍👍👍👍🤘
Look at that young Emppu, his guitar literally sings. Can’t have a Floorgasm to Tarja, the band breakup from Hell is on it’s way! Pretty song for sure.
That's Nightwish. They were called one year to Jazz Festival and played the most jazzy song they have (Slow, love, slow), it was perfect. If they played on Broadway or need to compose a movie score or anything, they'll deliver. When they announced their 10th album, you can be sure no one outside of band knows which genre wil be represented, besides metal, and we love it.
This song is pure magic. If you want something on this level I highly recommend giving Epica a listen. Try Code of Life, Beyond the Matrix (Live), Skeleton Key, or if you want to cry (and this WILL make you cry) try Rivers. Best of holidays to you Sir, Cheers!
Tarja's voice brought me to metal. Nightwish is different with Floor, unfortunately I prefer heavier style, which was with Tarja era. For Example: Wishmaster ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eJTlH521E6w.html Slaying The Dreamer ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tFSqaLKXzwY.html or Wish I Had An Angel ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7aNW6LEmK5Y.html . This have absolutely different sound than with Floor. I don't listen Nightwish so much now, their music is too cold for me and I have no reason to listen to Tarja's songs sung by Floor, but I tried. I've discovered Tarja's solo stuff this year and I she is a gem, her voice is clearer and much better than when she was in Nightwish.Years ago I made the mistake of expecting her music to be a continuation of Nightwish. But it is different rock style ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sqSe6eub_eo.html. Her music is very verstatile and creative. I recommend her Supremacy (Muse cover), Victim of Ritual - both live in Woodstock festival She also has whole album with Christmas song with gothic vibe. I recommend this song ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vOlvo9x-w8k.html
well you broke the " more as 20 Years ago" NW Wall;) Source of the Tune is even older, animated Movie from the 80s, but others will break that down much more better then i could(Chris? Amy?, already awake?) Where Tarja really draw me into them back then, i nowadays listen to here as my Gothic Queen from my Younger Years:) nice you like that too;). Still some are eager to discuss Singer Issues with 3 Female and Markos Voice, and who is was will be or never be better or missed or mandatory or ....well, NW always moved up for me, not back. Sometimes it was an Move i gave an Pass, but they surely never got bad, only more versatile. All the Health and good Vibes you surely deserve to you and your Dears:) NW Army Bavaria North
Good job except the fact that was Tarja 1996 - 2005 NOT Floor 2012 - current , this is the original line up Tuomas (Founder Keyboards) Sami (bass) 1996 - 2001 before Marco , Jukka (Drums) 1996 - 2014 before Kai 2014 - current . Emppu (Guitar) 1996 - current no Floorgasm here. Have a Very Merry Christmas
Welcome to the world of Symphonic Metal. Many of these singers are classically trained and the women really stand out. Tarja is Queen of the Metal Queens, Floor is a Valkyrie, and Simone Simons is an Avenging Angel (Epica). Lori Lewis from Therion is very operatic. Anneke Van Giersbergen (my favorite soccer mom) is fantastic, I especially like her backing Devin Townsend. That will get you started in this genre. So many good vocalists with no need for autotune. Women have nearly taken over hard rock, also. I'm an old geezer and I really like this twist in Rock and Metal. There are even funny metal bands. Especially in Folk Metal. Recommend viewing The HU, Sebnem Ferah, Leo Moracchioli, Skating Polly and Starcrawler.
