I headed from my to condo in Phrom Phong. Walking to Soi 31 on Sukhumvit. I needed to make copies and decided to grab a pizza at one of my favorite spots. Bella Napoli. / bellanapoli.bkk

Great Soi. I have used it too as a cut around to Soi 23. I have walked past Napoli many times and even looked at the menu but never went in. I’ll now try it next visit. Also want to try OFTR as well. Was supposed to visit last time but friends wanted to go elsewhere.

I sure wouldn't mind having a car. I'm a driver. But, to get around the city center is a pain. To take off early and explore the country would be nice. I should start with a rental car and go from there.

I feel like I am commenting every video you make but it is actually your fault since you are showing me things that are dear to me :) Antonios Italian Experience was the first restaurant I ever had a meal on in Thailand and it was also the first date I had with my girlfriend. This was December 20, 2012 and we are still together. Back then Antonios was top 10 ranked in Bangkok and it was good; Italian owner with genuine flavors. I had a Carbonara if my memory serves me right and we both ate Tiramisu for desert. Good times, younger days!

I grabbed a Prime Burger last week in BKK. Pleasantly surprised. Australian beef, tons of cheese and flavor. Will definitely return.

Fun fact. Villa market has no Spanish heritage or even a splinter. It's actually a thai created and run business that has modeled after the European style.. the one on suk 33 is the first store he opened back in the early 70's. And I did not chime in to educate, so I'm sorry if it comes off that way. When I first came to live in thailand I always had the feeling it was a Mexican thing but turns out to be more of the UK European thingy. 🤷‍♂️👍

I agree the owner is Thai. But, it's Veee AHHH. Tor TEE AHHH. Thai or not, that's a Spanish word. Ha ha. Villa means small town in Spanish. Small town market makes sense? Again, I plan to lose this argument. But, I refuse to say ViiiLLLAAA. It's VEEE LAAA. Ha Ha.

@EagerExpat lol. Unfortunately I have to chime on this one. As I agree it's all up to the individual interpretation and or their need to stay with 1 way.. never the less, the actual background behind the word villa does not have anything to do with Spanish existence.. the actual word started and was always. The name villa comes from ancient Rome, where it described a residence owned by wealthy citizens that served as a retreat from the populace, or a vacation estate on rich land. Lol. Now I'm a nut trying to prove a meanless point. Lol. Sorry I used to think there was ANY Spanish in thailand. In fact sunshine tacos was not introduced until after 2012. Mexican food is very new in thailand. 🤔 I only wish was as prevalent when I was living there. Great videos by the way. U bring a LOT of local knowledge that I was not aware of and worth knowing. 👍

Wish thailand had more mexico style interests. It's my favorite food despite being married to thai and lived,still live and own businesses in thailand to this day. Keep up the great foot work. We hope To be back this year. Unfortunately, we are stuck here in dreaded and dwery los angeles California. As you know, the cesspool of america...😁

@@c2cworldnews204 Ya man, all my cousins are in San Fernando and Santa Ana. I grew up in San Diego and spent most weekends in Baja riding motocross. You'll never find that kind of Mexican food anywhere in the world. But, today we have some decent options in Bangkok. Charlie Browns is really good. They moved from Soi 11 to Soi 19. Boone should narrate the videos, she probably has lots of local knowledge. It's better to use a USB drive, and hard copies it's more reliable than e-mail.

Regarding the sidewalk , is the bottle half full or half empty. Maybe it was just about the cost ! Or just a bad decision…. I have used the sidewalk and it works fine , but like you say iffy. Prime burgers or Easy Burgers both good, but price difference…. Americans will like the bigger one better…….

Ya the sidewalks are fine, you just need to watch those flip flops. You can break a toe pretty fast. Especially after a pub session. I agree Prime Burger is good. But, I had an Easy the other week. It holds it's own. My buddy says I need to try the Garage on Sukhumvit.

I stopped trying to figure out the future a long time ago. But, for today I love living in BKK. I've been here retired over two years and it seems like 2 months.