and please, do not forget Dianne van Giersbergen (not related to Anneke van Giersbergen), the former leadsinger of xandra, and now exlibris. She is the only one on par with Tarja in her operatic vocals (just check out Ex-Libris - Motherland to get a glimpse of it, or xandria - nightfall)
First reaction channel I look at nowadays! 🤘 I recommend; Nightwish - devil & the deep dark ocean (Live Buenos Aires) (Floor singing an older Nightwish song that is quite fast from the 2nd album Oceanborn in '98). Epica - The Essence of Silence (OFFICIAL LIVE VIDEO) (Epica are Dutch and are also a Symphonic metal band like Nightwish, Mark Jansen (no relation to Floor) was in the band After Forever with Floor back in the late 90's/early 2000's, Floor also appears on Epica's Sancta Terra song live). Sabaton - Bismarck (Official music video) (Song about the German battleship from WWII, the video is epic). Sabaton - Art of War (Swedish Empire Live). Iced Earth - Dracula (Live Metal Camp Open Air 2008)
THANKS !!!!! For me the most exquisite ethereal mesmerizing Christmas album of all time is TARJA'S- FROM SPIRITS AND GHOST'S !!!! There are 3 official videos for it !!!!!!!!!
And this is not a Nightwish song, it is the cover of a song from the cartoon film The Snowman and is originally sung by a boy soprano. How can you not see that it is a different singer?
A Classic by actually somebody else. Just don't know the Original Performer. Christmas Song. Hehe. Yes mellow and beautiful..by Tanja and also a few times with Floor..i guess. Not high pitched but also great Variation.
Song was originally sung by a 13 year old choir boy. I think his name was Peter Auty. Then 15 year old Aled Jones released it as a single a couple of years later.
For the most part early Nightwish has too many mellow songs but their musical ability cannot be questioned. From the early albums "Wishmaster" is one of the best. "Everdream" (although I prefer the version with Floor), "I Wish I Hhad an Angel", and "Ghost Love Score" (again, I feel Floor does it better) are also epic. Happy Yule and keep rocking.
Only a band like nightwish can replace their leadsinger two times (Tarja to Annette to Floor) without beeing punished by the fans. They are even GETTING better IMO.
Never been a great Tarja (or Annette) fan. Always thought Tarja was pretty limited to singing everything like this-operatic. No variation. She couldn't really do heavy, or poppy, or whatever. Though I will say, she could do the operatic pretty well. But EVERYTHING was operatic.
She couldn’t do heavy? Most of their heaviest songs are from her era. She killed all of them. Her voice is what made NW popular. You don’t need to sing in 25 different styles to make a song great. All you need is a great voice, and great music.
I totally understand that you didn't like the Tarja sound but why people say that she was limited is odd. Tarja does belt and isn't as operatic since leaving Nightwish in her own music. The reason she was operatic originally is that, that was the sound Nightwish the band wanted from its singer! They like all bands were looking for the thing that would set them apart and they found it! Personally I loved the gothic sound of old Nightwish but it was no where near as commercial as Annette era when the band switched to a more fully Symphonic sound (possibly to support the singer). I believe Annette was chosen by Tuomas deliberately to sound as different to Tarja as possible. Was this a smart choice? Album sales would say yes as they were the two most commercial albums. Floor is amazing (and my favourite female vocalist atm) and hopefully the next album will be as well as the last album was great but to me not really Nightwish (and it showed in its sales) it was much closer to Tuomas' other project Auri than a Nightwish album.
@@mnewm21 If we're talking about Tarja as a Nightwish vocalist, her improvements since 2005 don't matter. And back then she was mostly limited to the operatic style, though she could belt too and sometimes did. I think the "limitations" came more from Tuomas' choices than her actual "inability" to sing in other styles: obviously, she can do it. Fun fact, not many people seem to know: she did occasional death growls as well. Very rarely. You're on point regarding the latest album: not bad but weird and out of place. To me it sounds like pop, skillfully camouflaged as something bigger than it is. I could've appreciated it if I didn't know who was singing - because it's just criminal to use Floor's voice like this. At this point I'm looking forward to her solo album more than the next thing Tuomas comes up with.
@@nicholew350 They might be heavy, but she still sings them in an operatic style. Floor can do operatic, growls, heavy, whatever is required. Tarja Never has shown me that kind of flexibility. I can honestly say that if I had come across NW with Tarja, I would never have been a fan. That goes tenfold for Annette, I haven't heard anything thatshe sang that I like.
